Arabica coffee from the plantation on the foothill of Ijen-Raung mountains in Bondowoso is well known for its Java Arabica Coffee specialty. The exploration to strengthen the specialty identity is keep going on. This study aims to determine the changes in physical properties and flavor of that arabica coffee during roasting at various times and temperatures of roasting. The aspects of physical properties that were studied include weight to volume ratio, coffee bean dimension, and a color index of RGB (red green blue). The weight-to-volume ratio and color index of RGB decreased as the time and temperature roasting increased. The change in dimension of the coffee bean was caused by roasting also detected, but not dominant signifies the roasting level. This is due to the dimension change of coffee bean in each roasting profile having tiny differences and the dimension of the green bean had high variation. Based on this study, it is known that the roasting with a maximum temperature of 165°C and total time process of 9.5 minutes gives the highest total score of aroma, flavor, acidity, and aftertaste of that arabica coffee.

This chapter examines the emblem as a literary genre. Emblems, once dismissed as popular, trivial, and visually second-rate, have become the object of an independent specialism. Yet there is still little agreement as to what constitutes the emblem as a genre. And, now that literary criticism threatens to merge into media studies, the emblem is increasingly treated from a visual viewpoint, with consequent neglect of its literary aspects. The chapter then looks at how far emblems belong to literature, and constitute, indeed, a literary genre. As with any literary genre, we are faced with the diversifications of historical existence. Literary kinds have a diachronic dimension: change discloses, fashion fashions them. It is precisely innovation, in fact, that makes generic form apparent. And the emblem is no exception. It, too, came about through gradual transformation of earlier genres, and went on changing.

AbstractMorphometric relations for Araucaria angustifolia (Bertol.) Kuntze in Santa Catarina, Brazil. Knowing the morphometry of a species and describing its relations help us in the planning and in the sustainable use of the forest. The objective of this study was to analyze morphometric relationships in order to fit models representing 121 Araucaria angustifolia trees sampled at two sites in São José do Cerrito, Planalto Catarinense. The measures were: diameter at breast height (Dap), height (h), crown insertion height (hic), crown radius (rc), crown length (cc), crown diameter (dc), slenderness index (IS), degree of slenderness (GE), formal cup (HR), crown ratio (Pc%) and sociological position (PS) of each individual. Person correlation was used to evaluate the relationships between morphometric variables. The covariance analysis was used to verify difference of level and slope in the adjustments of the models for the sites. The fit of the models was done by generalized linear models (MLG) in the gamma and normal distribution fields, identity and logarithmic link function for correlations greater than or equal to 0.7. The covariance analysis showed differences in the relations for each site, indicating the adjustment of different equations. The equations showed variations in morphometric relationships due to the shape-dimension change of each tree. The results show the modification in the shape of the canopy, from the social position of each tree, besides the diametrical influence and the space occupied by each tree in the forest, competition and site conditions. The established morphometric relationships were important to explain the growth dynamics of the species and the application of silvicultural interventions. Keywords: morphometry, modeling, forest management.

Selective laser sintering (SLS) printers have been used for rapid prototyping, and the prototypes of part assemblies have been reported to expand or shrink over time. This paper examines the hygroscopic swelling behavior of 3D printed parts from SLS printers. A total of 10 hexahedron samples were produced using nylon-12, which is a common material used for prototyping. Half of the samples were exposed to a high temperature to reduce the moisture content, and the rest were left at a room temperature. In the meantime, 13 dimensions of each sample were measured periodically along with the local weather records including relative humidity in order to track the hygroscopic swelling behavior of the samples. The results showed that the deformation was mostly occurred to the dimensions parallel to the sintering layers. Also, changes in these dimensions were found to have a high correlation with the relative humidity regardless of temperature conditions. These results imply that changes in environmental conditions such as relative humidity result in the deformation of 3D printed parts after production. The high correlation between dimension change and relative humidity also indicates the layup orientation is a decisive factor to predict the deformation of 3D printed parts. Thus, unexpected deformation of 3D printed parts can be avoided by optimizing the parts design considering the layup orientation and by controlling the environmental conditions.

The paper presents the results of studies on the effect of nonuniform temperature distribution over the length of feedstock on the variation of longitudinal stresses in the rolling direction and band dimension change during the continuous rolling process. The studies were performed based on actual engineering data for a 160x160 mm square cross-section feedstock of steel S355J0. Numerical modelling of the rolling process was performed using Forge 2008®, a finite-element based computer program. Thermovision measurements and bars geometrical dimension changes were carried out in a domestic steelworks.
