The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has become the most critical healthcare issue worldwide since the pandemic was announced in March 2020. Although respiratory symptoms remain the critical characteristic feature of COVID-19 (with acute respiratory syndrome as the leading cause of mortality), the disease also affects other organs. In fact, the involvement of the cardiovascular system during COVID-19 may include acute coronary symptoms, acute heart failure and myocarditis, arrhythmias, cardiac tamponade, pulmonary embolism, and right ventricular failure due to a high-pressure mechanical ventilation. It is vital to note that all of the abovementioned disorders require specific, pandemic-adapted imaging algorithms. This brief review aims to discuss different cardiac imaging modalities to demonstrate their effectiveness in managing patients in the acute phase of COVID-19.

Sufficient matching conditions the time-dependent characteristic first derivatives in the boundary mode with the initial conditions and the more general vibration equation of a semi-bounded string are derived in the sets of solutions of all higher order smoothness orders. They generalize the previously found sufficient matching conditions in the case of a similar mixed problem for the simplest string vibration equation. The characteristic of non-stationary first oblique derivatives in the boundary mode means that at each moment of time they are directed along the critical characteristic.

Providing opportunities for novice and veteran teachers to reflect and asses their instruction is essential for building professional expertise. The importance of the skill of reflection has historically been valued as a critical characteristic of a good teacher. In Donald Schön's seminal work, The Reflective Practitioner (1983), he affirmed the importance of reflection in the teaching profession and stressed how skillful reflection builds professional excellence. Using Schön's work as a framework, the authors explore the use of video as a tool to support both competence and reflective practices in novice and veteran teachers enrolled in online education programs. This chapter surveys recent studies that support the growth of competent, reflective teachers. Video, combined with guidance on thoughtful reflection, support the use of instructional practices that build and strengthen teacher competence.

A critical characteristic of migration is that it involves people in all their complexity, and with all their complex needs. Therefore, migration, perhaps more than any other field of international law, is difficult to separate as a body of law from human rights, trade, taxation, investment, health, security, etc. In this brief essay, I will describe two critical, and distinct, linkages that prevent us from cabining migration as a separate field. Both arise in the area of labor migration. Indeed, it is through linkage with other fields of international law, such as trade and investment, that states could establish international legal commitments to liberalize migration.

[Purpose] Smartphones video cameras can be used to detect the photoplethysmograph (PPG) signal. The pulse wave signal detected by smartphone always mixed mass noise because of finger moving, unevenness of pressure and outer light interference. Previous studies limit to the filtering algorithm that denoising signals, without considering characteristics information of pulse wave itself. [Method] In this paper, we propose an algorithm based on wavelet to detect qualified PPG, which captures three critical characteristic quantities through wavelet high frequency coefficient. [Results] Experiment illustrates that the detected PPG signal contain dicrotic wave, and whats more, further experiment on artery elasticity indexes indicates good robust of the algorithm. [Conclusions] Wavelet Based Measurement on Photoplethysmography by Smartphone Imaging can be used for the calculation of cardiovascular parameter such as angiosclerosis, arrhythmia, and vascular resistance.

The homogeneous flow model of trans critical transient calculation is achieved by the trans critical program of SCWR which is made by FORTRAN. The SCWR sliding pressure starting scheme is simulated by this program. So that the pressure raising stage characteristic of its booting process is analyzed. The calculation result shows that, in the pressure raising stage of booting process, the maximum cladding temperature gradually increases. Coolant temperature increases gradually along with the flow direction. The dry degree also increases along with the flow direction. The highest temperature of cladding does not exceed 650 °C limits. There is no major adverse effect on heat transfer of fuel rod in the dramatic changes in the physical properties of water.

ABSTRACT Dispositional Need for Closure (DNFC; Webster and Kruglanski 1994) concerns the propensity to seek and process information before reaching a judgment. Psychology researchers have demonstrated consistent effects on hypothesis generation and confidence in lay-judgment settings. Although psychology literature, in a validation sample, identifies accounting students as a group high in DNFC, we find professional auditors significantly lower in DNFC than reported in their sample of accounting students, and progressively lower in DNFC at higher professional ranks. Yet, substantial variance in this critical characteristic persists even at higher ranks, to potentially affect judgment. Since findings concerning lay decision makers are not always applicable to accounting professionals, we investigate the effects of DNFC on the hypothesis generation and confidence of experienced auditors. Auditors higher in DNFC generate fewer, lower-quality hypotheses, yet express greater confidence in their hypothesis set. Broader implications are discussed.
