Economic activity in the Arctic is playing an increasingly important role in the globalizing economy, given that such an economy is largely based on natural resources (oil, gas and minerals) as well as the long-distance transport of these resources and related goods. The Arctic seems to be one of the last opportunities to exploit vast resources, which, ironically, made it possible by the negative effects of this very exploitation in the form of global warming and the subsequent retreat of the ice cover of the circumpolar North. Thus, the Arctic has already become and will continue to be part of economic globalization. The article gives an analysis of the dynamics of the «Polar Index of the Barents region. Companies». The need to include the main elements of industrial safety in the sustainable development of the Arctic has been justified, as well as the establishment of industrial symbiotic cooperation rating based on it. Industrial symbiosis is an economically efficient and environmentally friendly solution for industry that reduces energy consumption and primary material consumption by deriving value from waste, byproducts and heat losses.

Abstract Motivation Two-dimensional [15N-1H] separated local field solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) experiments of membrane proteins aligned in lipid bilayers provide tilt and rotation angles for α-helical segments using Polar Index Slant Angle (PISA)-wheel models. No integrated software has been made available for data analysis and visualization. Results We have developed the PISA-SPARKY plugin to seamlessly integrate PISA-wheel modeling into the NMRFAM-SPARKY platform. The plugin performs basic simulations, exhaustive fitting against experimental spectra, error analysis and dipolar and chemical shift wave plotting. The plugin also supports PyMOL integration and handling of parameters that describe variable alignment and dynamic scaling encountered with magnetically aligned media, ensuring optimal fitting and generation of restraints for structure calculation. Availability and implementation PISA-SPARKY is freely available in the latest version of NMRFAM-SPARKY from the National Magnetic Resonance Facility at Madison (http://pine.nmrfam.wisc.edu/download_packages.html), the NMRbox Project (https://nmrbox.org) and to subscribers of the SBGrid (https://sbgrid.org). The pisa.py script is available and documented on GitHub (https://github.com/weberdak/pisa.py) along with a tutorial video and sample data. Supplementary information Supplementary data are available at Bioinformatics online.

The article is devoted to the approaches to achieve sustainable development of the Arctic territories. Measuring sustainability is one of the important aspects in the formation of state and corporate policies. Sustainable development of the region requires to solve three issues: 1) to improve the quality of life of the population; 2) to reduce social inequality; 3) to reduce the anthropogenic pressure on ecosystems. The article analyzes two author’s methods: compiling a sustainable development rating of the Russian Federation’s regions, fully or partially included in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation, and companies operating in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation (Polar Index); development of a sustainable development rating for the regions and companies of the Barents Euro-Arctic Region (Barents-Polar Index). These studies will be useful to representatives of companies and the leadership of the Russian regions to move towards sustainable development based on the “green” economy.

The pollen grain morphology of Jacaratia corumbensis Kuntze, J. spinosa (Aubl.) A.DC., Vasconcellea quercifolia A. St.-Hil., and Carica papaya L. from Argentine samples were examined for the first time, using light and scanning electron microscopes. Observations and measurements were performed on acetolyzed pollen grains. Principal-components analysis was performed for quantitative morphological variables. Pollen grains were tri-colporate with lalongate endoaperture, oblate spheroidal to prolate, medium, exine bireticulate or reticulate, with a granulate lumina. A fastigium was present. Novel palynological data in this study for species identification revealed the presence of margo in C. papaya and variations in endoaperture shapes in all the species. The endoaperture ends often were H-shaped or horn-shaped. A biplot showed clear separation of the four taxa based on the palynological traits. Vasconcellea quercifolia was strongly correlated with equatorial diameter, equatorial diameter in polar view, exine thickness, and polar diameter, whereas J. corumbensis and J. spinosa were positively correlated with polar index and polar area index, respectively. The distance between two colpi allowed the discrimination of C. papaya. We confirmed the homogenous nature for most of the qualitative palynological characters in Caricaceae, and demonstrated that pollen morphology in combination with statistical analyses is a reliable tool for delimiting taxonomic groups.

By means of theory of truth degrees of formulas, according to deduction theorems and completeness theorems, the new concepts of consistency degrees and polar index for general theories in Łukasewicz fuzzy andn-valued propositional logic systems are introduced. Moreover, sufficient and necessary conditions for a theoryΓto be consistent, inconsistent, and fully divergent are obtained. Finally, some important properties of truth degrees of formulas are proposed.
