Hailey-Hailey disease (HHD) is a rare autosomal dominant acantholytic dermatosis. It is characterized by a recurrent eruption of vesicles, erosions, and scaly erythematous plaques involving intertriginous areas and first occurring after puberty, mostly in the third or fourth decade. In 2000, mutations in the ATP2C1 gene on band 3q22.1, encoding the secretory pathway Ca2+/Mn2+-ATPase protein 1(hSPCA1), have been identified as the cause of HHD. We report the identification of two novel mutations of ATP2C1 gene in two Portuguese patients, which expands the spectrum of ATP2C1 mutations underlying HHD and provides useful information for genetic counseling.

Jessner-Kanof lymphocytic inltrate is a rare benign chronic T cell inltrative disease characterized by multiple tumid erythematous papules, plaques and nodules predominantly on sun exposed sites like face, neck and upper back. Etiology of Jessner lymphocytic inltrate is unknown but autoimmunity, Borrelia burgdorferi infection may have a possible role. There is a case report of Jessner lymphocytic inltrate after third dose of bee venom immunotherapy in hymenoptera venom anaphylaxis. Here,we report a case of 27 year married female who presented with multiple erythematous plaques and few nodules on face ,neck and upper back after 2 days of second dose of covishield vaccine. Clinical and histopathological correlation conrmed the diagnosis of Jessner-Kanof lymphocytic inltrate. Skin biopsy revealed dense perivascular and periadnexal lymphocytic inltrates in the dermis. Dermatological manifestations with covid vaccines are few in clinical volunteers but have been increasing since mass vaccination has started. A few side effects like urticaria , erythema and edema at injection site, pityriasis rosea, covid toes, systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis have been reported after covid vaccination.

Psoriasis is a chronic multisystem inflammatory disease that affects ~0.1–1.5% of the world population. The classic cutaneous manifestation of psoriasis is scaly erythematous plaques, limited or widely distributed. Moreover, psoriasis could be associated with comorbidities like psoriatic arthritis, metabolic syndrome, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, nephropathy, bowel disease, and brain diseases. In this review, we suggest that psoriasis should be classified as cutaneous psoriasis or systemic psoriasis and propose the classification for distinction. This would help to better understand and manage psoriasis.

BACKGROUND Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory skin disease. The visibility of the erythematous plaques on the skin as well as the pain and itch caused by the skin lesions frequently leads to psychological distress in patients. Smartphone apps are widespread, easily accessible and could effectively complement current management strategies of psoriasis patients. OBJECTIVE To systematically identify and objectively assess the quality of currently publicly available German apps for psoriasis patients and compile brief, ready-to-use app descriptions. METHODS We conducted a systematic search and assessment of German apps for psoriasis patients available in the Google Play and Apple App Store. The identified apps were randomly assigned to and independently rated using the Mobile Application Rating Scale (MARS) by three reviewers. Apps were ranked accordingly to their mean MARS rating and the highest ranked app was evaluated independently by two psoriasis patients using the User Version of the Mobile Application Rating Scale (uMARS). App information, including origin, main function and technical aspects and was congregated. RESULTS In total, we were able to identify 95 different apps for psoriasis, of which 15 were available in both app stores, 5 were not specifically intended for psoriasis patients and 1 was designed for clinical trials only. Consequently, the remaining nine apps were included in the final evaluation. Mean MARS score varied between 3.51 and 4.18. The app with the highest mean MARS score was “Psoriasis Helferin” (4.18/5) . When rated by patients, the app was rated lower in all MARS subcategories, resulting in a mean uMARS score of 3.48. CONCLUSIONS App quality was heterogenous and only a minority of identified apps was available in both app stores. The discrepant patient results highlight the importance of involving patients when developing and evaluating health apps. CLINICALTRIAL Deutsches Register klinische Studien (DRKS): DRKS00020963

Abstract Background Seborrheic dermatitis (SD) is a subacute or chronic superficial inflammatory skin condition, characterized by pruritic, erythematous plaques with greasy, yellow-gray scales, which appear on areas rich in sebaceous glands such as the face, scalp, upper chest, and back. Aim of the Work To identify Malassezia species that are involved in the development of SD in different body sites (face, scalp and trunk) and in different age groups, by using Chrom agar. Patients and Methods Forty nine patients with seborrheic dermatitis attending dermatology outpatient clinic in Ain shams university hospital the samples collected from December 2018 to June 2019. Results In this study, the most affected areas were the scalp and other sites as face and ears, which is concordant with the majority of studies worldwide. The role of sex in propensity to the development of Malassezia spp. Infection in SD is still unclear. Conclusion The distribution of Malassezia spp. on healthy and diseased skin shows significant variation and differences, although our knowledge of Malassezia yeasts has increased tremendously during the last two decades, their pathological roles remain ambiguous, and there is currently no conclusive evidence that any given species is responsible for a specific disease.
