Taken overlying strata of fully mechanized top coal caving mining (FMTCCM) in 15 m extra thick coal seam as the research object, the comprehensive research methods such as field investigation, theoretical calculation, and numerical analysis are used to systematically analyze. During the mining of extra thick coal seam, the overlying strata form the structure of lower cantilever beam and upper hinged rock beam. The downward transmission caused by the interaction of this combined structure is the fundamental reason for the strong periodic ground pressure behavior of working face and roadway blow. The movement process of overlying strata movement is divided into four stages, and dynamic distribution characteristics of lateral abutment pressure in different stages are obtained. It is considered that the gob side roadway can be in a relatively stable overburden structure and stress environment during the stable stage of abutment pressure. The distribution range of the internal and external stress fields is determined, which provides a theoretical basis for the reasonable roadway layout. At last, the fracture position and abutment pressure evolution process of overlying strata along the goaf side of the extra thick coal seam are further verified by drilling stress measurement.

Abstract An advanced experimental and theoretical model to explain the correlation between the electronic and local structure of Eu2+ in two different environments within a same compound, EuS, is presented. EuX monochalcogenides (X: O, S, Se, Te) exhibit anomalies in all their properties around 14 GPa with a semiconductor to metal transition. Although it is known that these changes are related to the 4f75d0 → 4f65d1 electronic transition, no consistent model of the pressure-induced modifications of the electronic structure currently exists. We show, by optical and x-ray absorption spectroscopy, and by ab initio calculations up to 35 GPa, that the pressure evolution of the crystal field plays a major role in triggering the observed electronic transitions from semiconductor to the half-metal and finally to the metallic state.

The quantum effects in plasmas can be described by the hydrodynamics containing the continuity and Euler equations. However, novel quantum phenomena are found via the extended set of hydrodynamic equations, where the pressure evolution equation and the pressure flux third-rank tensor evolution equation are included. These give the quantum corrections to the Coulomb interaction. The spectra of the Langmuir waves and the spin-electron acoustic waves are calculated. The application of the pressure evolution equation ensures that the contribution of pressure in the Langmuir wave spectrum is proportional to $(3/5)v_{\textrm {Fe}}^{2}$ rather than $(1/3)v_{\textrm {Fe}}^{2}$ , where $v_{\textrm {Fe}}$ is the Fermi velocity.

On 6 June 2020, Pluto’s stellar occultation was successfully observed at a ground-based observatory in Iran, and Pluto’s atmospheric parameters were investigated. We used an atmospheric model of Pluto, assuming a spherical and transparent pure N2 atmosphere. Using ray-tracing code, the stellar occultation light curve was satisfactorily fit to this model. We found that Pluto’s atmospheric pressure at the reference radius of 1215 km was 6.72 ± 0.48 μbar in June 2020. Our estimated pressure shows a continuation of the pressure increase trend observed since 1988 and does not confirm the rapid pressure decrease tentatively reported in 2019. The pressure evolution is consistent with a seasonal transport model. We conclude that the N2 sublimation process from Sputnik Planitia is continuing. This study’s result is shown on the diagram of the annual evolution of atmospheric pressure.

Abstract In this study the method of Kulish has been used to derive a non-field solution of the equation, which models the process of unsteady filtration of a slightly compressible fluid within a domain consisting of both flow and stagnation areas under the influence of some pressure distribution at the boundary. The solution relates the local values of pressure and the corresponding pressure gradient and is valid everywhere within the domain including the boundary. The solution thus obtained is in the form of a series with respect to generalised differ-integral operators of fractional orders. The solution has been compared with the know solution of the filtration problem with no stagnation areas. Finally, an integral equation to estimate the pressure evolution at the boundary for a given filtration speed has been proposed.
