Abstract The situation when an illegal user intercepts data from the communication channel of two legal users is considered. The data in the legal channel is protected from distortion by error correction codes. It is assumed that the intercept channel may be noisier than the legal channel. And, consequently, the interceptor receives low-quality data. The possibility of using a special type of error-correction code decoders by an illegal user to restore damaged data is discussed. The interceptor model is constructed. The model includes a receiving block of the intercept channel, as well as several auxiliary blocks, such as a memory device, a block for determining the quality of communication in the legal channel, databases with possible decoders and their parameters. Examples are given that show the potential capabilities of the interceptor. The examples demonstrate the difference in decoding quality between different decoders for LDPC codes and Reed-Muller codes. These examples show that an illegal user with the various decoders described in the open press can receive information with satisfactory quality even at a weak signal level in the intercept channel. The constructed model can be useful in the tasks of developing methods of protection against intruders who organize illegitimate data interception channels.

A clinical case of endometrial cancer in a patient with complete doubling of the cervix and the body of the uterus is presented. The combination of this pathology is quite rare and is often accompanied by difficulties in timely diagnosis and choice of treatment tactics. The article presents an analysis of studies to identify similarities and differences in the clinical and morphological characteristics and prognosis of endometrial cancer associated with uterine abnormalities. This clinical case clearly demonstrates the features of the clinical course of endometrial cancer against the background of a congenital abnormality of the uterus. The standard combined treatment performed showed a good result and a satisfactory quality of life for the patient.

In the current aging society of Japan, malnutrition and resultant sarcopenia have been widely identified as important symptomatic indicators of ill health and can cause impairments of longevity and quality of life in older individuals. Elderly individuals are recommended to have sufficient calorie and protein intake so as to enjoy a satisfactory quality of life, including maintaining activities of daily living in order to avoid emaciation and sarcopenia. The prevalence of emaciation and sarcopenia in elderly hemodialysis (HD) patients in Japan is higher than in non-HD elderly subjects due to the presence of malnutrition and sarcopenia associated with chronic kidney disease (CKD). Furthermore, comorbidities, such as diabetes and osteoporosis, induce malnutrition and sarcopenia in HD patients. This review presents findings regarding the mechanisms of the development of these early symptomatic conditions and their significance for impaired QOL and increased mortality in elderly HD patients.

The study presents results of malting quality and agronomic characteristics of the LG Verdi, LG Tosca, and Spitfire spring barley varieties that were obtained during a three-year period of testing within the state varietal trials in the Slovak Republic. Extract from the varieties was at the level from 82.9 to 84.1%. The varieties exhibited optimal and high levels of proteolytic modification (47.4 to 52.0%) and satisfactory to optimal levels of final attenuation (80.8 to 81.8%). Degradation of cell walls was high – between 86 and 96%. Beta-glucan content was at a satisfactory to optimal level of 67 to 158 mg/l. In addition, the study presents results which the Suez winter barley variety achieved in a two-year period of state varietal trials. The variety exhibited satisfactory quality of the extract level, optimal level of proteolytic modification and optimal wort composition. This variety had a slow degradation of cell walls, but its beta-glucan content was at the satisfactory level.

In the service industry, to get the satisfactory quality outcome, both the customer and server play an important role. It is not a one-way process but a series of multiple continuous feedback loops that define the outcome. The demand levels set between both the customer and server decide whether the result will be extraordinary or ordinary. In the education sector, the customer is the student and the teacher is the server. It would be interesting to analyse this relationship and study its impact. The idea is to use the established, nationally recognized measurement criteria like National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF). This system has defined different criteria, of which 50% weightage has been given to teacher and student quality, named as Research and Professional Practice (RP) and Graduation Outcomes (GO). Statistical tools were used to analyse and compare the input criteria and their impact on the outcome. This attempt establishes the relationship between the teacher and student and the importance of the customer–server duality.

Obtaining high-quality seedlings is a step of fundamental importance for the successful implementation of a coffee crop, which can be measured by evaluating seedling morphological and quality parameters. This study examines the quality of coffee seedlings produced in nurseries in the municipalities of Inconfidentes, Ouro Fino, and Jacutinga, southern Minas Gerais State, Brazil. The experiment was carried out in nurseries here termed 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8, from 05/28/2017 to 02/28/2018. The experiment was developed in an 8 × 2 factorial arrangement consisting of 8 seedling nurseries and 2 cultivars (Catuaí strains IAC 62 and 144) evaluated in 3 replicates containing 8 seedlings each. The following traits were evaluated: leaf area (LA), total dry matter (TDM), shoot: root ratio (S: R), plant height: stem diameter ratio (HDR), and Dickson quality index (DQI). Data were subjected to combined analysis and, after significant differences were detected (p<0.05), the Scott-Knott test of means was applied. The management adopted in the nurseries influenced the development of the evaluated cultivars. Seedlings from nursery 5, of both evaluated cultivars; and from nursery 8, of cultivar IAC 144, exhibited a DQI above 0.2, indicating superior quality. Only nursery 5 showed seedlings of adequate quality for both cultivars. Regardless of their location, the other coffee-seedling nurseries still did not produce seedlings of satisfactory quality to be taken to the field.

Background. Endometrial cancer is the most common malignancy of the female reproductive system. Patients with metastatic endometrial cancer have the overall 5-year survival rate of less than 20 %. The efficacy of treatment of advanced endometrial cancer remains low; therefore, the search for novel approaches for treating endometrial cancer is of great importance.Case description. We report a case of a 68-year-old female who presented with advanced endometrial cancer with metastatic lesions found in the axillary and lumbar lymph nodes, liver and lungs. The disease progressed after third-line chemotherapy, with no deficiency in the DNA repair system. The patient was successfully treated with lenvatinib and pembrolisumab. The treatment was characterized by controlled minimal toxicity and a satisfactory quality of life. At 5 months, the patient is alive with stable disease.Conclusion. Despite the progress in treating endometrial cancer including chemotherapy and hormone therapy, the prognosis of patients with metastatic endometrial cancer is poor. The discovery of new molecular markers (MSI , PD -L1) made it possible to develop a clinical approach using a combination of pembrolizumab and lenvatinib for patients with no deficiency in the repair system, for whom, the standard chemotherapy is ineffective. The presented case gives hope for the treatment of this category of patients.

Aims: This study aims to evaluate the microbiological, physicochemical and sensory qualities of beverages sold on the market in Benin. Study Design:  The biological material used consisted mainly of beverage samples (126) collected at random from three wholesalers at the points of sale on two different occasions (regular period of 15 days) at the Dantokpa international market in Cotonou (Benin) in between April and September 2019. Place and Duration of Study: This study was conducted between April and December 2019 at the Food Safety Research, Laboratory of Microbiology and Food Technologies, Department of Plant Biology, Faculty of Science and Technology, University of Abomey-Calavi, Benin. Methodology: Microbiological, physicochemical and sensory qualities of samples were evaluated. Results: The results of the microbiological analyzes revealed that all the drinks analyzed contained neither the total mesophilic aerobic flora, nor wild yeast, saccharomyces nor lactic bacteria. Therefore, the drinks are free from all pathogenic microorganisms that may harm the health of consumers. These products sold on the market complied with the criteria set by the standards and were therefore of satisfactory hygienic quality. However, the physicochemical parameters of the various drinks analyzed varied significantly from one brand to another. Results showed that the Nigerian Guinness produced contained more foam (287 s at 20 °C) and was rich in Diacetyl (0.119 mg / l) than the Benin Guinness (0.050 mg / l). As for the beer "La Béninoise", it produced more foam (220 s at 20 °C) than the Goldberg (209 s at 20 °C) but less than the Satzenbrau (250 s at 20 °C). The beer "La Béninoise" was less rich in Diacetyl (0.026 mg / l) and shown more than Goldberg (0.047 mg/l) and Satzenbrau (0.034 mg/l). As for the types of mixed drinks, it is the star Radler of Nigeria which presented a beautiful foam (235 s at 19.9 °C) with a cloudy aspect compared to the variegated one of Benin (227 s at 20.1 °C). Sensory analysis revealed that Beninese Brewery Company drinks were more appreciated by tasters. Conclusion: In view of these results, all the beverages analyzed can be recommended to consumers because most of these drinks are of satisfactory quality and consistent with the standards.
