The cultural heritage tourism site is hard to maintain identity since it is not representing the real identity in the site. Alongside, diminishing of the place significance that occurs at the cultural tourism site also contributed to the conflict of place identity. By considering the issue that faced at cultural heritage tourism site, the aims of this study are to understanding the potential of conflict place identity at cultural heritage tourism site towards the domestic tourist perspectives. Two objectives for this study: i) to identify the factor conflict of place identity that affect the significance of cultural heritage tourism site, ii) to evaluate the significance of place attachment towards the conflict of place identity at cultural heritage tourism site. This study is using quantitative techniques and the domestic tourists as main respondents at Petaling Street, Kuala Lumpur. The result of this study showed that the factors of conflict place identity at cultural heritage tourism sites could affect the tourist’s experiences and expectations about the tourism places. This study may inspire the stakeholders in handling the conflict of place identity and delivered better services to tourists for better services at cultural heritage tourism sites.

The hospitality industry faced extraordinary challenges as opposed to the pandemic that causes the decrease of occupancy rate until 4% for economy hotels and 15% for luxury hotels. This condition affects to joblessness of the hotel workers. The study focuses on the psychosocial impact of joblessness due to the covid-19 pandemic on the hotel workers.  A qualitative research design was used in this study. Data gathered was from the point of view of the hotel workers of the industries done through interviews online. The implication of the study reveals the challenges brought by this pandemic are mostly loss of revenues leading to employee layoffs. The study reveals that despite the pandemic faced by the industries, the resiliency of Filipinos was evidently seen. Furthermore, the hospitality industry distinguished the impact of Covid-19 on the well-being of hotel workers. Thus, results from this study can be used by companies to develop a more efficient coping mechanism for unforeseen situations like pandemics and any other circumstances unpredicted by humankind.

Job satisfaction among managers in the hospitality industry has a direct correlation to the ability of the hotels to increase guest satisfaction and improve services. This study aimed to determine the level of job satisfaction of hospitality managers among accredited hotels according to the star classification, their level of management, assigned departments and personal factors. By determining the level of satisfaction of managers according to the identified factors, management and owners of hospitality businesses would be able to focus on sustaining the perceived essential factors and will increase the manager's level of performance. A descriptive survey was used to gather the result of the study involving 91 managers of 4-Star and 3-Star hotels. The findings showed that the managers of the Department of Tourism accredited hotels in Baguio City are very satisfied with their jobs. Managers of 3-Star hotels are very satisfied while those who are in 4-Star hotels are satisfied. Middle managers are satisfied with their jobs, while the top and lower-level managers are very satisfied with their jobs. Managers in the front offices have a higher level of satisfaction than the support departments. The varying levels of job satisfaction among managers are dictated by several factors other than the job. In the personal factors, Millennial managers are satisfied while the Baby Boomers and Generation X are very satisfied. In ranking the most dominant factor that affects the level of satisfaction of hospitality managers, salaries and wages, promotion chances, and company policies emerged as the top three factors.

This survey-correlational study, conducted in January 2016, aimed at ascertaining the impact and prospects for the development of sustainable tourism in Northern Iloilo. Two hundred (200) randomly selected residents of selected municipalities from Northern Iloilo were utilized as participants. The cluster sampling method was used in the selection of participants.  The Tourism Impact Questionnaire was utilized to measure the impact of sustainable tourism, while the Prospects for Sustainable Tourism was adapted to measure the level of viability of the prospects of sustainable tourism in Northern Iloilo. Data, frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation were employed as descriptive statistics, while the t-test, one-way ANOVA and Pearsons r were used as inferential statistics. Study results revealed the high impact of Northern Iloilo on the sustainability of tourism as perceived by the residents. Sustainable tourism in Northern Iloilo was found to have very high prospects for development. A positive and significant relationship existed between the assessed impact and viability of the prospects for development of the sustainable tourism in Northern Iloilo.

Many Deaf Filipinos remain unemployed despite the increased attention level from the hospitality industry. The study aimed to examine the levels of awareness on Deaf culture and FSL skills within the hospitality industry of Zamboanga City to foster sustainable employment - including quality service; it used a descriptive research design employing qualitative and quantitative approaches.  The sample group was purposively selected from 4 hotels and 8 restaurants - duly accredited by the Department of Tourism Region 9 as of December 31, 2018. The study revealed that Zamboanga City hospitality industry stakeholders were aware 1) of Deaf culture; that 2) Deaf individuals can visually communicate through reading, writing, gestures, or FSL; 3) they can visually communicate with Deaf individuals regardless of their FSL knowledge or skills; also, 4) there was no significant difference in the respondents’ levels of awareness on Deaf culture and FSL skills in the area; 5) an intervention program is needed to increase Deaf Zamboangeños' hospitality employability. The study concluded that Zamboangeño hospitality industry stakeholders 1) were aware of Deaf culture and FSL skills despite linguistic differences; 2) can visually communicate with Deaf individuals despite having little to no FSL skills nor Deaf culture knowledge; also, 3) the communication models affect Deaf individuals' hospitality employability and capability; and, 4) Deaf culture awareness and FSL skills through interactive interaction among Deaf and hearing individuals, within hospitality business operations, are crucial in emerging communication patterns.

Edible flowers have recorded several uses in local and international cuisines. The presence of these beautifully tasty and fragrant ingredients on restaurant menus becomes more common. In the Philippines, there was an evident research gap on the visibility and lack of available references or reviews affecting awareness on the gastronomic use of the edible flowers in the context of restaurant contemporary menus and cuisines. This exploratory study aimed to gather helpful details and information that can be useful in creating a strategic restaurant marketing framework. Data covered the evaluation and analysis of the marketing factors influencing consumers’ behavior and the customers’ actual experiences shared in the survey forming the primary data, including the inputs and knowledge shared by the restaurant experts and owners.Furthermore, results of the study showed significant relationships between demographic profiles of respondents with the marketing factors influencing consumers, behavior and customers’ experiences. There were also significant correlations, of different degrees, between the marketing factors influencing consumers’ behavior and the customers’ experiences. The definition of the relationships further resulted to the establishment of a restaurant marketing framework, wherein utilization of the strategic components was strongly recommended to sustain and promote edible flowers in the Philippine restaurant menus

The Earth's climate has changed in great measure throughout history, and it significantly impacts human society, economic development, and ecological degradation. Understanding how to sustain green volunteerism among youth is an important issue to confronting today’s ecological challenges, especially when they may serve as future leaders of environmental movements. In a focus group setting, 25 representatives of multi-stakeholders discussed how and why students in higher education institutions participate in green volunteering. Transcripts from the conversation were analyzed to comprehend the motives, challenges, and benefits of youth engagement in green volunteering. Findings suggested that young adults are aware of and working on climate issues. A few issues were raised as challenges and/or demotivating factors in youth engagement among green volunteerism.

This study examines the determinants of excursionists’ satisfaction and destination loyalty towards architectural tourism destination in Ipoh Township, since in view of its economic, social and cultural importance, there are limited studies focusing on tourist satisfaction and destination loyalty towards architectural tourism in the extant literature. In addition, the downturn of the tourism sector in Malaysia has mirrored in the state of Perak which raises an alarming signal to the state tourism authorities as domestic tourists are shifting away to tourism destinations in other states and cities in Malaysia. It is postulated that Destination Image, Authenticity, Safety of Destination and Cultural Differences as direct determinants of excursionists’ satisfaction and destination loyalty. Using convenience sampling technique, this study surveyed 250 excursionists who are visiting architectural tourism destination in Ipoh Township. The data were analysed to ensure the attainment of internal reliability before further analyses were conducted. Multiple linear regression analyses found that all determinants had a significant positive effect on excursionists’ satisfaction and destination loyalty. The findings suggest managerial implications to the tourism stakeholders in preserving the heritage and cultural value of the Ipoh Township. Limitations and suggestions for future research are also highlighted.

Road safety refers to the idea of methods and solutions to protect road users from being injured or killed in road accidents. Road users include pedestrians, cyclists, rickshaw and van drivers, and riders of public transport systems such as buses, trams, etc. According to the World Health Organization, more than one million people die in road accidents every year and about 50 million people are injured. Road accidents are identified as one of the major obstacles to sustainable development in Bangladesh. In developing countries such as Bangladesh Road, Safety is much lower in developing or underdeveloped countries and the rate of casualties in road accidents is much higher than in developed countries. The scenario is getting serious day by day. Therefore, Dhaka City has been witnessing tremendous growth in population and physical expansion. This study uses the qualitative research theory and the idea of sustainable development as analytical tools. The research was conducted to analyze and discuss road safety in Dhaka. The research method used in the research is descriptive qualitative research with various primary and secondary sources of the studies. This research resulted in the various aspects of road safety in Bangladesh. The differences between theory and practice, domestic legal arrangements as well judicial decisions.

The 2030 Plan for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) was approved by the United Nations General Assembly in 2015 on the principle of “leaving no one behind” in order to achieve sustainable development for everyone. The global pandemic has forced a lot of people to become jobless and in fact the unemployment rate has been increasing since the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic across the globe. Youths have not been spared from this especially youth from the deprived population. This article looks into how the deprived young population can be empowered especially during the post pandemic era. The objectives of this article are to investigate and examine the post covid-19 recovery plan for young population in Malaysia and other jurisdictions to ensure that they are not left behind in nation building for sustainable futures. The main objective is thus to recommend the best practices and policy to be implemented to empower the deprived young population in the post pandemic era. A comparative study was conducted by analysing the policies in Malaysia and other selected jurisdictions. This article is basically emphasized on the current situation in Malaysia and the research was limited to secondary data becaused of the movement control order implemented in Malaysia to curb the spread of global pandemic. The findings of this article is to contribute to the policy makers in their effort to empower the youths from deprived society. Young people including those from the deprived population are the hope of stable future of the country.
