The purpose of this study is to study the influence of leadership, self-efficacy, and work engagement on high school teachers’ professional commitment at Siak Regency of Riau Province. This research uses the quantitative approach with the survey method. The population in this study were 96 high school teachers in Siak Regency of Riau Province. The results of this study indicate that; (1) There is a direct positive influence of leadership on high school teachers’ professional commitment. (2) There is a direct positive influence of self-efficacy on high school teachers’ professional commitment. (3) There is a direct positive influence of work engagement on high school teachers’ professional commitment. (4) There is a direct positive influence of leadership on self-efficacy. 5) There is a  direct positive influence of leadership on work engagement. (6) There is a direct positive influence of self-efficacy on work engagement.  Thus, the improvement of high school teachers’ professional commitment can be achieved well if there is strong influence from leadership, self-efficacy, and work engagemen which are well built. The purpose of this research to determine the effect of supervision, work culture, trust, and attitudes to the performance of public elementary-school principal of West Jakarta city. To describe how much influence the effect of supervision, the culture, and trust to performance of elementary public principals of West Jakarta city. The research method used is the survey method with causal techniques. Whereas to analyze the existing or influence between one variable with another using variable path analysis. The population of West Jakarta city, and sampling procedure using the technique of sample random sampling as much as 80 principals were taken randomly. Results of the study found that the supervision of variable turned out to have effects directly to the performance; work culture also has effects directly to the performance, and trust has effects directly to the performance. Whereas trust variables prove to have direct influence from supervision and work culture. Based on the findings above, it can be concluded that the variations that occur on performance variables are supervision, work culture, and trust variables.

The purpose of this study is to study the influence of leadership, happiness, interpersonal communication to normative commitment of public Junior High School teachers in Kampar Regency of Riau Province. This research uses a quantitative approach with the survey method. The sample of this research is 148 lecturers of civil servant status (PNS) at public Junior High Schools (SMP Negeri) located in Kampar Regency, which is collected from 4 schools, selected based on schools that get the highest National Examination (UN) and National Examination Integrity Index (IIUN) value at 4 sub-districts. The results of this study indicate that (1) leadership has a direct effect on the teacher's normative commitment, (2) happiness directly affects teacher's normative commitment, (3) interpersonal communication has a direct effect on teachers' normative commitment; (4) direct influence toward teacher interpersonal communication (5) happiness directly affects teacher's interpersonal communication, (6) leadership has a direct effect on teacher's happiness, so teacher's normative commitment can be improved if there is a good leadership behavior, happiness in workplace and intimacy in interpersonal communication. Especially for Kampar Regency of Riau Province, the region which is nicknamed “Riau Province' Veranda of Mecca”, to increase teachers' normative commitment is to facilitate the needs related to facilities and infrastructure, programs, activities that can improve science and practice values ​​to muslim teachers because based on the questionnaire results, the majority of teachers responded to the point that: "I pursue the teaching profession as worship to Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala", with a total score of 707. The statements of the teachers are in line with the Vision of RPJPD (Regional Long Term Development Plan) of Kampar Regency Year 2005-2025, namely: "Kampar Regency a County of Culture, Empowerment, within the Religious Society in the year of 2025", and explained to the explanation of the meaning contained in the vision, in point three, : "All components of Kampar regency are determined to make the religious society, where all aspects of life that are run are always based on religious values, in accordance with Kampar community motto to create Kampar district as “Riau Province' Veranda of Mecca”. This research aims to find the strentghs of iman and taqwa program management and the implementation of obedience values towards students’ behavior alteration. This research used qualitative approach with the method of case study. Research design and information were obtained through observation, interview, and analyzing documents. The data was analyzed by comparing the field data and the supporting theories through technique and source triangulation. Research result indicated that the iman and taqwa program management was in accordance with management principles, starting from the planning, organizing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating. The implementation of iman and taqwa program conducted by the OSIS board and there has been the habituation and internalization of obedience values in students’ daily behavior. Recommendations: first, to the principal, the weaknesses and strengths of the program should be made as the inspection in the program’s management. The weaknesses of the program were in the archiving process, findings of the program were not made as the discussion material for the official planning program. The strength in this program’s management is invoking all school elements, especially OSIS board is so good. Second, to the local government, the findings of this program should be made as the basis in arranging policy, such as facilitate a management training for the principal and the program’s supervisor and the recruitment of prospectrive principal has to have managerial capability.

This research was motivated by the work ethics of teachers in Muhammadiyah schools that were not good yet, where loyality and compliance to organization is still low and there is less concern with the morality of the job. The aim of this research is to study the influence of leadership behavior, organizational culture, and work motivation toward the work ethics of Muhammadiyah teachers in Pekanbaru of Riau Province. This research has used a survey method with the causal technique. Meanwhile, to analyze the influence between variables the path analysis is used. The path analysis requires of a significant linear regression relationship between two variables. Meanwhile, to calculate the coefficient of each path, a positive correlation coefficient of two variables is required. The population in this research is Muhammadiyah teachers in Pekanbaru of Riau Province of totally 172 teachers and the sampling is 120 teachers. The results of this study indicate that there is; (1) a direct positive influence of leadership behavior toward teachers' work ethic, (2) a direct positive influence  of organizational culture toward teachers' work ethics, (3) a direct positive influence of work motivation toward teachers' work ethics, (4) a direct positive influence of organizational culture toward work motivation, (5) a direct positive influence of leadership behavior toward work motivation. Thus, the improvement of work ethics of teachers can be achieved well if there is a strong influence of leadership behavior, organizational culture and well organized work motivation. The purpose of this study was to know how was the influence of democratic leadership style, organizational culture, commitment to the organization, confidence, and lecturers’ performance. How did the organizational culture affect organizational commitment, self-confidence, and lecturer performance. How did the organization's commitment to self-esteem, and how did it affect the learners’ performance.This paper was based on the results of research conducted at STKIP Hamzanwadi Selong college which was domiciled in Pancor Selong Sub-district, Lombok Timur regency of Nusa Tenggara Barat Province using survey method, taking samples from one population and using questionnaire as the instrument. Data collection technique was done through questionnaire with descriptive-verification design. The grain validity test is performed through empirical tests of instrument grains. The collecting data were analyzed using F- test and t-test. The results of testing hypothesis and data analysis showed that the democratic leadership style had a significantly influence on organizational culture, commitment to the organization, confidence and lecturers’ performance. Organizational culture had a significantly effect on commitment to the organization, confidence and lecturers’ performance. Commitment to the organization did  not have a positive effect on self-confidence, and confidence did not affect the lecturers’ performance.

This study aimed to determine how the planning, organizing, implementing and  monitoring of the CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) of EMP Malacca Strait SA in the field of education in Kepulauan Meranti Regency of Riau Province, held from June 2016 to September 2016. The research approach used was the qualitative approach (qualitative research). This qualitative research was more specifically directed to the use of the case study method. Data were collected from interviews, observations, study and documents. The data analysis used a method collated by Mathew B. Miles and Michael Huberment, which is called the interactive data analysis models by Burhan Bungin. Data were collected from interviews, observations, study and documents. The analysis consisted of three flows of activities that occurred simultaneously, namely induction, data presentation and conclusion/verification. The results showed that the planning of CSR education program was carried out together with stakeholders at the operation (collaborative), and this ensured that EMP MSSA’s CSR program was an integral part of the purpose or goal of the society at the local site. EMP MSSA organized the program by creating an internal special unit assigned to supervise the program; meanwhile, the special unit was under the control of the Communication Manager, who was assisted by the CSR Coordinator and CSR officer, who have competence and experience in handling CSR program. The CSR program of EMP MSSA was implemented in physical and non-physical forms, such as formal and non-formal education scholarships and education infrastructure assistance. This CSR program was conducted through ongoing assistance by the CSR Officers of EMP MSSA team so that all programs will benefit every year by involving the Community, the Company, and the Regional Government. The outcome of the CSR programs, both physical and non-physical education was directly very supportive of educational activities and the human resources in the District of the Kepulauan Meranti.Keywords: Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and education sector

THE EFFECTS OF SCHOOL SELF-`EVALUATION, QUALITY POLICY, QUALITY PLANNING, AND QUALITY IMPROVEMENT ON QUALITY ASSURANCE OF STATE JUNIOR SECONDARY SCHOOLS IN JAKARTA MUHAMAD EFENDI Education Management Study Program, postgraduate faculty, State University of Jakarta, Indonesia   ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is to find out the effects of school self-evaluation, quality policy, quality planning, and quality improvement on the quality assurance of State Junior Secondary Schools in Jakarta. The population of this study is two hundred and eighty nine state junior secondary schools. Empirical data was drawn from the research sample were collected by using questionnaires that have been checked for validity and reliability distributed to one hundred and sixty five state junior secondary schools. The data was analyzed using statistical package for social science (SPSS V.20) and Microsoft Excel package and it was presented in tables and bar graphs. The results of this study revealed: 1) Three factors have a significant direct positive effect on quality assurance are quality policy, quality planning, and quality improvement of State Junior Secondary Schools in Jakarta. 2) School self-evaluation has a significant direct positive effect on quality policy, quality planning, and quality improvementof State Junior Secondary Schools in Jakarta.3) The Quality policy has a significant direct effect on quality planning, and quality planning has a significant direct effect on quality of State Junior Secondary Schools in Jakarta. The researcher recommended the deployment of a culture of school self-evaluation activities, and all stakeholder play an active role in supporting the quality policy established by the school leadership and implement the quality plan as planned and educators to always improve the quality of learning and teaching in order to improve the quality of education in school. This research aims to know the implementation of quality assurance program in basic education which focused on need analysis, vision, mission and scholl purpose. In order to assure the quality, human resources preparation, program achievement process, quality assurance program achievement, and financial education. This research used evaluation method by using DEM which using descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection prosedure using interview, observation, and documentation. Research informan are headmaster, teachers, staff, student, and scholl committe. Data validity using data source and method triangulation. The result of this research shown that the implementation of quality assurance program for need analysis, vission, mission, and scholl purpose very good. Human resource have been good. Quality assurance achievement very good. Financial which related with program reports and controlling very good. So, me can conclude that the implementation of quality assurance classified into good category.   Keywords : program evaluation, quality assurance
