This chapter determines whether there is a long-run relationship among oil, copper, natural gas, export figures and import figures, and BIST 100. Within this context, the study employs monthly periods from January 2006 to June 2019. ADF, Fourier ADF, and Banerjee Cointegration Test were applied. Banerjee Cointegration Test revealed that copper, oil, and natural gas and import figures move together in the long run but the existence of the long-run relationship between the selected inputs and export figures and BIST 100 has not been found. This evidence can be interpreted as the change in oil, copper, and natural gas may influence the amount of Turkish import figures.

This study examines the effect of US monetary growth on Bitcoin trading volume. To achieve this purpose, firstly, the symmetric causality test is used. Following this test, another symmetric causality test is used to reveal a time-varying causal effect between variables. The data set covers the period from July 2010 to July 2019. The results of the first symmetric causality test, which considers the time interval of the study data as a whole, show that there is no causal relationship between variables. According to the results of the second causality test, these support the previous results substantially. However, an interesting detail is the causal relationship between variables for the period between April 2019 and July 2019. The reason for this relationship could be that investors who are indecisive during the current economic uncertainty add Bitcoin to their portfolios in response to the Federal Reserve's decisions.

GDP is considered as economic growth variable, R&D investments in GDP (%), and patent applications are considered as innovation variables. In light of these variables, panel data analyze is used. Unit root, Pedroni co-integration and FMOLS tests were applied with the order. As a result, the increase in patent applications and R&D investments was found to have a positive effect on economic growth.

This chapter tries to determine whether there is a causal relationship between exchange rate and foreign trade. The study includes monthly data between February 2003 and December 2018 including dollar foreign exchange selling rate and inflation related real exchange rate for exchange rate, and export amount, import amount, export increase/decrease rate, and import increase. Increase/decrease rate is used for foreign trade among other variables, for a total of 6 variables. According to the obtained results of Engle-Granger cointegration analysis, there is a cointegration between variables in the long run. However, according to the results of the Toda-Yamamoto causality analysis, it was understood that there is no causality relationship between exchange rate and foreign trade.

This chapter examines whether the central bank policy behaviors of E-7 countries are valid by using a Taylor type monetary policy response function. In this context, the policy response function of banks is analyzed by using monthly data for the 2008-2018 period. Then, unit root tests of ADF (Augmented Dickey Fuller), PP (Philips Perron), IPS (Im Peseran Shin) and LLC (Levin Lin Chu) were performed and analyzed by using Dumitrescu-Hurlin methodology. As a result of the analyses conducted using inflationary data, it was observed that short-term interest rates of the central bank affect price stability by causing inflation, but inflation rates did not cause an increase or decrease in short-term interest rates. According to the findings, although inflation does not cause interest rates to change in E7 countries, a causality relationship has emerged from interest rates to inflation rates. These results indicate that the monetary policies implemented in these countries are not carried out in accordance with the Taylor rule.

This chapter investigates the thesis in Turkey written in the field of behavioral finance. An important objective is to guide the relevant researchers who are missing in the fields in the literature. For this purpose, 60 theses written so far have been examined with bibliometric analysis method. The period range of these theses is 2003-2018. When Daniel Kahneman won the Nobel Prize in 2002, behavioral finance, which started to attract attention in our country, started to gain momentum especially in times of crisis when unexplained behaviors were explained by the concept of rational people. In addition, 49 of them consisted of master's degree and the remaining 11 were doctoral dissertations. State universities constitute a very large weight of the relevant universities. Studies on behavioral finance have been gathered under various topics. The most studied subject has “character traits of the investors”. This is followed by “investment in stocks” and “anomalies”.
