The subject of the article is to give a full analysis of the cascade type layouts in elements strengthening design in bending by gluing the fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) materials on their surfaces’ applicability and effectiveness. The research objectives are the substantiation elements cascade method application reinforcement with adhesive joints. Materials and methods are revealed in a few variants of FRP-reinforcement with application of FEM simulation. A number of diagrams and tables represent the results. The results are defined in the cost-effective efficient method presentation of the bent elements strengthening to increase their bearing capacity reserves, the features of the bonded joint behavior, the equations and formulae for the glue joint analysis and design. Conclusions are formulated in depicting the “cascade” reflects, the features of the proposed strengthening design, the base element unloading, which is gradual with each successive element attached. The design examples are oriented on the adhesive joints’ application possibility analysis of attaching the FRP elements. The results suggest the effective use possibility of the adhesive joints to strengthen rather stiff, including steel, elements in bending. The cascade method eliminates the indispensability of highly expensive high-strength materials, thereby reducing the reinforcement structures cost.

UML (Unfiled Modeling Language), known as the standard method for object-oriented (analysis and design) modeling, includes other languages which enables it to implement a prototype of the structure and behaviors of the product. This paper attempts to explore the observations about UML role on the cost of software maintenance, and hence on the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) of a software product. It is therefore important to investigate the benefits obtained through modeling..

Abstract This paper summarizes the assessment of the structural analysis and design of a floating foundation for offshore floating wind turbine (FWT) based on DNVGL standard and Eurocode in terms of economy and reliability. The wind loads are calculated using empirical equations. The wave loads are obtained and verified using various methods including hand calculation, AQWA and Flow-3D. It is found that the shell thickness could be reduced significantly by introducing the stiffeners (stringer or ring), which can decrease the weight of the hull and lower the cost. While DNVGL and Eurocode yield similar design solutions if using plane shell structures, Eurocode significantly underestimates the buckling resistance of stiffened cylindrical shells.

Abstract Recent developments in the social sphere also cause an increase in transportation activities. Increased transport activities lead to the construction of new roads and bridges. Different bridge construction systems are available to overcome large span obstacles. Cable-stayed bridges are more advantageous construction systems than other bridge type building carrier systems in overcoming large spans through suspension cables. Therefore, it is also widely preferred by designers. The biggest factor in the development of cable-stayed bridges is undoubtedly steel cables. Cable-stayed bridges are bridge structures that become lighter with the increase of the span, which has a more expanded flexibility, and that includes a cable system with the effect of nonlinear factors. Costs of cable-stayed bridges vary according to different spans. The span as well as the deck material used in the bridge system have a great effect on the cost. In cable-stayed bridge systems, decks are constructed of reinforced concrete and steel. The costs of cable-stayed bridges are widely discussed around the world; therefore, the effect of the span and deck material on the cost of cable-stayed bridges is being investigated. The main bearing elements of such bridges are cables, decks, and towers, and among these elements, the tower bridge carries all the weight of the bridge, even other external loads such as vehicle, wind, etc. In this study, the three-dimensional model of the cable, deck and tower elements that make up the cable-stayed bridge system was created and analysed using the CSI Bridge Program. The AASHTO LRFD Standards, which are widely used in the analysis of bridge systems with the CSI Bridge program and the design of bridge systems in the world, were used. In the study, the analysis and designs of cable-stayed bridges with reinforced concrete and steel deck at 250, 500, 750, 1000, 1500, 2000 meters span were carried out. The amount of materials and costs used in the analysis and design of the cable-stayed bridge systems were obtained and the results were interpreted.

The vertical stress exerted by the vehicles will be high in a populated road and to increase the bearing capacity of subgrade characteristics, geosynthetic material can be used. In the current study different geosynthetic material such as geo-grid, geo-textile and geo-membrane were used to as a subgrade reinforcement member inside the CBR mould for understanding the improvement in subgrade  for single, two and three geosynthetic layering  in the CBR mould. The results show there was a constant increase in the bearing with the increase in a number of layers and this improvement varied with type of geosynthetic materials also. Among three geosynhteic materials, geogrid shows improved CBR characteristics. Finally, Cost analysis and design of flexible pavement were carried for an optimum number of layers for geogrids. There was reduction of about 6.38% in the cost of construction when using geogrid as subgrade reinforcement member.

The purpose of the article is to justify the approach to assessing of the valuation of information resources in the analysis of cybersecurity entrepreneurship. Like any other economic resource, information has a value that you need to not only increase, but also be able to protect during the process of entrepreneurship. The most developed resource screening tool with the special features is structured analysis and design technique of real options. Real options are defined as valuable, rare and difficult to reproduce abilities or resources that create exclusive opportunities for the entrepreneur to choose strategies for developing his activities. Each real option has its own specifics, which necessitates a certain modification of the general methodology for specific conditions. When choosing a strategy for ensuring cybersecurity as a basic protected resource, structural (organizational) capital should be recognized, since an entrepreneur does not have legal ownership rights for employees and, accordingly, for their human capital. Nevertheless, the costs of protecting intellectual property arising from joint organizational and labor activities should be taken into account. According to statistics, up to 40% of all information leakages are associated with relationships within the organization and the attitude of staff towards work, respectively, the cost of a protected resource should take into account the level and state of organizational culture. Proceeding from special aspects of cybersecurity, it should be resorted to indirect measurements of the volatility of the main resource. The methods and indicators of indirect measurements should follow from the methods for assessing the main resource in the option, which will be the directions of subsequent studies.

Abstract This paper presents variants of propulsion systems as the main factor in the analysis and design of the power system of a sea-going or river vessel; this topic is also under research study within two doctoral theses. The analysis of the ship - main propulsion- thruster assembly is made according to the requirements imposed by the market economy. The parameters to be considered when choosing a propulsion system are: the cost of the investment, the specific cost of transport that depends both on the specific fuel consumption and on the number and level of pay of the crew members operating the propulsion system, the propulsion efficiency, the high safety in handling, and the control accessibility during operation. The Pod and Azipod propulsion systems are analyzed in terms of advantages and disadvantages compared to conventional propulsion systems. The azimuth thrusters can ensure maximum push in any direction regardless the speed of the ship, and thus can change the course of the ship according to its handling needs. The azimuth thrusters do not only operate in horizontal but also in oblique angles, providing the ship with great maneuverability, even at low speeds, where classical rudder systems have poor performance

Proper cost control and management is pivotal for the success of construction projects and companies alike. However, several of the systems in usage are fragmented, especially in regards to how cost data at the project, department and company levels are portrayed. This is particularly observed when companies carry a sizeable portfolio of projects in diverse and sometimes remote locations. This calls for establishing an integrated cost control and management system capable of addressing these deficiencies while portraying the cost status at various levels of the company’s chain of command. Paper introduces an information system (IS) developed for such purpose and which pools multiple actors in the company’s hierarchy. It has the potential to streamline the dataflow between the different departments and throughout the company’s chain of command. System’s functionality is based on the Object-Oriented (O-O) approach and the Unified Modelling Language (UML) known in System Analysis and Design (SAD) of computer-based IS.

Currently the development of information technology has driven the development of e-commerce which is quite promising in Indonesia. This development has brought an era of new digital-based creative developments. Agriculture as one of the economic and community welfare bases in Indonesia needs to be developed and supported with digital finance. Several agricultural markets have been established in Indonesia to help farmers to participate in digital economic activities. Some e-commerce systems that have been built in Indonesia only help the downstream process or the marketing process. While farmers need information that can help them for agricultural purposes. Machine learning technology uses data collected in the agricultural marketplace system to be used in building a social assessment system. Recommendations for agricultural activities are adjusted to the cost of agriculture, location of agriculture, pricing of agricultural commodities at the time of receipt and timing of agricultural activities. In this research an analysis and design of an agricultural e-commerce system will be provided to provide farmers to sell their agricultural products at competitive prices and help farmers to obtain information that can be used to plan further agricultural activities.
