Kelor (Moringa oleifera) merupakan tanaman fungsional yang mengandung nutrisi dan antioksidan. Daun tanaman ini digunakan sebagai bahan pakan karena nutriennya yang lengkap. Tujuan penelitian adalah mengkaji pengaruh substitusi tepung daun kelor dalam pakan itik pengging periode layer pada bobot karkas dan ukuran serabut muskulus pektoralis. Rancangan penelitian menggunakan 60 ekor itik dalam Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri atas 5 perlakuan. Pengulangan tiap perlakuan dilakukan 3 kali dengan 4 ekor itik setiap ulangan. Kelompok perlakuan terdiri atas kontrol (K0) menggunakan pakan standar; K1 menggunakan 97,5% pakan standar dan 2,5% tepung daun kelor; K2 menggunakan 95% pakan standar dan 5% tepung daun kelor; K3 menggunakan 92,5% pakan standar dan 7,5% tepung daun kelor; K4 menggunakan 90% pakan standar dan 10% tepung daun kelor. Analisis data menggunakan one-way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). Hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa substitusi pakan dengan tepung daun kelor tidak memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan (P>0,05) terhadap bobot karkas, bobot muskuli pektoralis, dan ukuran serabut. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah substitusi tepung daun kelor pada pakan itik pengging periode bertelur tidak memberikan dampak pada bobot karkas, muskulus pektoralis, dan diameter serabut otot. Nutrien lebih banyak diarahkan untuk produksi telur daripada sintesis karkas.Moringa (Moringa oleifera) is a functional plant that contains lots of nutrients and antioxidants. The leaves on this plant are often used as a feed ingredient because of their potential to increase growth and cells development. The objective of the study is to examine moringa leaf inclusion meal on carcass weight and size of pectoral musculus fibrils of sexually mature laying ducks. The study used a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments. Treatment was repeated 3 times. Feeding were carried out at 07.00 WIB and 16.00 WIB. Treatment Control (K0) used standard feed; treatment 1 (K1) used 97.5% standard feed and 2.5% moringa leaf meal; treatment 2 (K2) used 95% standard feed and 5% Moringa leaf meal; treatment 3 (K3) used 92.5% standard feed and 7.5% Moringa leaf meal; treatment 4 (K4) used 90% standard feed and 10% moringa leaf meal. Data analysis used Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and regression test using SPSS version 25. The results showed that feed substitution on Moringa leaves did not have a significant effect on carcass weight and fibril size of treated and control ducks. In conclusion, substitution of Moringa leaf meal in pengging ducks feed on layer period had no impact of carcass and pectoral muscles weight, and could not change the diameter of pectoral muscles fibril. Nutrient and energy leads to egg production than carcass synthesis.

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Moringa oliefera leaf meal on the performance of quail production including feed consumption and egg production.  This study used a layer phase quail with premium strains.  The number of quails used was 300 at 34 weeks age.  This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) method.  Consisting of 4 treatments and 5 replications, where each replication used 15 quails.  The treatments used in the study were P0 as a control or without the addition of Moringa leaf flour, P1 1% Moringa leaf flour, P2 2% Moringa leaf flour, P3 3% Moringa leaf flour. This study concluded that the addition of Moringa leaf flour to the ration with a percentage of 3% significantly (P <0.05) increased the FCR value.  Egg productivity had no significant effect (P> 0.05) on the addition of Moringa leaf meal with a percentage of 1%, 2%, and 3%.

ABSTRAK  Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian bubuk daun Moringa oleifera (MO) terhadap kuantitas dan kualitas semen sapi peranakan ongole (PO). Metode penelitian menggunakan percobaan lapang dengan rancangan acak lengkap dengan tiga perlakuan pemberian MO sebesar 0 kg/ekor/hari (P1); 0,05 kg/ekor/hari (P2) dan 0,1 kg/ekor/hari (P3). Analsis data menggunakan one way analysis of variance. Masing-masing perlakuan terdiri atas empat ekor dengan tiga periode pengamatan sebagai ulangan, yaitu periode pertama dan ketiga tanpa MO, dan periode kedua diberikan MO pada P2 dan P3. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa volume dan pH semen perlakuan P1, P2 dan P3 tidak berbeda semua periode pengamatan. Motilitas massa spermatozoa P2 dan P3 periode kedua dan ketiga menunjukan nilai +++ berbeda nyata (P<0,05) dibandingkan dengan P1 (++); motilitas individu  perlakuan P1 menunjukkan nilai terendah 60,56±2,94 % (P<0,05) dibandingkan P2 dan P3 pada periode kedua dan ketiga (75,50±2,29 dan 72,50±2,34%). Konsentrasi spermatozoa P2 dan P3 periode kedua dan ketiga menunjukkan rata-rata  >1.350 juta/ml berbeda nyata (P<0,05) daripada P1 (876±152juta/ml), sedangkan total spermatozoa motil menunjukkan nilai tertinggi 5.647±829 juta/ml pada P3 periode kedua.Viabilitas spermatozoa P2 dan P3 menunjukkan nilai >88-89 % beda nyata (P<0,05) daripada P1 (<84 %) pada periode kedua dan ketiga, sedangkan nilai abnormalitas spermatozoa yang terbaik adalah P2 sebesar 4,30% pada periode kedua dan P3 sebesar 5,33% pada periode ketiga. Disimpulkan pemberian bubuk daun MO dengan dosis 0,1 kg/ekor/hari dapat memperbaiki kuantitas dan kualitas semen (viabilitas dan total spermatozoa motil) sapi pejantan PO.Kata kunci:  kuantitas dan kualitas semen, Moringa oleifera, sapi pejantan ABSTRACTThe research aimed to determine the effect of Moringa oleifera (MO) leaf powder on the quantity and quality of semen of ongole crossbreed. The research method used was a field experiment with a completely randomized design with three treatments giving MO of 0 kg/head/day (P1); 0.05 kg/head/day (P2) and 0.1 kg/head/day (P3). Each treatment consisted of four heads with three periods of observation as replications, namely the first and third periods without MO, and the second period was given MO on P2 and P3. Data analysis used a one-way analysis of variance. The results showed that the volume and pH of semen treated P1, P2, and P3 didn’t different in all observation periods. The second and third period spermatozoa mass motility of P2 and P3 showed that the value of +++ was significantly different (P<0.05) compared to P1 (++); Individual motility of P1 treatment showed the lowest value 60,56±2,94 % (P<0.05) compared to P2 and P3 in the second and third periods (75,50±2,29 and 72,50±2,34%). The second and third periods of P2 and P3 spermatozoa concentrations showed an average of >1,350 million/cc significantly different (P<0.05) than P1 (876±152 million/cc), while the total motile spermatozoa showed the highest value of 5,647±829 million/cc in the second period P3. The spermatozoa viability of P2 and P3 showed values >88-89% significantly different (P<0.05) than P1 (<84%) in the second and third periods, while the best spermatozoa abnormalities were P2 at 4.30% in the second period and P3 at 5.33% in the third period. It was concluded that the giving of MO leaf powder at a dose of 0,1 kg/head/day could improve the quantity and quality of semen (viability and total motile spermatozoa) of Ongole Crossbreed bulls. This research aimed to determine the effect of different energy and protein level giving in Arabic chicken on feed consumption, egg production and feed conversion. The materials used for this experiment were 80 heads of arabic chicken 5 months age and maintained for 6 weeks (36 days). The method used was completely randomized design (CRD) which consists of 4 treatments and 10 replications that R1 (protein 15% and EM 2 500 Kcal), R2 (protein 16% and EM 2 600 Kcal), R3 (protein 17% and EM 2 700 Kcal) and R4 (protein 18% and EM 2 800 Kcal). Analysis of variance showed that treatment significantly (P<0.05) on feed consumption, egg production and feed conversion. It could be concluded that more increasing energy and protein, the higher egg production, feed consumption and generates optimal feed conversion. Energy and protein with a protein level of 18% and energy 2 800 Kcal kg-1 showed better performance.

PERFORMANS OF QUAIL (Coturnix – coturnix japonica) PROVIDED CONCH PADDY (Pila ampullacea) FLOUR  AS A SUBSTITUTE FOR FISH FLOUR IN THE RATION. This research aims to determine the extent to which the use of conch paddy (Pila ampullacea) flour as a substitute for fish flour in the ration on the performances of Quail (Coturnix- Coturnix japonica). This research used 60 quail 5-week-old female and for data collection was performed 8 weeks. The design used was a completely randomized design (CRD), which consists of 4 treatments and 5 replications. Such treatment is the conch paddy flour with some level of giving in the ration, which is : R0 = 0% conch paddy flour + 15% fish flour, R1 = 5% conch paddy flour + 10% fish flour, R2 = 10% conch paddy flour + 5% fish flour, and R3 = 15% conch paddy flour + 0% fish flour. Variables measured in order to see the response of quail to the conch paddy flour is feed consumption, egg production and feed conversion. Results of analysis of variance showed that the treatment was not significantly different on feed consumption, egg production and feed conversion. Based on the results of this research indicate conch paddy flour up to the level of 15% can be used as a substitute for fish flour in the ration of quail. This study aims to determine the evaluation of the percentage of super native chicken carcasses by providing fermented corn straw. The research design used in the study was a Completely Randomized Design consisting of 5 treatments and 4 replications namely P0 (ration without treatment), P1 (ration containing 5% fermented corn straw), P2 (ration containing 10% fermented corn straw), P3 (ration ration containing 15% fermented corn straw) and P4 (ration containing 20% fermented corn straw). The data obtained were then analyzed using the Analysis of variance (ANOVA) and if the results were influential then proceed with the Duncan Distance test. The results showed that the treatment had no significant effect (P> 0.05) on the variables of life weight, carcass weight and percentage of carcass cut. The highest living weight was found in the P0 treatment (without using fermented corn straw) with the acquisition of an average value of 850.75 gr / head and produced the highest carcass weight of 197.25 gr. The highest percentage of carcass cuts was obtained at P3 treatment (15% fermented corn straw) with an average value of 23.88%.

This study aims to determine the effect of 1% lysine, 0.5% methionine and the combination of lysine and methionine (1% + 0.5%) in the ration on the weight gain of carcass parts of native chickens. The design used in this study was a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments and 3 replications, while the treatments were R0 (control) native chickens that were not given additional lysine and methionine, R1 native chickens were given feed containing lysine 1 %, R2 of free-range chickens given feed containing 0.5% methionine, R3 of native chickens given feed containing lysine and methionine (1% + 0.5%). The parameters observed were the weight gain in the chest, thighs, wings, and back. The data obtained were analyzed by analysis of variance. The results showed that the provision of rations which were added with the combination of amino acids lysine and methionine had a very significant effect (P> 0.01) on the weight gain of the carcass, thighs and backs of native chickens aged 10 weeks. Based on the results of this study it can be concluded that the combination of the amino acids lysine and methionine in the ration gave the best effect on the weight gain of carcass parts of native chicken aged 10 weeks. Based on the results of the study, it is suggested to add the combination of lysine (1%) and methionine (0.5%) in the native chicken ration.   Keywords: native chickens, carcass weight, lysine, methionine

<p class="p1">The objective of the research was to comperative the final weight, carcass weight and carcass percentages of some broiler strains and and to know the strain that produced the highest final weight, carcass weight and percetage. The research method was survey with design based on Completely Randomized Design. The three strains of broilers were Hybro, Cobb and Hubbard. At 5 weeks old, the chicken were picked up from broiler farms which had the same management. Each was replicated 9 times. Parameters observed were final and carcass weight and carcass percentage. Collected data were analyzed by analysis of variance. The observed strains had no significant difference on final weight, carcass weight and carcass percetages.</p>

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving Moringa oliefera L leaf meal through feed as an anti-bacterial to prevent infection with E.ictaluri bacteria in catfish (Pangasius hypopthalmus). This research was conducted from March 2020 to April 2020 at the Fish Health Laboratory, Freshwater Aquaculture Fisheries Center (BPBAT) Jambi. The research method used was a completely randomized design with five treatments and three replications. Catfish were fed for 14 days with treatment feed with each treatment (A. 5% / kg feed), (B. 10% / kg feed), (C. 15% / kg feed), (D. Commercial feed ) and (E. Commercial feed). and on the 16th day the fish were injected with the Edwarsiella ictaluri bacteria, and survival was observed from day 16 to day 26. The results showed that treatment of moringa leaf meal (C. 15% / kg of feed), could prevent bacterial infection E. ictaluri in catfish with the highest survival rate reaching 66.67%, fish growth of 5.78 grams / head, and feed conversion of 0.18% / kg of feed.

 Daun kelor (Moringa oleifera) merupakan bagian tanaman yang mengandung nutrisi pendukung pertumbuhan tulang ekstremitas ayam jantan, meliputi protein dan mineral kalsium. Atas dasar potensi tersebut, dilakukan penelitian yang bertujuan untuk menganalisis pakan tambahan tepung daun kelor pada pertumbuhan tulang ekstremitas ayam jantan. Parameter uji penelitian ini meliputi panjang sayap, panjang tibiotarsus, panjang tarsometatarsus, panjang badan, dan panjang paruh. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri atas 5 perlakuan meliputi P0 (pakan standar 100%), P1, P2, P3 dan P4 berturut-turut mendapat tambahan tepung daun kelor 1%, 2%, 3%, dan 4% dengan pakan standar 99%, 98, 97%, dan 96%, tiap perlakuan diulang 3 kali. Data dianalisis menggunakan Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) dan uji lanjut Duncan Multi Range Test(DMRT) (P<0,05). Hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa pemberian tepung daun kelor berpengaruh signifikan terhadap pertumbuhan panjang sayap dan panjang tarsometararsus, namun tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap pertumbuhan panjang tibiotarsus, panjang badan, dan panjang paruh. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah penambahan tepung daun kelor pada pakan berpotensi meningkatkan panjang tulang sayap dan tulang tarsometatarsus yang merupakan bagian dari tulang ekstremitas ayam jantan Moringa leaf (Moringa oleifera) is part of plant that contains nutrients that support rooster extremity bone growth, including protein and calcium minerals. Base on this potential, doing research to analyzing  effect of supplemented Moringa meal on growth of rooster extremity bones. The test parameters of this study include wing length, tibiotarsus length, tarsometatarsus length, body length, and beak length. The research used completely randomized design (CRD) which consisted of 5 treatments including P0 (standard feed 100%), P1, P2, P3, and P4, respectively, received moringa leaf additions of 1%, 2%, 3%, and 4% with standard feed of 99%, 98, 97%, and 96%, each treatment was repeated 3 times. Data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and Duncan Multi Range Test (DMRT) advanced test (P <0.05). The results showed that supplementation of Moringa meal was significantly different (P<0.05) of the wing and tarsometatarsal length. However, it was not significantly different (P>0.05) in tibiotarsal length, body length, and beak length. Supplementation of Moringa leaf meal on the diet of rooster did not increase extremity bones at grower phase. The conclusion was addition of Moringa leaf meal in diet potentially increase wing and tarsometatarsal bone length which are part of rooster extremity bones.

The experiment was carried out to study the effect on fermented rice hull in diets supplemented with purplesweet potato (Ipomoea batatas L.) leaves meal on performance of bali ducks. A completely randomized design withfive treatments such as diet without rice hull (A), diet contaning 10% rice hull (B), diet containing 10% fermentedrice hull (C), ration contaning 9% rice hull and 1% purple sweet potato leaf meal (D), diet containing 9% fermentedrice hull and 1% purple sweet potato leaf meal (E). Each treatment in three replications consists of 5 female ducks.The variables observed were feed consumption, antioxidant capacity, total egg weight and FCR, and total eggs, eggproduction per day, and means of eggs weight. It showed that diet feed consumption of ducks fed E treatment found3.32% lower (P<0,05), total eggs 47,56% higher (P<0,05) compared to A. In addition, E treatment can increasetotal amount of eggs, egg production per day, and 29,16%, 29,15% dan 12,12% means of eggs (P<0,05) compared toA treatment. It can be concluded that ducks fed diets containing fermented rice hull and purple sweet potato leafmeal supplemented can improve efficiency of diets and production of eggs.
