The article represents a brief report on the work of the International Symposium: «Scientific School of L.S. Vygotsky: Traditions and Innovations» and VI th International ISCAR Summer University for PhD Students and young scholars, that were held in Moscow State University of Psychology & Education on June, 28 — July, 3 in 2016 in commemoration of the 120th anniversary of the great Russian psychologist L.S. Vygotsky. The main goals of the events organised by MSUPE include: analysis of the basic principles and the system of concepts of L.S. Vygotsky’s scientific school, discussion of the current state and the prospect for the development of the cultural-historical theory in Russia and abroad, integration of the ideas of the cultural-historical psychology and activity approach in various kinds of social and educational practices, as well as conducting research in the international scientific space. Symposium gathered the world’s leading experts and young scholars in the field of cultural-historical theory and activity approach from 19 countries, including United Kingdom, Australia, Switzerland, Greece, Brasil and USA.

The paper describes outcomes of a study that was carried out within the research project of the Moscow State University of Psychology & Education called “The Scientific School of L.I. Bozhovich: Analyzing the Current Situation”. The study explored how the ideas developed within L.I. Bozhovich’s school of thought evolved at the end of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st; it revealed a growing interest in these ideas among scholars and an increase in the number of works aimed at gaining new data and refining Bozhovich’s concept in modern settings. The paper highlights the most essential features of current situation and future perspectives of Bozhovich’s school of thought and also gives a detailed overview of the International Conference “L.I. Bozhovich’s Scientific Legacy and Modern Psychology of Education” that was held in Moscow on September 24—25, 2018 by the Moscow State University of Psychology & Education together with the Psychological Institute of the Russian Academy of Education.

AbstractThe article introduces readers to the current state of Slovak studies in Russia. The fate of Slavic studies in Russia is complicated and it has had its ups (late 19th and early 20th century) and downs (1920s and 1930s), but until now there has been a multidisciplinary tradition of studying all Slavic peoples, their languages, literature, history and culture. The article focuses on the study of Slovak language, literature, history and culture at Moscow State University, the Institute for Slavic Studies in Moscow, and Saint-Petersburg State University. It deals with the main researchers and their work and publications. The article is based on general research into the history of Slavic studies carried out by leading Russian scientists.

The article tells about the life and main directions of scientific research of the outstanding Soviet and Russian scientist in the field of mechanics, Academician Gorimir Gorimirovich Cherny (1923–2012); as well as it gives an overview of some of the results obtained to date in the development of his work in the field of analytical study of the dynamics of shock waves in inhomogeneous media, determining the optimal shape of bodies in a supersonic flow, exothermic flows, boundary layer theory, transonic flows. A graduate of Moscow University, G.G. Cherny was a participant in the Great Patriotic War, after its end he played a big role in the development of many areas of science, the organization of scientific research, the education of scientific personnel. He was one of the founders of the Research Institute of Mechanics at Moscow State University, held managerial positions in scientific and educational institutions, and created a scientific school in the field of mechanics. Research by G.G. Cherny, in the main, referred to high-speed gas dynamics. He carried out analytical studies of the subtle issues of calculating flows in various conditions and devices. Many of his results have become classic.

The article is dedicated to the 90th birthday of Leonid Antonovich Serafimov, an outstanding scientist, Doctor of Engineering Sciences, professor at the M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University of Fine Chemical Technologies. Serafimov made an invaluable contribution to the development of the theoretical foundations of chemical technology. The article briefly describes the research conducted by the scientific school "Theoretical Foundations and Technological Principles of Mass-Transfer and Combined Processes of Organic Synthesis" founded and led by him. Special attention is given to the ideological component of his scientific and pedagogical activity; and his active civil position, encyclopedic knowledge and remarkable personal qualities are also duly noted.

In this article the authors reflected the current state of vocational education and the influence of all the problems of the system on the state of the labor force. The quantity, quality and education areas of the high schools and colleges have been analyzed, the number of graduates, the realities and possibilities of their employment, the needs of employers for skilled workers in specific professions, government policies in attracting and retaining young people in the region and so forth. The article focuses on identifying the main challenges and constraints of professional education and determining the strengths and capabilities of the system development in the region. The article presents the results of research conducted by the lecturers of the Faculty of Public Administration Lomonosov Moscow State University. The study was devoted to the analysis of the labor resources of the Far Eastern Federal District and the territories of priority development in the 2014–2015.

The review presents a discussion at the session of the Scientific Council of Moscow State University on the development of modern economic theory and Russian model of social and economic development. The session, held on November 28, 2019 at the Faculty of Economics in Lomonosov Moscow State University, was dedicated to two dates - the 215th anniversary of the Department of Political Economy and the 115th anniversary of N. A. Tsagolov. The topic of scientific discussion: “Interdisciplinary approach - the key to solving theoretical and practical problems of modern time”. During the discussion, issues related to interdisciplinary method in economic theory, University traditions and modern experience of interdisciplinary method in economic science were discussed. Speakers also concentrated on the problems of national political economy development, inseparably connected with the history of the Department of Political Economy at the Faculty of Economics in Moscow University. Special attention was paid to the period of the development of the Department under the leadership of N. A. Tsagolov and formation of the scientific school connected with his name. The discussion focused on the interdisciplinary approach developed by “Tsagolov School”, the possibility of its development under the conditions of a new scientific and technological revolution, and its role in the effective study of economy and society in the twenty-first century.
