The article considers the main stages in formation of the method for the comparative historical typology the first steps of which were made by A.N. Veselovsky in the second half of the 19 th century. For example, the point elaborated upon in “Historical Poetics” concerning consequential evolution of genres and poetic forms that reflect social reality became the starting point for the further development of that method. Work in this direction was continued later on by V.M. Zhirmunsky. At the beginning of his career in academia he dwelled upon the issues of literary theory and – while keeping “Historical Poetics” in high regard – continued Veselovsky’s work in the field of literary studies. However, turning to folklore material, he managed to develop the basic principles of the comparative historical method: first of all, he had analysed and systematised the extensive epic material, what allowed him to reveal in the folklore work the national and the general, for the successful search and analysis of which the method was necessary. The author analysis of the works of Zhirmunsky, that contain his main ideas, and considers not only his suggestions on how to work with folk material, and also the features of the comparative typological method, as well as the development of Zhirmunsky’s ideas in the works of his students, followers and scientists who came to a similar result on their own (for example, V.Ya. Propp) and influenced further refinement of the methods of comparative typology.

Presented paper aims to compare internationalization of Lithuanian and Norwegian SMEs by exploring the main motives and barriers restricting internationalization process. The authors strive to reveal the patterns of internationalization taking into account the aspects of main theoretical models. The research is based on the main ideas of stage, network and international entrepreneurship approaches. The main motives and barriers restricting internationalization process are based on the previous studies. In order to compare internationalization patterns of Lithuanian and Norwegian SMEs, quantitative research has been performed. The quantitative research is based on responses to a questionnaire embracing various aspects of internationalization. The sample of 300 SMEs was selected taking into consideration previous research. The survey allows concluding that Lithuanian SMEs emphasise geographic proximity as the most important criteria for international market selection. On the other hand, Norwegian SMEs perceive variables of international entrepreneurship theory as the important contributory factors in internationalization process. The authors conclude that Lithuanian SMEs rely on exporting; meanwhile Norwegian SMEs choose subcontracting/licensing or own representative abroad. Hence, Norwegian SMEs are seen at the more advanced stage of internationalization. Authors of the research have elaborated proposals, which are useful for further development of Lithuanian SMEs and take into consideration experience of Norwegian SMEs. The presented paper will contribute to the International Entrepreneurship Forum by providing new insights into further development of SMEs of Lithuania and Norway taking into consideration opportunities and threats.

This review is based on an extended study of the litera ture and experience in the detailed simulation of guided missiles and similar systems. After a brief recapitulation of the main ideas behind the classical methods for numer ically solving ordinary differential equations, the recent literature on this subject is surveyed and discussed. Pre dictor, predictor-corrector, and Runge-Kutta methods of various orders are then compared experimentally and theoretically. The theoretical comparison is based on the performance in computing the steady-state frequency response of linearized systems and includes consideration of accuracy, numerical stability, recovery of continuous outputs from sampled outputs, and computing time per step. The factors determining the optimum order are brought out. Other procedures such as different step lengths in different parts of the problem, special-purpose difference equations for "stiff" linear sections of the prob lem, and procedures for inserting wideband noise are dis cussed. The methods currently in use with a number of simulation languages are then summarized, and it is found that there is little consensus on "best" methods. It is concluded that further development is needed of meth ods for handling (a) stiff equations, including the non linear case, (b) mixed step lengths, (c) noise insertion, (d) discontinuities, and (e) recovery of continuous out puts. A list of 75 references is given.

The person of Boris Grintchenko as the worker on cultural, educational and social field and the popularizer of the national upbringing and national education and the bright representative of the Ukrainian national elite of the end of 19-th – the beginning of 20-th centuries is studied in the article. The study of the main ideas of the outstanding scientist and publisher B. Grinchenko allows you to appeal to the authority of the past, gives you the opportunity to find support in the Ukrainian tradition of moral and aesthetic development based on the best achievements of ethnic pedagogy. In connection with the recent events in our country, more attention was paid to the problems of upbringing. Therefore it is so important to appeal to the richest heritage of the teachers of the past, and B. Grichenko, in particular, because he saw the main goal of his life in the awakening of national selfconsciousness. The main lines that reveal the emergence of B. Grinchenko as a representative of the Ukrainian national elite are: 1) the influence of the family environment in which the scholar was brought up; 2) the historical conditions in which B. Grinchenko lived; 3) sociocultural and spiritual and philosophical development of the scientist during life; 4) preserving their own Ukrainianness and national identity; 5) the presence of a significant contribution to the development of Ukraine; 6) the combination of one’s fate with that of Ukraine. The article deals with the historiographical traditions in the study of the figure of Boris Grinchenko. Separated the main stages of historiography concerning studies of the B.D. Grinchenko`s figure emphasizing on the modern stage of development of the problem based on the methodology, problematic - thematic content and the source base. Suggested further development of the study of the problem.

We firstly demonstrate the main ideas of quantum theory for mesoscopic electric circuits, which we proposed several years ago. In the theory, the importance of the charge discreteness in a mesoscopic electric circuit is addressed. As a further development, we discuss the mesoscopic electric circuit in the presence of linear dissipation as well as magnetic flux. We propose a quantum Kirchoff equation for the LCR circuit and discuss the oscillations for different criterion factors. We also solve the energy spectra and eigenvalues of the physical current under a soluble symmetry hypothesis.

The Conclusion offers a brief account of the fate of the thinkers whose work has been analysed after the 1917 revolution and the further development of deification as a motif in the post-revolutionary work of Berdiaev and Bulgakov. It considers the ‘modernism’ of Russian religious thought of the inter-revolutionary period in light of the inter-war debate between the ‘modernists’ in exile and the younger generation, the representatives of the ‘neo-patristic synthesis’ (V. Lossky and G. Florovsky). Whilst it was this younger generation that introduced deification to the ‘West’ and made possible its emergence as a major topic of theological scholarship (which it remains to this day), its achievement rests on foundations laid by the protagonists of this book. Finally, the Conclusion sums up the main ideas that the book has attempted to express.

The monograph examines the issues of the origin, formation and development of private international law (MCHP) as a science and an independent branch of law. The development of conflict (conflict of laws) law is shown starting from the XII century and ending with the beginning of the XX century, more precisely, 1917. In particular, the main historical stages of the development of the science of private international law in Europe by lawyers from Italy, France, Holland, Germany, England and Russia up to the beginning of the XX century are highlighted. The main ideas and doctrines in the science of MCHP are outlined, a number of author's provisions and conclusions regarding the covered topic are expressed, as well as proposals for the further development of the science of MCHP. It is recommended to students, masters, postgraduates and teachers of this discipline in educational organizations of professional education, to anyone who is interested in private international law.

Action Semantics is a framework for the formal description
of programming languages. Its main advantage over other frameworks
is pragmatic: action-semantic descriptions (ASDs) scale up smoothly to
realistic programming languages. This is due to the inherent extensibility
and modifiability of ASDs, ensuring that extensions and changes to
the described language require only proportionate changes in its description.
(In denotational or operational semantics, adding an unforeseen
construct to a language may require a reformulation of the entire description.)
After sketching the background for the development of action semantics,
we summarize the main ideas of the framework, and provide a simple
illustrative example of an ASD. We identify which features of ASDs
are crucial for good pragmatics. Then we explain the foundations of
action semantics, and survey recent advances in its theory and practical
applications. Finally, we assess the prospects for further development
and use of action semantics.
The action semantics framework was initially developed at the University
of Aarhus by the present author, in collaboration with David Watt
(University of Glasgow). Groups and individuals scattered around five
continents have since contributed to its theory and practice.

In this chapter, we describe established and recently proposed variants of PSO. Due to the rich PSO literature, the choice among different variants proved to be very difficult. Thus, we were compelled to set some criteria and select those variants that best suit them. For this purpose, we considered the following criteria: 1. Sophisticated inspiration source. 2. Close relationship to the standard PSO. 3. Wide applicability in problems of different types. 4. Performance and theoretical properties. 5. Number of reported applications. 6. Potential for further development and improvements. Thus, we excluded variants based on complicated hybrid schemes that combine other algorithms, where it is not evident which algorithm triggers which effect, as well as over-specialized schemes that refer only to one problem type or instance. Under this prism, we selected the following methods: unified PSO, memetic PSO, composite PSO, vector evaluated PSO, guaranteed convergence PSO, cooperative PSO, niching PSO, TRIBES, and quantum PSO. Albeit possibly omitting an interesting approach, the aforementioned variants sketch a rough picture of the current status in PSO literature, exposing the main ideas and features that constitute the core of research nowadays.
