Based on the REBA analysis, there is a risky operator work postures in the warping work station at PT. Iskandar Indah Printing Textile because they do not use work tools. The assessment of the level of work posture risk by the REBA method gets the result that the highest work element with a final score of 10 is obtained by taking warp yarn at the warping station. This study aims to produce a design tool to reduce the level of work posture risk in warping work station operators. Then the design of tools was carried out by the Pahl and Beitz method to produce three alternative product design concepts. Based on the three ideas, the best plan is chosen by using an Engineering Design Selection, and the result is the second design concept. The selected design is an adjustable trolley with a vertical screw drive system that is comfortable to use and does not cause a bending position on the operator because it has a trolley plate that can be adjusted in height as needed. The use of the trolley causes a decrease in the level of work posture risk from a high-risk level to a small risk level with a final score of 10 to 3.

Workers' activities basically have a positive and negative impact, one of which is the result of a disturbed skeletal and muscular system, which is a decrease in the strength level of body parts which constitutes work productivity when carrying out daily activities. Knowing the danger level of body posture carried out by the welding position, so that it can be given useful input for the company's progress. The method used is the Rapid User Limb Assessment (RULA) method carried out on welding workers and the research method quantitatively and qualitatively then carried out statistical analysis, subjectivity and rula. The results showed that the final score of the posture of squatting, sitting and sitting in a chair had a score of 7, which means a high level of risk and needs immediate improvement. After evaluating the welding position improvement, there is a seat posture with a score of 3 which is a low risk level and requires changes. Same with the welding position sitting on the chair. The squat welding position with a score of 4 which is a low level risk level and sitting work posture has a score of 4 which means a low risk level, but requires a change for the future. From this study it was found that the relationship between Nordic Body Map and RULA was a continuity in squat work postures, which was found that this work posture had the highest risk of danger. Need to improve work posture in certain welding positions in this project or provide counseling about the dangers of work in the work posture if it continues

Slouching and squatting work postures in the fish cleaning process can cause skeletal muscle injury. Based on the results of previous research conducted by Adelia (2020), the results of the existing NBM show that workers have complaints in the muscles of the neck, arms, back, waist, buttocks, hands, wrists, thighs, knees, and feet. The result of total muscle complaints individual skeletal is 75, meaning that the existing work posture requires work improvement. Improvement of working posture can be done by designing work aids in the form of desks and chairs. The determination of the MSDs risk level category was carried out by identifying the skeletal muscle complaints felt by workers using a Nordic body map (NBM) questionnaire, a working posture assessment was carried out to determine the score level in work posture using the Rapid Upper Limb Assessment (RULA) method with the help of CATIA V5R20 software. Assistive devices in the form of desks and work chairs are designed based on complaints experienced by workers and use the anthropometric approach in determining the dimensions of work aids. Based on the results of the implementation of work aids, there was a change in the score for skeletal muscle complaints and work posture. The results showed that the average NBM value of individual muscle complaints was 56.75, this is included in the moderate risk level and the results of the RULA analysis on the repair work posture experienced a change in the final score, namely 4 (yellow).

Companies that have manual work, muscle injury is one of the major health issues that often occur when working. XYZ Ceramics Yogyakarta is still doing work activities involving manual processes and there has been identified that worker posture has the potential to cause injury. From the Nordic Body Map questionnaire, complaint was identified in the back were 88%, the knees were 80%, the upper arm 75%, and the right shoulder by 70% from 15 workers. The Ovako Work Posture Analysis System (OWAS) method is used to evaluate and analyze work attitudes so that improved categories of work methods and recommendations could be obtained. Plan for Identifiering av Belastningsfaktorer (PLIBEL) was used to identify the factors that cause muscle injury or harmful effect. In addition, the Nordic Body Map was applied to determine the critical work station. The purpose of this research is to analyze work posture and description of risk level related to musculoskeletal injury at critical work station. The three highest percentage of risk of muscle injury identified at raw material processing station, based on calculation result of PLIBEL Checklist, were on elbow, forearm, and hand. Based on the assessment of working posture using OWAS, the highest action category is identified in the activity of moving the cart containing the soil to the automatic pest that is the action category of 4, which means that this activity is very dangerous for the musculoskeletal system.

Leather handycraft industry produces handicrafts such as bags, shoes, wallets, belts.  On production process atcutting division, work posture condition is too bent. A preliminary study on 20 workers found musculoskeletal complaints was greater than 50% at 16 items, mostly in upper limbs. Based on these complaints, research was on work posture using RULA and Sympton Questionnaire.  Research purposes was to determine the risk level and relationship with UEWMSDs on the worker. The result of RULA found that work posture with RULA score was 7 (seven) that means 3 (three) risk level that very high category, and needs to be repaired as soon as possible. Symptom Questionnaire answer related to worker's complaint, which are complaints of shoulder and arm pain was 50%, pain after work 1-4 years was 85%, duration of illness <1 hour was 85%, move to another part due to illness was 55%, pain increase when the activity was 100%, and pain reduce at rest was 90%. Base on the condition, it was needed to redesigned cutting table evaluated by RULA category 3 (three) based on anthropometry of workers

Abstract The proper use of integral attachment features in mechanical assemblies has been more of an art than an engineering science. An organized set of design steps for generating conceptual integral attachment designs has recently been developed based on work begun by Bonenberger. These steps outline a formal design methodology for exploring the design space of possible alternative attachment concepts. This paper describes the development of a software tool that attempts to implement the integral attachment design methodology to assist a designer in developing attachment concepts. The tool is implemented using the Java programming language. A graphical interface is used to present the methodology as a series of options that approximate the design situation. This hides many of the details of the methodology in favor of ease of use. The end result is a set of suggestions for integral fasteners that are matched to the design situation. A discussion of how the hundreds of images are handled using Java is provided. A sample case study illustrates the approach of the program. The tool represents one of the few examples of a design tool aimed specifically at generating design concepts.

Nowadays, world demand for alternative fuels has led to an advanced research and development of hybrid and electrical vehicles. This paper presents the design development and analysis of energy regenerative suspension (EReSS) system to harvest wasted energy from vibration of a vehicle. The source of the wasted energy is the kinetic energy produced by the vibrating structures of the vehicle. Electromagnetic method was used to harvest the wasted energy. Several design concepts of the EReSS are discussed and proposed in this paper. Three-dimenstional (3D) modeling of the EReSS was performed using the Computer-Aided-Drafting (CAD). Design analysis was performed in order to find the best conceptual design of the EReSS, which then it will be fabricated. From the design analysis, the EReSS is attached as retrofit, outside the suspension system, and it will not disrupt the current suspension system. By the help of a moving suspension system,  it helps vehicles to move smoothly on irregular road surface conditions.

The objective of this work was to evaluate farming machines adapted to forestry work and to verify if their characteristics meet the safety, ergonomics and working conditions necessary to maintain the health and safety of the operators. Thus, three farming tractors were selected, with a closed cabin and a minimum power of 73.5 kW, a widely used specification in the forestry sector. The following ergonomic parameters were considered: acess to the cab, cab dimensions, visibility, seat, controls and operation, work posture, cabin air conditioning, noise, lighting and maintenance aspects. The evaluations were based on the guidelines contained in the “Ergonomic Guidelines for Forest Machines” of the Swedish Forestry Research Institute, developed for forestry machines. The results showed that all the evaluated machines presented ergonomic standards below those indicated in all evaluated aspects, particularly related to access to the work station and difficulties during mechanical maintenance, besides the necessity of adopting forced postures during the working day due to operator’s seats. It was concluded that the farming machines adapted for work in forest processes presented significant gaps in relation to the ergonomic aspects, which represents high and imminent risks of development of occupational diseases in their operators, as well as the predisposition to work accidents.

COVID-19 has become a global pandemic, and one of the government's actions in the education sector to prevent transmission through online class activities or online classrooms has been adopted. During the pandemic, it was discovered that using computers with improper or non-ergonomic body postures during online classes might cause muscular fatigue and raise the incidence of musculoskeletal problems. Using the Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) method, this study seeks to detect musculoskeletal complaints and assess the posture of UMM students when using a laptop. Because online learning lasts more than 2 hours, posture that is not in accordance with the comfort of using a laptop can lead a person to exhaust more rapidly in front of a laptop for a relatively long period, especially in the upper neck, back, and waist, which stand for 80% of the body parts. This is supported by the study of respondents using a questionnaire distribution technique that provided a REBA score of 7 and a moderate risk level, indicating that remedial action is required. After a recommended improvement with a low risk level for MSDs, a REBA score of 3 was established. Suggestions that can be considered are that it is necessary to improve sitting work posture, it is recommended to work on a table and sit in a reclining chair so that the proposed work posture improvement can be carried out.
