Abstract— Researchers want to find out how people with disabilities understand the content of news on television broadcasts, specifically decoding nonverbal communication on news broadcasts. Basically the communication process (message exchange) will not run well if it is not supported by various communication elements or components, namely encoding. Therefore, in communicating there are so many obstacles and constraints experienced by communication agents. Physical barriers become one of the obstacles in communication. When communicating, one's physical imperfections become a problem in the delivery and reception of messages (information). In this study, researchers used qualitative research methods and interpretive paradigms to get accurate results. After conducting research on persons with hearing impairments, the researcher saw that the resource persons could not encode or decode perfectly, the resource persons were only able to absorb a little information that was conveyed. The resource person is not able to make messages according to a certain code the cause is the unclear tempo of the sign language column movement that is too fast so the resource person is unable to capture the message conveyed by the interpreter. Keywords—: News; Communication; Encoding; Decoding; Deaf.

Deafness is a disorder that occurs in the human sense of hearing. Loss of hearing function causes deaf people unable to hear and communicate verbally so that they experience delays in language development. Sign language is used by deaf people as a communication language. Sign language needs to be introduced by teachers of SLB Pertiwi Ponorogo to students with hearing impairments in order to get an agreement on the meaning of the signs used during communication. This research uses a descriptive type of research with a qualitative approach. The results of this study indicate the following: first, the communication carried out by the teacher in introducing sign language uses total communication by means of oral, written, pictures, signs, spelling, and lip-reading. Second, students gave a positive response indicated by a change in attitude following the cues displayed by the teacher. Students give negative responses indicated by emotional changes such as expressions of anger, confusion, silence, and even rejection from students. Third, the communication position in this study lies in the communicator, message, and communicant, namely the communication process barriers, physical barriers, and semantic barriers.

This research aims to determine the pettern of communication between Coaches and students in disciplining the memorization of the Qir’an at the Baitul Al-Muqarramah Foundation in Bone Regency. Qualitative research methods are used in this research by conducting interviews.  Interviews wew conducted with informants who were Coaches at the Baitul Al-Muqarramah Foundation in Bone Regency. The results showed the Coaches in the Baitul Al-Muqarramah Foundation used verbal and nonverbal communication. There are two communication petterns that are used there are also two namely interpersonal communication petterns and group communication petterns. The petterns of group communication is more dominant used in this foundation, while interpernonal communication is usually applied to students who are less optimal in directing group communication. Where the pettern of group communication is more dominant applied in the process of direction every day. As with interpersonal communication, this communication pettern is usually applied to a particular situation. For axample, there is one student who cannot be fostered if trough the communication petterns of the group. Proven trought group communication implemented by the Coach, able to discipline student to memorize the Qur’an and make student achieve targets that have been determined with a dominant scale. Even trought this group communication, the time of a Coach can be more efficient than interpersonal communication which requires the trainer to meet one-onone with his students. The obstacle factors of the Coaches are so unable to discipline the memorization of the Qur’an by their students namely; first, the psychological factors and habit factor od the students.

This paper provides a further distinction between quantitative and qualitative research methods. This paper also presents a summary of the different research methods to conduct research in quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods studies.</span></span></p>

The purpose of this study was to find out what criminal cases were carried out by punk children, then what factors behind them committed the crime, and why they could enter the punk community. Punk kids are always associated with a negative action, look weird, steal, children are slang, immoral, and other negative things. Sometimes punk children choose to live on the road not only a factor in the conditions of economic difficulties, but also because they enjoy environmental conditions on the road, they feel their families do not care, and lack of education. Research methods The research method used in conducting research on the criminal acts of punk children community is to use qualitative research methods with a sociological juridical approach. Qualitative research methods according to Lexy J Moleong are research that intends to understand the phenomenon of what is understood by the subject of research, such as behavior, perceptions, motivations, actions, etc., holistically and in description in the form of words and language in a natural context. Data collection uses quantitative methods. The results of the study concluded that criminal acts or crimes by punk children were carried out due to economic, family, environmental factors, and lack of education.

This article discusses how the interpersonal communication that is built between counselors and drug addicts patients in receiving institutions is obliged to report bahrul maghfiroh cinta indonesia (IPWL BMCI) Malang. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods. The purpose of this study was to determine the interpersonal communication process carried out between counselors and drug addict patients in IPWL BMCI Malang. The results showed that the interpersonal communication that was built between the counselor and the drug addict patient was: (1) taking a personal approach to the drug addict patient (2) verbal and non verbal communication between the counselor and the drug addict patient (3) making the patient familiar with the counselor (4) ) fostering trust in patients with drug addicts (5) strengthening the kinship system.

In conducting research, the authors use Islamic economic law research methods that adopt qualitative research methods including both primary data sources and secondary data, data collection techniques namely observation, interviews, documentation, data analysis techniques namely editing and organizing, checking the validity of data, and stages research stage. All this researchers use to find research results. The findings in this study are as follows: 1. In running a business as a transportation service provider, PT Kereta Api does not only focus on sales but also serves to cancel and change the schedules. 2. There are two kinds of cancellations, namely canceled buyers and canceled officers. 3. Cancellations and schedule changes are both manual and online. 4. Cancellation and schedule changes can be made as long as not exceeding the specified time limit. 5. In canceling and changing passengers' schedules, an administration fee of 25% of the ticket price is subject to administration.

Abstract: There are still many people living on the suburbs who have unique and diverse activities and habits. As in Jetis Trawas Village, Cepoko Village, Gunungpati District, Semarang City, some of these unique activities and habits actually trigger the formation of a space that is used for various activities. One of them that is unique is that there are still many houses that are in the same environment as livestock. The purpose of this study is to determine the pattern of sharing space on the suburbs and the factors that influence the formation of sharing space on the suburbs. Through qualitative research methods can provide a clear picture of sharing space based on the culture of the local community. In addition, this method is motivated by the author in conducting research in order to provide knowledge about things that are not widely known. So in this study, it will be explored and discussed further how this sharing space can be formed in the object of this research. The results of this study in Jetis Trawas Village show that the Sharing Room was formed due to economic factors as well as social interaction factors of the villagers.Abstrak: Masyarakat yang ada di pinggiran Kota masih banyak ditemui memiliki aktivitas dan kebiasaan yang unik dan beragam. Seperti yang ada di Desa Jetis Trawas, Kelurahan Cepoko, Kecamatan Gunungpati, Kota Semarang. Aktivitas dan kebiasaan unik ini ternyata memicu terbentuknya ruang yang digunakan untuk berbagai aktivitas. Salah satunya yang unik yaitu masih banyak terdapat rumah tinggal yang berada satu lingkungan dengan hewan ternak. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pola sharing space yang ada di pinggiran kota dan faktor – faktor yang berpengaruh dalam terbentuknya sharing space di pinggiran kota. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif rasionalistik, kualitatif analisis dengan deskriptif untuk menganalisa suatu objek dengan kondisi di lokasi penelitian. Analisis data menggunakan hasil wawancara dari beberapa warga dengan berbagai golongan umur yang objek penelitiannya sesuai dengan tema penelitian, kemudian hasilnya dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan melalui wawancara tersebut, diketahui bahwa Sharing Spaceterbentuk karena ketersediaan lahan, faktor ekonomi dan juga faktor sosial.

ABSTRAK Penyandang tunarungu memiliki hambatan pendengaran dan dalam proses bicara dan bahasanya terhambat pula. Penyandang tunarungu menggunakan bahasa isyarat sehari-hari dalam berkomunikasi dengan orang lain. Materi yang diajarkan pun menggunakan bahasa isyarat oleh guru mereka. Materi pelajaran yang biasanya disampaikan lewat bahasa lisan, harus disampaikan lewat bahasa isyarat. Termasuk juga pelajaran agama Islam yang disampaikan oleh bahasa isyarat, seperti bacaan shalat yang disampaikan dengan bahasa isyarat di SLB Negeri Cileunyi. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui perhatian, pemahaman dan penerimaan anak-anak tunarungu terhadap bahasa isyarat dalam memahami bacaan shalat. Serta mengenal bahasa isyarat sebagai komunikasi nonverbal. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Teknik yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data diantaranya yaitu observasi, angket dan wawancara. Terdapat respon antara bahasa isyarat yang digunakan anak-anak tunarungu dengan bacaan shalat yang diajarkan di sekolah. Bahasa isyarat membantu anak-anak tunarungu dalam memahami, mengikuti serta pada pengaplikasian bacaan shalat di sekolah maupun di rumah. Kata Kunci : Anak-anak Tunarungu; Bahasa Isyarat; Bacaan Shalat   ABSTRACT Deaf people have hearing impairments and are also hampered in the process of speech and language. Deaf people use daily sign language in communicating with others. The material taught also uses sign language by their teacher. The subject matter, which is usually delivered through oral language, must be delivered through sign language. It also includes Islamic lessons delivered by sign language, such as prayer readings delivered in sign language at SLB Negeri Cileunyi. The purpose of this study was to determine the attention, understanding and acceptance of deaf children to sign language in understanding prayer readings. And recognize sign language as nonverbal communication. This type of research is quantitative with descriptive methods. Techniques used in data collection include observation, questionnaires and interviews.There is a response between sign language used by deaf children and prayer readings taught at school. Sign language helps deaf children understand, follow along with the application of prayer readings at school or at home. Keywords : Deaf Children; Sign language; Prayer Readings

Researchers want to find out how the communication patterns that exist between parents in-laws and son or daughter in-laws who had different ethnic backgrounds. Communication in a family is an important aspect in terms of establishing good relations between families and building harmonious relationships, especially in couples in-laws. Communication that exists between the three couples parents in law and son or daughter in-laws who had different ethnic backgrounds. The researcher also wanted to find out what barriers to intercultural communication the three couple parents-in-law and son or daughter-in-law went through. The method used by the researchers in this research was a descriptive qualitative research method using in-depth interview by three couple parents in-laws and son or daughter in-law and also a literature study. After conducting research on three couple parents in law and son or daughter in-law, the three couples have gone through a long communication process, and the communication patterns established between the three couples are not different, all three had a transactional communication model, because the three parents-in-law and son or daughter-in-law are both recipients and the sender of the message in a continuous and responsible for the impact and effectiveness of the communication that occurs. barriers in intercultural communication experienced by these three couple parents-in-law and son or daughter-in-law, based on the Nine barriers of intercultural communication presented by Chaney & Martin (2004). The nine obstacles were not experienced by the three couple parents-in-law and the son or daughter in-law. Peneliti ingin mengetahui bagaimana pola komunikasi yang terjalin antara mertua dan menantu yang berbeda latar belakang etnis. Komunikasi dalam sebuah keluarga merupakan aspek penting dalam hal menjalin hubungan baik antar keluarga dan membangun hubungan yang harmonis terutama pada pasangan menantu dan mertua. Komunikasi yang terjalin antara ketiga pasangan menantu dan mertua ini memiliki latar belakang etnis yang berbeda. Peneliti juga ingin mengetahui apa saja hambatan komunikasi antarbudaya yang dilalui ketiga pasangan mertua dan menantu tersebut Metode yang digunakan peneliti dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data wawancara mendalam dengan tiga pasangan menantu dan mertua dan juga studi kepustakaan. Setelah melakukan penelitian kepada tiga pasangan menantu dan mertua, ketiga pasangan tersebut telah melalui proses komunikasi yang panjang, dan pola komunikasi yang terjalin antara ketiga pasangan tersebut tidak berbeda, ketiganya memiliki model komunikasi transaksional, karena ketiga pasangan mertua dan menantu tersebut sama-sama menjadi penerima dan pengirim pesan dalam waktu yang berkelanjutan dan bertanggung jawab terhadap dampak dan efektivitas komunikasi yang terjadi. Hambatan komunikasi antarbudaya yang dialami ketiga pasangan mertua dan menantu ini, berdasarkan Sembilan hambatan komunikasi antarbudaya yang dipaparkan oleh Chaney & Martin (2004). Sembilan hambatan tersebut tidak dialami oleh ketiga pasangan mertua dan menantu tersebut.
