scholarly journals Sustainability Analysis of Palm Oil as Implications for Price Decreasing of FFB Sei Kepayang Region

The price of oil palm is a challenge posed by oil palm farmers at the moment, a decrease in the price of oil palm can be calculated by blocking from abroad the Indonesian CPO, opening new land and increasing the current budget of the price of oil palm to be very cheap when compared to the previous 2 years. This cheap price has an impact on reducing the allocation for plant maintenance which will also have a direct impact on quality and will have another impact. For this reason, research on the impacts of oil palm on sustainability is needed and factors that can be proposed for improvement. This research uses SSM, AHP and ISM methods to get more complete results. SSM research results indicate the need for improvements to infrastructure to transport oil palm yields, a guarantee of the selling1 price of FFB and improvement in the quality of human resources of oil palm farmers is very necessary. ISM results show government, farmer groups, farmer groups, and cooperatives can join together to improve the quality of oil palm products, join together to send crops directly to PKS to get better prices with the support of cooperatives and local governments. Further research from this research is the formation of models that are produced according to ISM results.

Abstract[Sustainability Analysis of Palm Oil as Implications  The Decrease of Selling Price the Crude Palm Oil at Sei Kepayang Medan  Nort Sumatra] The price of oil palm is a theme that is widely discussed today related to a variety of issues and obstacles faced by these industry players. This study aims to study the sustainability of oil palm cultivation among smallholders in Lahad Datu on The Malaysian Sustainable Palm Oil (MSPO) Certification. A total of 300 oil palm smallholders in Lahad Datu, Sabah were interviewed using a set of questionnaires. The results of the analysis of this study show that oil palm smallholders have awareness of MSPO certification. Although they are aware of the need to have MSPO certification, they do not have such certification. Awareness of having MSPO certification can improve the quality of the environment while being able to increase the production efficiency and productivity of their oil palm plants. However, the management of the plantation by the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) which is often undergoing changes and many application forms that need to be filled is the main reason why the oil palm smallholders do not get the MSPO certification. Strategic measures and awareness programs related to the importance of MSPO certification and related to oil palm cultivation need to be planned more widely by MPOB, in addition to introducing certification applications with a user-friendly, systematic, and innovative concept to attract more oil palm smallholders to obtain MSPO certification in line with the government’s efforts to optimize high-quality palm oil production in the future.

This paper seeks to identify the drivers of the variations in the impact perceived by managers of the implementation of performance measures (PM) across European local governments. We argue that insights from the use of PM for managerial processes and human resources (HR) management features condition the perceived impact of PM systems. The data was collected through a questionnaire answered by local governments of 16 European countries. The results show that the higher the use of PM in performance-oriented budgeting processes, the higher the impact of PM on improvements in the quality of decision-making. Monetary incentives linked to performance better explain the actual results in PM implementation than the kind of HR system of the cities and the academic backgrounds of their senior managers.

THE effectiveness of using maize starch, warm water, cold water, groundnut oil, palm oil and cold storage [refrigerator] in preserving the quality of eggs was studied. Groundnut oil, palm oil and cold storage were equally effective in preserving the quality of eggs while maize starch, cold water and warm water were found ineffective. The effectiveness of palm oil and groundnut oil was further enhanced when the oil-treated eggs were stored in the refrigerator for four weeks. Treatment with groundnut oil for one minute before storage for four weeks was considered the preferred method of preserving the quality of eggs.
