Kecelakaan bagi pejalan kaki, seperti halnya kecelakaan lalu lintas jalan lainnya, tidak bisa diprediksi dan dicegah. Negara dalam hal ini adalah pemerintah haruslah memperhatikan dalam menangani masalah keselamatan bagi pejalan kaki dengan mengimplementasikan langkah-langkah efektif. Beberapa rekomendasi meminta pemerintah untuk mempertimbangkan kebutuhan semua pengguna jalan, termasuk pejalan kaki dan pengendara sepeda, ketika keputusan tentang rancangan jalan dan infrastruktur, perencanaan tata guna lahan dan layanan transfortasi. Dan dari hasil yang diteliti penulis dalam hal ini mengenai faktor-faktor utama yang mempengaruhi resiko kecelakaan lalu lintas bagi pejalan kaki mencakup diantaranya 1). Kecepatan dan risiko kecelakaan pejalan kaki 2). Alkohol. 3) Kurangnya fasilitas pejalan kaki dalam perancangan jalan dan perencanaan tata guna lahan 4). Buruknya visibility pejalan kaki. Accidents for pedestrians, as well as other road traffic accidents, cannot be predicted and prevented. The country in this case is that the government should pay attention to the problem of safety for pedestrians by implementing effective measures. Some recommendations require the Government to consider the needs of all road users, including pedestrians and cyclists, when decisions about road design and infrastructure, land use planning and transfortation services. And from the results examined by the authors in this regard on the main factors that affect the risk of traffic accidents for pedestrians include 1). Speed and risk of pedestrian accident 2). Alcohol. 3) The lack of pedestrian facilities in road planning and land use planning 4). Poor pedestrian visibility

An analysis of 208 cases of immediate death in a road traffic accident in which the blood alcohol was estimated, showed a definite characteristic distribution of varying blood alcohol levels in the various types of road users of differing age and sex.

ABSTRACT: The paper deals with the analysis of traffic accidents involving pedestrians in the Slovak Republic. The development of traffic accidents involving pedestrians is processed through statistical data for the period 2011 - 2019. The paper defines the risk groups of road users, identified areas with the highest traffic accidents, evaluated the negative consequences of traffic accidents and identified their possible causes. A separate chapter is a case study consisting of an analysis of a vehicle - pedestrian accident. Based on the performed analysis of traffic accidents involving pedestrians, safety measures are set to minimize the number of traffic accidents involving pedestrians and their negative consequences. The study is one of the outputs of the APVV-17-0217 project "Staffing of police officers and application of the principle of proportionality in criminal and administrative law.

<p class="abstract"><strong>Background:</strong> The government of India imposed a nationwide lockdown from 24 March to 14 April 2020, to contain the highly contagious corona virus. The aim of the study was to reflect upon the psychosocial impact of lockdown 1.0 on the population in terms of assaults, self-inflicted injuries and road traffic accidents during the 21 days of lockdown.</p><p class="abstract"><strong>Methods:</strong> This was a prospective observational study done in KIMS hospital and research centre during nation-wide lockdown 1.0 i.e. from 24 March to 14 April 2020. Patients who visited emergency medicine department with history of assault, self-inflicted injuries, road traffic accidents sustaining injuries to ear, nose, neck and other regions of the face were included in the study.</p><p class="abstract"><strong>Results:</strong> A total of 32 patients who sustained injuries in the head and neck region during the 21-day lockdown period and came to our institution were included. Out of the 32 injuries, 6 injuries were to the ear, 12 to nose,5 to the neck region and 9 to other facial regions. There were 18 assault cases causing head and neck injuries,3 were self-inflicted wounds and rest were injuries due to road traffic accidents.</p><p class="abstract"><strong>Conclusions:</strong> Several problems emerged following the forced quarantine to combat COVID-19. These inexorable circumstances which are beyond normal experience, lead to stress, anxiety and a feeling of helplessness in all. There is a need to ameliorate people’s access to mental health support services geared towards providing measures for developing healthy coping mechanisms during such crisis.</p>

Background: In India, Road safety is an issue of national concern. Road accidents create negative impact on the economy, public health and the general welfare of the people. Every year the lives of approximately 1.25 million people are cut short as a result of road traffic accidents. Between 20 and 50 million more people suffer non-fatal injuries, with many incurring a disability as a result of their injury. Reliable road traffic injury surveillance is an important component of evidence based road safety policy making. Methods: A cross sectional study was conducted for the period of 3 months in Mysuru city. The present study included all the 5 Traffic Police stations coming under Mysuru city. Before conducting the study, permission to collect all the relevant information is obtained from the in charge of the stations. Retrospective data regarding the traffic rules violations, fatal and non-fatal injuries are obtained in the fixed format prescribed by the government which is maintained uniformly by all the police stations. Data collected was entered in MS office excel sheet and analyzed using statistical package for social sciences (SPSS) software version 22.0. Results: From the study we can observe that there is a drastic increase in the total number of traffic crimes in 2015 compared to 2014. Case fatality of road traffic accident showed decreasing trend from the year 2013. It was evident from the study that there was no significant correlation between total number of accidents every year with violation of traffic rules (r = -0.86 p =0.338). Similarly  There was no significant correlation between the number of persons killed every year with violation of rules by riding two wheeler without helmet(r = -0.380 p =0.752). Conclusions: With massive investment in roads and the exponential growth in the number of vehicles it has become necessary to have a system, which integrates all disciplines that influence road safety. In depth evaluation of the road traffic accidents to build infrastructures and to reinforce the regulations specific to local needs is required.

Background. Around the world, drug-related road traffic accidents are one of the leading causes of injury and death among road users. Traffic safety is a system that includes the following components: a person – a person's health condition – the use of dangerous drugs of different classification and legal groups – adverse drug reactions – a vehicle – a road. The share of road traffic accidents under the influence of drugs is more than 75 %, they are also the most socially dangerous, because they have grave consequences, cause irreparable harm to the health and death of the victims. The purpose of the study was to analyze the achievements of forensic and pharmaceutical researches in Ukraine on the impact of drugs on the safety, life and health of road users within the framework of the organization of pharmaceutical business, drug technology, pharmaceutical and medical law in a retrospective aspect. Materials and methods. The materials of the imperative research were legislative, regulatory and legal documents; materials of the formation of the scientific school of forensic pharmacy; scientific publications on the topic of the article; Internet resources, sources of scientific literature. To achieve the set goals, the methods of forensic and pharmaceutical, regulatory, documentary, bibliographic, comparative, historical and graphic analysis were used. Results. The experience of the countries of the world in the prophylaxis and prevention of road traffic accidents under the influence of drugs was analyzed. The causes and conditions for the occurrence and consequences of road traffic accidents are multifactorial in nature and are associated with the victims (driver - pedestrian), vehicle, road conditions, and the use of psychoactive drugs. A system of organizational, regulatory and preventive measures has been developed to provide first medical aid to victims of a road traffic accident. Shown that there is a need for scientifically grounded organizational and legal, clinical and pharmacological, forensic pharmaceutical and socio-economic studies on causal relationships between adverse reactions due to the use of drugs of various classification and legal groups, traffic safety and road traffic accidents. For the first time in Ukraine, a mathematical model was proposed to establish the effect of psychoactive drugs on the driver's condition when driving a vehicle, depending on the calculation of the stopping path of the car in accordance with the selected speed and a decrease in the driver's response. The structure of road traffic accidents under the influence of psychoactive drugs has been investigated. Conclusions. A classification of first-aid kits for providing first medical aid to victims of road traffic accidents was proposed, which made it possible to substantiate the need to improve them both in qualitative and quantitative composition, depending on the type of vehicle and the likelihood of an accident with serious consequences. Recommendations were proposed for providing information on the possibility of obtaining medical care and the signal-calling system on the roads, marking the packages of psychoactive drugs with a special mark in the form of a red triangle. The need for further forensic pharmaceutical research has been proven.

The transport sector aims to address climate change by reducing emissions, and a key to achieving this goal is to increase uptake of sustainable modes such as walking, cycling, and public transport. Therefore, it is important to determine ways to achieve this goal and to build a portfolio of feasible reduction strategies. This study is based in Norway where the government has a clear policy objective to reduce growth in urban car traffic and assimilate future sustainable transport modes. Cycling has therefore gained importance in both policy discussions and programme implementation through providing dedicated infrastructure to increase its modal share. Ways to increase cycling can be plotted at both macro- and microlevels. At the micro-level, road design and improved conditions for cyclists can lead to an increase in cycling. At the macro-level, land-use planning can be one of the tools to promote cycling. We analyse the issue at a macro-level based on an Integrated Methodology for Land Use prognosis within Transportation Models (INMAP) which estimates the mutual eff ects of land-use plans and increased accessibility by e-bike. We assess the extent to which future growth areas, as earmarked by the strategic master plans of the cities of Oslo and Trondheim, coincide with the areas that have a high job accessibility by bicycle and e-bike. Analyses reveal that on the introduction of e-bikes in Oslo, accessibility to jobs in the city centre increases from 20,000–24,000 to over 28,000 jobs. For Trondheim, in terms of spatial expansion of accessibility for jobs, there is an extension of the catchment area from 6 km2 to 18 km2. Based on the findings, this study strongly recommends integrating the impact of e-bikes with land-use planning processes and decisions. Through active land-use management, municipalities and regional development authorities can take informed decisions to steer urban mobility in a more sustainable direction.

The use of guns in crime remains high in South Africa. The annual report of the National Injury Mortality Surveillance System (NIMSS) for 2000 found that death caused by firearms is higher in South Africa than death occurring through road traffic accidents or any other external cause of non-natural death. The government maintains that controlling firearms remains a priority and is focusing on the implementation of the Firearms Control


As with the most of middle-income countries, road traffic accidents (RTAs) in Malaysia constitute a serious public health challenge to the nation. Despite the fact that great efforts have been made to understand the causation factors of RTAs, little is known about how road service quality (RSQ) impacted road safety. The primary objective of the current study was to explore the relationships of RSQ and RTAs from the viewpoint of the Malaysian road users. The study employed a quantitative research approach with the use of a self-administered questionnaire instrument to survey a group of road users. In particular, this paper reports the first phase of the study, that is, to develop and administer an instrument to measure the relationships of RSQ and RTAs. A two phased approach was undertaken to determine face and content validity, and reliability of this instrument. The face and content validity were achieved by assembling a panel of academia and industry practitioners to ensure that wording of the items, and the development of the scale, were comprehensible for data inquiries. Reliability and internal consistency testing were achieved by employing the exploratory factor analysis (EFA) to model the interrelationships among items, and Cronbach’s alpha to evaluate the extent to which the items measure the same construct. Then, the instrument was pilot-tested by administration to a convenience-quota sample of 24 road users who stopped at the rest and service areas along the case study expressway. The results have pointed to the indication that the measurement instrument reached the accepted levels of internal reliability. Thus, it can be concluded that the developed instrument able to collect sound quality survey data and could enable the next stage of the study draws a valid and generalized conclusion. This paper highlighted the value of pilot testing in terms of improving the design of research studies that contributes to the development of best practices in RTAs research. Finally, the outcomes of the study should become a source for policy makers or local authorities to have better understanding of the safety outcomes of road service quality from which the prevention measures of RTAs could be improved.

The main purpose of this study was to identify and analyze the prevailing types of accidents at roundabouts. The relationship was revealed between certain types of accidents, the place of their occurrence, and the configuration of the roundabout. The study analyzed 321 accidents at 19 ring intersections. Four predominant crash types were identified: rear-end collision, collision with vulnerable road users, side swipe collision, and entering circulate collision. The greatest number of accidents occurred at the weaving lane and at the entrances and exits of the roundabout. Dividing the ring intersections into separate sections to determine the location of the accident allows drawing conclusions on the nature of road traffic accidents and the impact of the roundabout design on safety.

The article deals with the issue of road safety. The aim is to analyze the accident rate on the roads of rkutsk region and assess the risk of road traffic accidents (RTA). The research is based on statistical data. A comparative analysis of the risks of road accidents and the risks of death of road users is carried out. The risk of death in accidents is higher in Slyudyanka district than in Irkutsk region, which is due to the complex route and mountainous areas. The damage caused by road traffic accidents is increasing every year.
