The increasingly tight competition has caused problems for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in increasing their marketing performance. During the last few years, the marketing performance of SMEs operating in the Project woodcraft industry sector in the Badung Bali has moved downwards. The goal of this research is to develop knowledge in the fields of Strategic Management, specifically regarding product innovation to achieve a competitive advantage in an attempt to improve internationalization and marketing performance. The population in this research is all of the SMEs operating in the woodcraft industry sector and is based in Badung Bali. The sample size in this research is determined based on Slovin's formula and the total includes 100 units of SME operating in the woodcraft industry. The method used is the quantitative approach, which examines the role of competitive advantage in mediating the influence of product innovation on internationalization and marketing performance. Based on the research results, product innovation has a positive and significant influence on both, competitive advantage and internationalization. Product innovation and competitive advantage have positive and significant influences on marketing performance. Competitive advantage has a positive and significant influence on internationalization. Meanwhile, it has been revealed that competitive advantage can mediate the influence of product innovation on marketing performance and competitive advantage can mediate the influence of product innovation on the internationalization of SME operating in the Project woodcraft industry sector in Badung Bali. Based on these findings, the project woodcraft industry SME in Badung Bali is advised to be more innovative in producing their products, so that there would be an increase in marketing performance in the international market. It is also recommended for subsequent researchers to add in other variables, such as product quality and market orientation, to enrich the information attained.

This study aims to: (1) determine the effect of market orientation on competitive advantage; (2) to know the effect of innovation on competitive advantage; (3) to know the influence of market orientation and product innovation together to competitive advantage; (4) the effect of market orientation on the performance of SMEs, (5) to know the effect of product innovation on the performance of SMEs, (6) to know the effect of competitive advantage on SMEs performance, and (7) to know the effect of market orientation, product innovation, and competitive advantage together SMEs. This research uses an explorative design that aims to conduct a search and reveal the factors that can be estimated as the cause of the occurrence of a condition that is not yet known the cause and the mechanism.The population in this study is the SMEs in Batam city with the type of production business with a population of 153 SMEs. The number of samples was determined using a saturated sample technique in which the entire population in the study was sampled. So the number of samples in this study was as many as 153 SMEs. From the results of the study found that market orientation has a positive and significant impact on competitive advantage. Product innovation has a positive and significant impact on competitive advantage. Market orientation and product innovation together have a positive and significant impact on competitive advantage with R2 value of 83%. The dominant variable influencing competitive advantage is product innovation with regression coefficient value 0,62. Market orientation has a positive and significant effect on SME's performance. Product innovation has a positive and significant effect on SME's performance. Competitive advantage positively and significantly influence to SMEs performance, market orientation, product innovation and competitive advantage together have positive and significant influence to SMEs performance with R2 value equal to 90%. The dominant variable affecting the performance of SMEs is the advantage of competing with the value of regression coefficient 0.47. This research offers implementation to SMEs to improve market orientation and product innovation so that it will increase competitive advantage which impact on SMEs performance.

This study aims to determine and analyze the effect of Entrepreneurship Orientation and Product Innovation on the Performance of Small and Medium Enterprises with Intervening Competitive Advantage Variable. This study uses quantitative data analysis methods, the analysis technique is Partial Least Square (PLS). The reason for choosing to use the PLS method is the testing of the mediating role of an intervening variable. The results of the analysis conducted stated that the Entrepreneurship Orientation did not significantly influence Competitive Advantage and also the Performance of Small and Medium Enterprises. Product Innovation has a significant effect on Competitive Advantage and does not have a significant effect on the Performance of Small and Medium Enterprises and Competitive Advantage does not have a significant effect on the Performance of Small and Medium Enterprises. Entrepreneurship Orientation does not significantly influence Small Medium Enterprises Performance with Intervening Variable Competitive Advantage and Product Innovation has no significant effect on Small Medium Enterprises Performance with Intervening Competitive Advantage Variable

The Paper is the research findings on the role of strategic planning and competitive advantage of ICT Small and Medium Enterprises in Kenya. Literature suggests that the contemporary business environment in which organisations operate is increasingly becoming uncertain and unpredictable. Significant changes are mostly driven by technological changes, globalisation and trade liberalisation. As a result, like large enterprises, SMEs are facing new and unexpected challenges that threaten their competitiveness. While most countries acknowledge the critical role that SMEs contribute to their economies, both as an engine of growth and sustainable development, many questions still remain unanswered as to the determination of the critical challenges facing SMEs and how these challenges could be addressed to improve their competitiveness. These challenges have increased the need for empirical information which is essential for decision making in addressing issues that are likely to enhance SMEs survival and growth. It is noted that there has been no adequate research studies on the role of strategic planning and competitive advantage of SMEs. This study contributes to the need to address the research gaps and thus explored the role of strategic planning and competitive advange of SMEs in Kenya. The study population consisted of 238 ICT SMEs from Nairobi and its environs. A sample size of 146 firms constituting 61 per cent of the total population was selected through stratified sampling. The study aimed to collect data from 438 respondents from top, middle and lower management teams. Structured questionnaires with closed and open ended questions was used for data collection, 239 responses were received from 123 ICT firms a response rate of 55 per cent and 84.2 per cent respectively. Key characteristics of strategic planning including formality, environmental analysis processes both internal and external orientations, strategies adopted, and implementation and control were recorded. Data analysis was done using descriptive statistics, factor analysis, t-test, ANOVA, correlation, correlation matrixes and regression analysis. The key findings revealed that strategic planning has significant and positive influence in performance of SME’s. The test of hypothesis revealed that strategic planning has positive and significant influence on competitive advantage. The study demonstrated strategic planning as a learning tool and a strategic resource which is consistent with the underlying assumptions of resource based theory, systems theory, chaos theory and balanced score card model assumptions. It is envisaged that, this kind of research is likely to generate useful discussions on the role of strategic planning and performance, of SMEs. It is apparent that entrepreneurs of SMEs cannot ignore strategic planning as significant changes in competitive advantage is the result of change or effective application of strategic planning. Policy makers and academicians may need to address the capacity needs of SMEs and develop strategic planning model that address the challenges that SMEs encounter in a dynamic environment.

This study aims to determine the effect of promotional activities and product innovation on marketing performance in Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in Cianjur. The method used is explanatory research with analysis techniques using statistical analysis with regression testing, correlation, determination and hypothesis testing. The results of this study that promotional activities have a significant effect on marketing performance by 40.0%, hypothesis testing is obtained t count> t table or (7.915> 1.986). Product innovation has a significant effect on marketing performance by 38.5%, the hypothesis test obtained t count> t table or (7,669> 1,986). Promotional activities and product innovation simultaneously have a significant effect on marketing performance with the regression equation Y = 11.022 + 0.374X1 + 0.360X2. Contribution of influence is 49.3%, hypothesis testing obtained F count> F table or (45,302> 2,700).

This study deals with marketing innovation, market orientation, and social capital in affecting the competitive advantage and marketing performance in Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) of embroidery in Central Java Province. In this respect, this study tried to test and analyze the effect of marketing innovation, market orienta-tion, and social capital on competitive advantage and marketing performance in Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) of embroidery in Central Java Province. The samples are 150 respondents as the owners of the embroidery business in Central Java Province. The technical analysis used is Structure Equations Modeling with AMOS Software version 22. The results show that: (1) marketing innovation has significant effect on competitive advantage; (2) market orientation has significant effect on competi-tive advantage; (3) social capital has significant effect on competitive advantage; (4) competitive advantage has significant effect on marketing performance; (5) marketing innovation has significant effect on marketing performance; (6) market orientation has significant effect on marketing performance; (7) social capital has no significant effect on marketing performance. The implication of this study is that the MSMEs of embroidery could improve marketing performance by increasing marketing innovation, market orientation, social capital and competitive advantage. This study also shows that competitive advantage is an intervening variable on marketing performance.

Business competition in the current era of globalization requires companies to have a strategy to win the market. Strategic management has an important role for the survival of the company. The existence of such competition is also felt by small businesses such as Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). The increase in the number of SME units in Central Java was not followed by an increase in average sales of SMEs. This study aims to analyze the effect of distribution channel, ERP implementation and entrepreneurial orientation on marketing performance with competitive advantage as an intervening variable. The population in this study were small and medium enterprises owners in Central Java. Six hypothesis were formulated for this study. To test those hypothesis, this study used 104 respondent. Structural Equation Model (SEM) was applied to this study using AMOS 24  as a tool. The results of this study shows that competitive advantage is the most variable in influencing the marketing performance, while this  competititve advantage has entrepreneurial orientation as highest variable in influencing it. This study suggests that if SMEs want to increase their marketing performance, they must increase  their competitive advantage. This competitive advantage can be increase by increasing the entrepreneurial orientation.

Covid-19 penetrates into Indonesia to have an impact on Business, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). One of the MSMEs affected by the Covid-19 pandemic is the Cibaduyut Shoe Industry Center. This has an impact on business, marketing, information and the competitiveness of MSME players in Cibaduyut. So the research objective is to find and determine the effect of entrepreneurial orientation, marketing performance, and ICT capabilities on competitive advantage. The research method used is quantitative with the research sample being SMEs in Cibaduyut and analysis using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Square. While the results of the study provide results for the greatest influence on the ICT capability variable of 44.9%. The conclusion in this study is that the entrepreneurial orientation variable and marketing performance do not have a significant effect on competitive advantage, while the ICT capability variable has a significant effect.

This study aims at investigating the effect of market orientation on local wisdom-based e-eco-innovation as mediating variable to the Small and Medium Enterprises' marketing performance. Model and hypotheses testing were undertaken by means of SEM (Structural Equation Modeling) Amos version 23. A total of 250 questionnaires were distributed among the three industrial clusters, however, 189 was valid to be further followed up. The findings were market orientation has significant effect on local wisdom-based e-eco-innovation, market orientation has significant effect on firm's marketing performance and local wisdom-based e-eco-innovation has significant effect on firm's marketing performance. The study has provided some empirical evidence that the development of local wisdom-based e-eco-innovation particularly in developing countries, enhance the SMEs marketing performance.
