Power transformers are one of the most important and complex parts of an electric power system. Maintenance is performed for this responsible part based on the technical condition of the transformer using a predictive approach. The technical condition of the power transformer can be diagnosed using a range of different diagnostic methods, for example, analysis of dissolved gases (DGA), partial discharge monitoring, vibration monitoring, and moisture monitoring. In this paper, the authors present a digital model for predicting the technical condition of a power transformer and determining the type of defect and its cause in the event of defect detection. The predictive digital model is developed using the programming environment in LabVIEW and is based on the fuzzy logic approach to the DGA method, interpreted by the key gas method and the Dornenburg ratio method. The developed digital model is verified on a set of 110 kV and 220 kV transformers of one of the sections of the distribution network and thermal power plant in the Russian Federation. The results obtained showed its high efficiency in predicting faults and the possibility of using it as an effective computing tool to facilitate the work of the operating personnel of power enterprises.

THE PURPOSE. Consider the use of propeller electric installations as part of ship electrical complexes with a single electric power system. Highlight the rudder drives as a special type of electric propulsion of ships in northern latitudes. Investigate unified electric power systems with a propeller electric installation for the existence of power exchange oscillations in them. Propose methods and means for eliminating power oscillations in such systems.METHODS. To carry out the research, a single electric power system with electric rudder propellers of the world's only asymmetric icebreaker Baltika was considered. All the main elements of such system have been analyzed in detail. Experimental studies were carried out aimed at studying the operating modes of a unified electric power system.RESULTS. Experimental oscillograms of currents of parallel operating diesel-generator sets in different modes have been obtained. The existence of exchange and in-phase power oscillations during the operation of the unified electric power system of the icebreaker "Baltika" is noted. The data on the negative influence of power oscillations on the operation of the electrical complex of the icebreaker are presented.CONCLUSION. The use of ice-class sea vessels is an extremely important task for the Russian Federation. The installation of blocks that eliminate exchange and in-phase power oscillations will improve the reliability and efficiency of the use of marine vessels with electric rudder propellers when servicing hydrocarbon production on the Arctic shelf.

Emergency modes (short circuits) in electric power system and equipment are the main technical cause of fires. However, it is not always possible to prove the involvement of a particular operating mode in a fire. The fire hazard can be due to three components: a fuel load, an oxidizer and an ignition source. Since overhead transmission lines are used in an open space, they are oxidized. The presence of a fuel load is confirmed by a fire. The source of ignition should be identified. The aim of the study is to develop an algorithm for assessing the fire hazard for short circuits in overhead transmission lines with 1000 V. The study was conducted using scientific analysis, physical experiment and simulation. The ignition source is due to the appearance of an energy source with parameters sufficient to ignite a fuel load. The probability of ignition in overhead line wires depends on the probability of occurrence of the short circuit itself  ( Qi (v1) ) , the probability of failure of protection devices  ( Qi (v2) ), and the probability that the electric current value in the event of a fault is in the range of fire hazard values (Qi(z)). The values of the first two components are determined on the basis of statistical data, taking into account the theory of reliability. The third component is based on the experiment results. The experimental studies made it possible to establish the ranges of fire hazard values for uninsulated aluminum wires of various cross-sections, thereby providing the possibility of calculating ( Qi (z). Using the data obtained and information about the nature of changes in short-circuit currents and performance characteristics of protection devices, depending on the line length, an algorithm for assessing the fire hazard for a short circuit was developed. The results make it possible to assess the fire hazard for short circuits in various sections of the electrical network, made by overhead transmission lines, and to establish the involvement of sparks generated by short circuits in a fire

With the growing environmental depletion, the shift in the focus towards minimizing the emissions of gases released in the conventional generators and further incorporation of a cleaner alternate renewable source of energy such as wind or solar to the existing system is of utmost importance. The research paper aims to build an environmentally resilient electric power system. Real coded genetic algorithm- powerful optimization technique is employed to solve the dynamic combined economic emission dispatch i.e. DCEED strategy for two proposed algorithm. The first proposed DCEED algorithm includes fuel cost of only conventional generators while in the second algorithm along with conventional generators, wind powered generators with varying power output characteristic is added. A comparative analysis of both the algorithms in terms of total combined cost, emission level and fuel cost is taken into account and it is observed that in spite of wind uncertainty the proposed method is more economical.

This study proposed convolutional neural network (CNN) training for different figure recognition to diagnose electric motorbike faults. Traditional motorbike maintenance is usually carried out by technicians to find the problem step by step. Many resources are wasted and time consumed in diagnosing maintenance problems. Due to rising environmental protection awareness, motorbike power systems gradually transformed from combustion engines into the electric motor. The sound amplitude generated by the combustion engine is great and may cover other faulty sounds. The electric power system sound amplitude is greatly decreased, permitting various fault diagnosis to be performed by extracting the electric motor sound. With the development of computers and image processing, deep learning neural network for picture recognition technology becomes more feasible. This study presents the motor system sound visualization for fault diagnosis. First obtain the sound signals of the motor in the five different states of the operation in the laboratory and the road test, and draw the time domain graph, frequency domain graph and spectrogram graph to be used as the test database. The results graphs of various states were trained through a CNN. The signal states were then classified to achieve fault diagnosis. Experiments and identification results show that the spectrogram and CNN method can identify motorbike faults most effectively compared to the time domain graph and the frequency domain graph.

The term "smart grid" refers to the transformation of the traditional electric power grid into a modern grid. Modernization of the present electric power system is an important step to implement the Smart Grid technology. The structure of the existing power sector in Bangladesh is almost a hundred years old. Due to which the power sector of Bangladesh facing huge power wastage. A Smart Grid also ensures the efficient transmission and distribution of electric power. This paper gives a brief description of Smart Grid, the latest trends, challenges, prospects, cost analysis of smart grid equipment, and its facility. The spotlight of this paper is to implement the Smart Grid's perspective to Bangladesh. That’s included to have new distributed generation technology, smart meter, a pilot project, etc. Also, the main objective of this paper is the comprehensive development of transmission and distribution loss reduction, which will be saving a big amount of capital every year. And that will play a huge role in the economy of Bangladesh to move forward in global progress.

Insulator is a very important equipment in an electric power system. Ceramic insulators have been widely used to support conductors in 20 kV power lines. The problem of ceramic insulators is that they are heavy, easily contaminated on the surface and require a lot of energy in the manufacturing process. Therefore, polymer insulators were developed. This paper presents the design of an epoxy resin polymer insulator with Titanium Dioxide (TiO2) as a nanofiller. The leakage current test was carried out in a high voltage laboratory by applying an AC high voltage of 50 Hz to the insulator dry conditions and the insulator wetted by rainwater contaminants. The results of the leakage current test in dry conditions are 487.6 μA, rainwater contaminated conditions are 594.93 μA, insulation resistance in dry conditions is 2.07 G-Ohms, and contaminated conditions are 1.41 G-Ohms. Based on the test results show that the insulator leakage current increases up to 22% when the surface of the insulator is contaminated with rainwater. Meanwhile, the insulation resistance decreased by up to 32% in conditions contaminated with rainwater. The value of leakage current and insulation resistance indicates that the epoxy resin insulator with TiO2 as filler is electrically feasible to use.
