TOEFL and IELTS are two major tests that measure language preparedness of prospective college students. The writing section of these two tests provide a measure of readiness for academic writing. However, to what extent these two tests measure the same contents has not been quantitatively investigated before. In this paper, multidimensional scaling (MDS) is applied to explore the content structure of writing prompts in TOEFL and IELTS examinations.

The purpose of the article is to familiarize the reader with the content, structure and scientific foundations of the presentation of topics in the manuscript of the future textbook on the Chuvash language for students of grades 10-11 of schools with their native language of instruction. The research material is the manuscript of the textbook "Chuvash language" for grades 10-11 of schools with a native (Chuvash) language of instruction. The comparative-analytical method of research is used in the work. The manuscript was prepared in accordance with the program approved by the resolution of the Federal Educational and Methodological Association (Protocol No. 3/20 of September 17, 2020). This program is aimed at repeating and fixing the material of grades 5-9. In this regard, the manuscript includes relevant material for this purpose. The new topic is mainly the topic of "Language and speech economy". All topics are presented in accordance with the achievements of modern language theory. The author, as well as professor I.A. Andreev, believes that the study of the topic "Phraseology" is inappropriate. Studying a word out of connection with syntax does not reveal the essence of the use of certain affixes. For example, syntactic affixes can take both individual words and phrases. Therefore, morphemics and morphology should be presented in school taking into account syntax.

Abstract Background Although there have been discussions about traditional lecturing, lectures are still largely a widespread concept of knowledge transfer. Therefore, it is important to constantly review and evaluate this format. The aims of this study were to analyze which effect a criteria-based written feedback has on the lecture course in geriatrics as an alternative to the conventional student evaluation. Furthermore, we wanted to investigate what kind of impact structured feedback has on lecturers in terms of content, organization and quality. Methods The study was a prospective longitudinal analysis. The 34 lectures on the subject of geriatrics were analyzed over two cohorts using a standardized evaluation sheet. The assessment was carried out on a 5-point-scale using a 22-item feedback instrument. After the first evaluation, each lecturer received an individual evaluation with strengths and suggestions for improvement. In the second cohort the lecture series was evaluated again, and individual feedback was sent. Results In six of 22 sub-categories the improvement was significant. The most significant improvement was made in terms of content/structure with an increase from 3.4 to 4.3 points. Conclusion This study shows that significant improvement in teaching is possible by means of individualized written feedback for the lecturers and that students perceive the resulting improvements positively. Our results suggest that the implementation of these feedback instruments in other modules might improve their teaching as well.

Purpose: In China, the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has been under control and entered the normal prevention and control stage. For medical college students, many studies have analyzed their knowledge, risk perception, and prevention behaviors of COVID-19, but only a few pieces of research explore the content structure of COVID-19 risk perception and the influencing factors. This study measured the students' risk perception of COVID-19 and its dimensions and analyzed the influencing factors of risk perception among them. Methods: The online questionnaire survey was conducted at Hangzhou Medical College in Zhejiang Province among undergraduates and junior college students. A scale was formulated to precisely measure and analyze the COVID-19 risk perception among medical college students. The factors affecting the COVID-19 risk perception in medical college students were analyzed using the multivariate linear regression model. Results: A total of 810 medical students participated in the survey. Results show that COVID-19 risk perception among medical college students was divided into four dimensions: perceived health threat, perceived severity, perceived controllability, and perceived infection possibility. The results showed that income, education, major, and COVID-19 knowledge were the important factors affecting the COVID-19 risk perception of medical college students. Related factors have different influences on the various dimensions of COVID-19 risk perception. COVID-19 knowledge was significantly related to all dimensions of risk perception. Conclusion: This study evaluates the content structure of medical college students' risk perception of COVID-19 precisely and related influencing factors. It is necessary to grasp the risk perception, prevention, and control behaviors of medical college students of different backgrounds, education levels, and majors. Further knowledge training should be conducted for students majoring in clinical medicine, especially the pandemic prevention and control measure training to enhance their sense of security at work.
