Degrees from colleges and universities have historically been prerequisites for many good paying jobs. While the value of college degrees has recently been questioned by the American public, legislators, and employers, college is still viewed as an important component to the growth and socialization of learners destined to become future employees. Because they offer industry-recognized credentials, certification bodies already have a foothold in the siloed worlds of work and education and may provide an avenue to address the known gaps between employers and educational institutions. By leveraging their ability to identify the needs of employers as well as assessing knowledge and skills, certification bodies may play an important role in developing new opportunities for learners. Therefore, a pathway offering learners the ability to earn a certification while earning their degree provides individuals the ability to showcase a broad base of knowledge as well as work-relevant skills.

Mobility and transportation mean different things to people, even to those who work in various aspects of the ecosystem - from the movement of people or goods to the development of the infrastructure that enables mobility. For decades these different parts of the ecosystem have been approached as entirely independent industries, but the quickened pace of technological change has driven the need to reconsider how these distinct groups create the vibrant tapestry that is our mobility ecosystem. This book seeks to capture the varied perspectives as a collection of diverse views on the future of mobility, to provide a clearer view on the broad base of possibility and opportunity across this interconnected system. "Amazing roster of thought leaders come together to paint a picture of a whole new mobility paradigm in the interest of safety, sustainability, and equity." -- Sven Beiker, PhD. Geranium aedonianum sp. nov. collected from Panikhar village of Kargil district, Ladakh, India belonging to subg. Geranium, is described and illustrated. It differs from other closely allied species: Geranium collinum, G. himalayense and G. strictipes by the obtrullate-obtriangular leaf segments that are narrower at base and with fewer lobes, longer pedicels, staminal filament whitish having broad base tapering smoothly towards apex and glandular hairs along the margins on upper part and its longer fruits.

Cane rat, a micro livestock currently being domesticated has the potential to increase animal protein sources. This study examined the qualitative characteristics of Thyryonomys swinderianus swinderianus (Tss) and Thryonomys swinderianus gregorianus (Tsg). Three hundred and thirty five cane rats were sampled. Seven qualitative characters were coded. These included: Shape of Head (SH), Eye Placement (EP), Ear Shape (ES), Body Pelage (BP), Tail Shape (TS), Tail Colour (TC), Breed (B). The qualitative characters were scored on the individual animals. This measures were analysed using frequency distribution and chi-square analysis. In the Tss population, 89.23% of the animals had broad heads, 10.77% had narrow heads. The broad heads animals had broad tip ear (89.236) have brown and yellow - belly white body colour (89.23%). Their tail is broad base and thin out to tip (87.69%) although a few (1.54%) had broad base and even out to tip. All the broad heads (89.23%) brown and yellow-belly white animals (100.00%) had black and hairy tail. In the Tsg population, 87.06% of the animals had narrow heads, (12,94%) had broad heads. The narrow heads animal (86.67%) had ear with broad tip and have black and yellow-belly white body colour (86.67%). The tail is broad base and thin out is tip (80.39%). All the narrow heads (87.06), black and yellow-belly white (99.61%) animals had black and hairy tail

A new species of Alavesia (Empidoidea: Atelestidae), Alavesia wimpala sp. nov. is described from the mid-Cretaceous amber of Myanmar. Together with the recently described Alavesia longistylata H. Zhang & Wang in Zhang et al. 2020 and A. longicornuta Sinclair & Grimaldi, 2020 the herein described species Alavesia wimpala sp. nov. forms a distinct group of Alavesia Waters & Arillo, 1999 which we consider deserving a subgeneric level. Subgenus Pennonalavesia subgen. nov. is introduced here comprising three species. Males of these species have a very prolonged third segment of stylus bearing a long-oval pennon. The palpus is prolonged and blade- or ribbon-shaped. A catalogue to all 19 species of the genus is given as well as a key to Alavesia (Pennonalavesia subgen. nov.). The function of the prolonged antenna in display and courtship is discussed. Most probably the triangular shape of the wings with its broad base allows a hovering flight in these species to present the pennons at the end of stylus. These characters indicate a high derived courtship behaviour in these flies in the Cretaceous period. On the other hand a possible raptorial behaviour of the new species is suggested.

ABSTRACTMany commentators argued that if elites and voters had coordinated on an alternative candidate, Donald Trump could have been defeated for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination. This claim rests on the implicit assumption that Trump would have been defeated in a head-to-head contest against another candidate—that he was a Condorcet loser. Conventional pre-election polls, however, do not provide enough information about voters’ preferences to assess the plausibility of this claim. Relying on novel data to construct individuals’ complete preferences over the set of leading Republican candidates, we find that no other candidate strictly defeats Trump in pairwise majority-rule comparisons and—far from being a Condorcet loser—that Trump is a member of the majority-rule core. Our results question the plausibility of the coordination narrative because Trump’s support was wider than political observers believed: it came from a broad base of the Republican primary electorate rather than a small but intense minority.

In the Manichaean Coptic Psalm-Book (c. ad 400) we find a hymn (PsB 144.1–146.13) addressed to Sethel/Seth. Hence, a French scholar, André Villey, titled it Hymne à Seth. This is an interesting work, since the biblical figure of Seth is the eponym of one of the two most important movements of Gnosticism, namely Sethianism. In my paper, firstly, I study the characteristics of the figure of Sethel/Seth in the Manichaean writings from Medinet Madi; secondly, I examine whether, as for Sethel/Seth, we can talk about the influence the Sethians on ‘the religion of Light’ or, on the contrary, whether his figure in the Manichaean writings was an original, Manichaean, reinterpretation. Finally, this analysis allows us to draw two important conclusions regarding Manichaeism as a religious system. The first of them is that the Manichaeans drew on a broad base of Judaeo-Christian literature, not only from Gnostic Sethianism. The other is that Manichaeism caused external figures such as Seth/Sethel to lose some of their characteristics in the process of being adapted to the needs of the mentioned religion.
