Relevance. The analysis of these scientific publications has shown the relevance of studying the problem of the influence of sudden changes in meteorological factors on the functioning of the cardiovascular system, exacerbation of its leading diseases – arterial hypertension, brain vascular lesions, cerebrovascular diseases, angina. Aim: to identify the probable relationship of exacerbations of diseases of the cardiovascular system with the meteorological situation. Material and methods. A sample of data on the daily number of cases of patients 'requests for medical care to the registry of the Voronezh City Polyclinic No. 18 for 2018 was conducted. Results. At a temperature below-200C, which was registered on 27.02.2018, the number of requests for medical care due to hypertension without heart failure is 88 cases, with a diagnosis of brain vascular damage (specified) – 15, with a diagnosis of cerebrovascular disease-16, hypertension with heart failure-2, angina-0. The difference in the average daily temperature of more than 8 0C was recorded in 204 of 365 days. Out of 365 days, the atmospheric pressure drop of more than 6 mm Hg per day was recorded 52 times. Conclusions. The most informative characteristic of the six meteorological indicators taken into account in the study is a sharp drop in atmospheric pressure during the day, with which the number of cases of patients with cardiovascular diseases seeking medical care is statistically significantly correlated.

Since the beginning of gold standards, gold is always preferred over paper currency. Over the years, gold has been found to have a peculiar linkage with different asset classes. The current study is an attempt to analyse the probable relationship of gold prices with crises. The current study highlights as to how gold could act as a saviour during the time of global crisis like the current pandemic (COVID 19). Additionally, it conducts a comparative assessment of gold returns vis-à-vis equity market returns and inflation over the last decade. Finally, the study concludes with alternative gold investment options and policy remarks.

ABSTRACT Species that produce seeds with a rigid integument represent a serious problem because their impermeable coat restricts the entry of water, which makes germination difficult. The heteromorphism of the integument in Bowdichia virgilioides causes water imbibition to vary substantially and, therefore, the objective of this work was to study the relation of seed coat color with permeability and viability in Bowdichia virgilioides. Seeds were separated into five different colors (yellowish-orange, orange, orange/reddish, reddish, and rusty red) and the following parameters were analyzed: water absorption, germination, mortality, viability, synchrony, and maximum potential of germination. The color was a determining factor for most of the evaluated parameters. The seeds with yellowish or orange/reddish coats tend to be little permeable to water while seeds with reddish or rusty red coats are highly permeable. The results indicated that seeds with reddish color had greater physiological potential indicating a probable relationship with the maturation point of the species. However, in the seeds of the species studied, irrespective of coloring, germination was late with low synchrony and low daily seed germination count, typical characteristics of dormancy.

AbstractIn world fisheries, incidental non target species mortality have turned in a permanent debate issue. Although many studies have dealt with these interactions from a descriptive overview, there is little information based on fishing operations data. One of the most important species that have awakened scientific concern are seabird, being southern Chile one of the areas with the highest levels in this kind of interactions. In order to improve our understanding on these relationships, we analyze records of fishing hauls of industrial trawlers off the coast of Chile between 39 and 57°S. The results showed that incidental seabird mortality appears to be affected mainly by the collisions with net monitoring systems (net-sonde cable), the duration of fishing hauls, the year period, and the fishing zones, these last related to the breeding period and areas of albatross colonies. We indirectly address a probable relationship between seabird mortality and fishing discards, and some hypothesis are proposed to explain the results. Finally, we demonstrated that longer fishing hauls are less efficient for fishing, beside to a high seabird mortality. Our findings suggest mitigation actions that would harmonize fishing activity with the ecosystem, in particular, for trawl fishing management and operations off far southern Chile.

ABSTRACT We present a clinical case of non-convulsive epileptic status in the post-operative of a 79-year-old patient with no history of epilepsy, and its probable relationship with scheduled antibiotic therapy. Then a discussion about the epileptic status and its appearance as a side effect of the treatment with certain antibiotics is made.

Mild parkinsonian signs (MPS) and cognitive decline are common symptoms of small vessel disease (SVD), and are associated with reduced life quality and duration. There is a probable relationship between the neuroimaging features and SVD symptoms. Objective of this study was to identify whether there is an association between SWI basal nucleus hypointensity, fractional anisotropy and SVD symptoms such as cognitive decline and MPS.
