In this paper, we provide an introduction to the factored regression framework. This modeling framework applies the rules of probability to break up or “factor” a complex joint distribution into a product of conditional regression models. Using this framework, we can easily specify the complex multivariate models that missing data modeling requires. The article provides a brief conceptual overview of factored regression and describes the functional notation used to conceptualize the models. Furthermore, we present a conceptual overview of how the models are estimated and imputations are obtained. Finally, we discuss how users can use the free software package, Blimp, to estimate the models in the context of a mediation example.

This book can be seen as a response to a severe demand in the field of Indian poetics for an introductory book that provides an overview of all the seminal schools of Indian poetical thoughts, keeping in view both the theories and the theoreticians. This book, in the words of authors, is meant to be “An introduction to the world of Sanskrit poetics, explaining its major concepts lucidly for even those who do not know Sanskrit. It offers a comprehensive historical and conceptual overview of all the major schools in Sanskrit poetics…. It is meant to be a beginners’ guide to the awe-inspiring immensity of Sanskrit literature and literary thought, the first step in a journey that should ideally lead to the profundities of ancient thought.” (Chandran et al 2021, p. xii). The discussion in the book progresses with varied theoretical perspectives on Indian aesthetics in a well laid historico-conceptual order. Though the book briefly talks about Tamil poetics putting it parallel to Sanskrit poetics by comparing Tolk?ppiyam with N??ya??stra in the preface, it primarily serves to be an introductory handbook of Sanskrit poetics for the non-Sanskrit University students at various levels. This book succeeds in providing clearer idea of Indian poetical thoughts to its readers.

Anorexia nervosa (AN) is a highly complex disorder to treat, especially in severe and enduring cases. Whilst the precise aetiology of the disorder is uncertain, malnutrition and weight loss can contribute to reductions in grey and white matter of the brain, impairments in neuroplasticity and neurogenesis and difficulties with cognitive flexibility, memory and learning. Depression is highly comorbid in AN and may be a barrier to recovery. However, traditional antidepressants are often ineffective in alleviating depressive symptoms in underweight patients with AN. There is an urgent need for new treatment approaches for AN. This review gives a conceptual overview for the treatment of AN with ketamine. Ketamine has rapid antidepressant effects, which are hypothesised to occur via increases in glutamate, with sequelae including increased neuroplasticity, neurogenesis and synaptogenesis. This article provides an overview of the use of ketamine for common psychiatric comorbidities of AN and discusses particular safety concerns and side effects. Potential avenues for future research and specific methodological considerations are explored. Overall, there appears to be ample theoretical background, via several potential mechanisms, that warrant the exploration of ketamine as a treatment for adults with AN.

Abstract:Digital technologies and their access possibilities are increasingly present in the subject's life, from the first days of life, interfering in the development of human beings from childhood. In this perspective, the study in question presents a brief reflection on playing in digital culture in the children's context against digital technologies. Aiming to discuss the relevance of playing in childhood and the relationship of digital technologies in teaching and learning. To achieve the objective outlined, it is intended to present a conceptual overview of playing and possible adversities in digital culture, with methodology, developed from bibliographic and documental research, from the perspective of Marques; Peccin (2005), Souza; Silva; Carvalho (2010) and Lakatos; Marconi (2010). In this sense, the text discusses conceptions and analyzes about playing, emphasizing the mobilization of knowledge, the construction of learning and socialization for digital culture, to contribute to the integral formation of the child as a whole. It appears that playing in the 21st century undergoes countless changes, reaching spaces, times and routines, diversifying environments for the movement of play and games, that is, playing is influenced by technologies, and, thus, it becomes It is relevant to discuss and reflect on whether such transformations resulting from technological evolution are opportune for the childhood context. Keywords: Digital Technologies; Childhood; Play.

2*2 games, such as the Prisoner's Dilemma, are a common tool for studying cooperation and social decision-making. In experiments, 2*2 games are usually presented in matrix form, such that participants see only the possible outcomes. Some 2*2 games can be decomposed into payoffs for self and other, such that participants see the direct consequences of two actions. While the final outcomes of the decomposed form and the matrix-form can be identical, the framing differs: the matrix form emphasises the outcome, the decomposed form emphasises the action. This allows decomposed games to address questions that could not be answered with matrix games. Here, we provide a conceptual overview of decomposed games that is accessible without knowing the underlying mathematics. We explain which 2*2 games can be decomposed, why the same payoff matrix can be decomposed into infinitely many decompositions, and we apply this to (a)symmetric games, (a)symmetric decompositions, and games with ties. Finally, we show how to calculate all decompositions for a given game and we suggest when the decomposed form might be more appropriate than the matrix form for an experimental design.

Precision medicine, nutrition and behavioral interventions are attempting to move beyond the specification of therapies applied to groups, since some people benefit, some do not and some are harmed by the same therapy. Instead, precision therapies are attempting to employ diverse sets of data to individualize or tailor interventions to optimize the benefits for the receiving individuals. The benefits to be achieved are mostly in the distant future, but the research needs to start now. While precision pediatric nutrition will combine diverse demographic, behavioral and biological variables to specify the optimal foods a child should eat to optimize health, precision food parenting will combine diverse parent and child psychosocial and related variables to identify the optimal parenting practices to help a specific child accept and consume the precision nutrition specified foods. This paper presents a conceptual overview and hypothetical model of factors we believe are needed to operationalize precision food parenting and a proposed research agenda to better understand the many specified relationships, how they change over the age of the child, and how to operationalize them to encourage food parenting practices most likely to be effective at promoting healthy child food choices.

The ability to understand ourselves and take others’ perspectives is fundamental to the development of our sense of self. This article explores self-as-context, an acceptance and commitment therapy process that fosters a healthy sense of self and flexible perspective-taking. The discussion begins with a conceptual overview of self-as-context, highlighting its relevance to psychological well-being and its relation to both relational frame theory and traditional behavior-analytic principles. Also provided here are clinical descriptions of the process of change involved in developing a self-as-context repertoire and the means of assessing self-as-context, as well as a synthesis of the research that has been done on self-as-context to date. Finally, future directions for research and practice with this process of change are described.

Supply chain management (SCM) is a complex network of multiple entities ranging from business partners to end consumers. These stakeholders frequently use social media platforms, such as Twitter and Facebook, to voice their opinions and concerns. AI-based applications, such as sentiment analysis, allow us to extract relevant information from these deliberations. We argue that the context-specific application of AI, compared to generic approaches, is more efficient in retrieving meaningful insights from social media data for SCM. We present a conceptual overview of prevalent techniques and available resources for information extraction. Subsequently, we have identified specific areas of SCM where context-aware sentiment analysis can enhance the overall efficiency.
