Atomic Switch Networks comprising silver iodide (AgI) junctions, a material previously unexplored as functional memristive elements within highly interconnected nanowire networks, were employed as a neuromorphic substrate for physical Reservoir Computing This new class of ASN-based devices has been physically characterized and utilized to classify spoken digit audio data, demonstrating the utility of substrate-based device architectures where intrinsic material properties can be exploited to perform computation in-materio. This work demonstrates high accuracy in the classification of temporally analyzed Free-Spoken Digit Data These results expand upon the class of viable memristive materials available for the production of functional nanowire networks and bolster the utility of ASN-based devices as unique hardware platforms for neuromorphic computing applications involving memory, adaptation and learning.

Caring as a human trait means that a nurse should have a caring personality. As a personality, caring will be an enduring characteristic and behavior; so, a caring nurse always shows caring behavior throughout his or her lifetime. Although experts have studied and applied the concept of caring, studies on the concept of a caring personality are rare. The purpose of this article is to conceptualize the meaning and significance of a caring personality among nurses providing nursing care. To achieve this, we used the Walker and Avant concept analysis approach. The attributes of a caring personality include (1) altruism, (2) emotional intelligence, (3) emotional stability, (4) personal integrity, and (5) optimism. The antecedents of these attributes are biological bases, characteristic adaptation, and learning organization. Nurses with caring personalities will have an impact on professional caring and patient satisfaction. This article presents case examples and a definition of a caring personality. This study concludes that a caring personality in a nurse is an essential foundation for the provision of professional care and satisfaction of patients in nursing care and that the nurse must have a caring personality, in order to provide high-quality, humanized healthcare.

Aim Social workers are often called to intervene in situations that are difficult to solve because of their complexity. The article proposes a theoretical framework grounded in complexity and chaos theories that explores the structure and non-linear causality of complex systems, their complex and non-linear dynamics and different conditions leading to adjustment, adaptation and learning. Findings While examples inspired by practice and research findings with families and various professionals are used to illustrate complex situations, the article rather presents different notions related to this theoretical framework. Applications Some implications for practice and education are explored as a way to encourage discussions with regards to the value of a theoretical framework based on complexity for social work professionals.

Objective. To understand the meaning of the experience of the indigenous when receiving care in a low-complexity hospital. Methods. Qualitative study with ethnographic approach conducted in a hospital of Antioquia, Colombia. The study had 12 indigenous participants who underwent semi-structured interviews. Observation was carried out in hospitalization wards, emergency, and outpatient services of the institution during 40 hours. The analysis process was performed descriptively. The methodological rigor was maintained by applying criteria of confirmability, credibility, transferability, and consistency. The study was approved by the Ethics Committee and authorized by the indigenous authorities to enter the field. Results. Five themes emerged: the context of caring for the indigenous, the need to consult the hospital, changes experienced by the indigenous in the hospital, experiences in relation with treatments, and relations established within the hospital. The meaning is constructed from a dichotomous perspective based on the favorable or unfavorable aspects of the situations and experiences, which for the indigenous is like “changing home”. Conclusion. The meaning of the experience of receiving care in hospital for the indigenous is constructed from the context in which they live and receive health services, the changes they live in the dimension of space by virtue of their traveling from their vital space to another space that, due to their physical characteristics, results strange and different, even not healing. Upon the difficulties, the indigenous develop strategies and actions to overcome limitations, whether through adaptation and learning.
