It is an established Hellenistic topos that philosophy is the ‘medicine’ of the soul, in charge of ‘healing’ the soul in the same way as medicine is in charge of healing the body. The ‘diseases’ of the soul deemed to be in need of healing are its passions, that is, its fears and desires, and the moral ‘health’ that philosophers pledge to grant their followers is freedom from passions and hence peace of mind.

Artificial intelligence (AI) has brought lots of excitement to our day-to-day lives. Some examples are spam email detection, language translation, etc. Baby monitoring devices are being used to send video data of the baby to the caregiver’s smartphone. However, the automatic understanding of the data was not implemented in most of these devices. In this research, AI and image processing techniques were developed to automatically recognize unwanted situations that the baby was in. The monitoring device automatically detected: (a) whether the baby’s face was covered due to sleeping on the stomach; (b) whether the baby threw off the blanket from the body; (c) whether the baby was moving frequently; (d) whether the baby’s eyes were opened due to awakening. The device sent notifications and generated alerts to the caregiver’s smartphone whenever one or more of these situations occurred. Thus, the caregivers were not required to monitor the baby at regular intervals. They were notified when their attention was required. The device was developed using NVIDIA’s Jetson Nano microcontroller. A night vision camera and Wi-Fi connectivity were interfaced. Deep learning models for pose detection, face and landmark detection were implemented in the microcontroller. A prototype of the monitoring device and the smartphone app were developed and tested successfully for different scenarios. Compared with general baby monitors, the proposed device gives more peace of mind to the caregivers by automatically detecting un-wanted situations.

Kretschmer's doctrine of the correlation between physique and character overlooks a question that lies in the plane of similar correlations, namely, that of the correlation between motor functions and the mental structure of personality. This question attracts much attention these days and must occupy the most legitimate place among other problems included in the study of personality, both healthy and sick. In the latter case, it is worth remembering at least the instructions of Wernicke (2), who opined that "the general pathology of mental diseases consists in nothing else than in peculiarities of motor behavior".

Our knowledge of the causes of mental diseases, in spite of the conflicting statements of morbid anatomy, has of late years had a tendency to remove from our minds, many doubts we might have been disposed to retain, as to the important part which the body takes, as an organic system, in the production of those diseases; and the ample results of a persistent and judicious application of therapeutic means, justifies the belief, that as the science of animal chemistry advances, and our knowledge, not merely of ultimate analysis, but of organic synthesis, is enlarged, we may have the gratification of seeing this protean malady deprived of many of its most painful and most formidable symptoms.

In the modern world, the yoga plays a vital role in human life. To realise the truth and meaning of life, one has to practice yogic discipline in everyday living. The human body is made up of five elements such as akash, air, fire, water and earth. An air plays a very important role to survive by providing life energy. Everyday practice of pranayama would help in regulating respiratory system (Breathing exercise) as well as circulatory system. The physical exercises regulate the circulation of blood, heat, air in the body. The practice of asana would help in bringing flexibility in our muscular system so as to enhance the meditation process. The practice of meditation gives peace of mind and improves integirity. The practice of yoga will improve self-confidence, self-control, speaking truth, tolerance and social virtues. Each and every individual should practice yoga, asanas, meditation and do self-analysis exercises such as analysis of thoughts, moralisation of desires, nutralisation of anger and eradication of worries. This would help to bring hormoney between body and mind, habit and wisdom, self and society. Purpose and method and will and nature.

Mr. Frederic Harrison, V.P.R.Hist. S., said:It is now just one hundred years ago that, in a remote village church under Ashdown Forest in Sussex, and in the most simple manner, were laid to rest, by the loving care of his lifelongfriend, the mortal remains of the most famous writer of history in the English language. Edward Gibbon, the immortal author of ‘The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire’, died in London in January 1794, at the age of 56, after an illness of a few days, almost in the fulnessof his intellectual power, at the zenith of his fame, with the great work of his life achieved, in perfect peace of mind, and surrounded by the esteem and affection of all who knew him. Hisdear friend, we may almost say his brother by adoption, Lord Sheffield, whose grandson to-day presides over this gathering, placed the body in the Sheffield mausoleum in Fletching Church, where it still reposes; and he collected in the house of Sheffield Place portraits, miniatures, personal relics, manuscripts, diaries, and letters of the historian; and there, until now, they have been religiously preserved as heirlooms in the Sheffield family. Nor have the literary remains ever been examined since the publication of Lord Sheffield's five volumes of ‘Miscellaneous Works’ in 1814, except partially by Dean Milman more than fifty years ago.

It can be argued that there was no intellectual figure at work in Rome in the period of the late Republic who had more originality and influence than the Bithynian doctor Asclepiades, who founded an important medical school and was still being attacked nearly three hundred years after his death by Galen, and two hundred years later still by Caelius Aurelianus. His claims to originality rested both on his theory of the causes of disease, and on his methods of treatment. Turning away from the Empiricism recently fashionable, he argued that experience without λόγoς, theory or reason, was useless. His own theory was based on the scientific ideas of the late fourth-century philosopher Heraclides Ponticus, and seems to have postulated not ἂτoμα, tiny indivisible particles, but ὂγκoι, masses, which are continually in motion and splitting into innumerable fragments, θραύσματα, of different shapes and sizes, which re-form to create perceptible bodies. The particles were separated by invisible gaps, πόρoι or pores; friction between particles created the heat of the human body, but jamming of its pores was often the cause of pain and disease. This purely mechanistic doctrine was anathema to Galen because of its insufficient reverence for the doctrines of Hippocrates, and above all for the belief in the sympathy of the various parts of the body, the purposive character of Nature's creation, and her own healing effort; and also for the doctrine of the four, or more, humours.

Trade of pre-owned context-dependent-pricey mechanical equipment involves lots of uncertainty, due to the complexity of the condition checking procedure of this category of equipment. We put forward the idea of continuous operation monitoring and simple reporting to make this trade experience as efficient and peaceful as possible. To validate the practicality of the idea, we choose pre-owned passenger vehicles as the target use-case. In the last several years, the market for secondhand car sales has grown a lot, due to its affordability and rising new car prices, thus, giving it a larger share of the overall car market’s value. The used car trade is usually a time-consuming, stressful, and fraud-prone process. In this paper, we propose a system, which is a novel concept rather than technology, to represent the treatment history of a car simply with two scores, denoting the mechanical and the body treatments, using the electronic control unit and other add-on sensors’ information. These scores are cyclically and wirelessly transmitted to and recorded in a data center to be fetched at a later time. The two treatment scores alongside the production year, the mileage, the vehicle history reports, and online marketplace valuations provide buyers with comfort and peace of mind in choosing a used car.

The spread of physical and mental diseases is resulted from failing to follow the Qur'anic and prophetic guidance in preserving both the body and mind. Today, Islamic societies are suffering from such a situation because of their distance from the principle of prevention, whether in the field of health education or preventive medicine. The research aims at explaining the Holy Quran and the Sunnah as a means of educating and caring for the Muslim individual as well as highlighting the role of Quran and Sunnah in the field of preventive medicine, both physically and mentally. In this study, the researcher used descriptive analytical method and deductive approach. The research has reached a number of results, including: Firstly, the Holy Quran has already established the principles of preventive medicine in the field of physical and mental health as their introduction reduces the remedial costs for the country and family. Secondly, non-adherence to the taboos not only bring woes on the individual, family and nation but also seek to influence the production. Finally, the implementation of preventive medicine principles reduces the incidence of disease among members of society. Even though the absence of the body prevents sure conclusions, the death of Alexander the Great remains a hot topic of retrospective diagnosis. Due to the serious mishandling of ancient sources, the scientific literature had Alexander dying of every possible natural cause. In previous works, the hypothesis that typhoid fever killed Alexander was proposed, based on the presence of the remittent fever typical of this disease in the narrations of Plutarch and Arrian. Here we provide additional evidence for the presence of stupor, the second distinctive symptom of typhoid fever. In fact, based on the authority of Caelius Aurelianus and Galen, we demonstrate that the word ἄφωνος, used to describe the last moments of Alexander, is a technical word of the lexicon of the pathology of Hippocrates. Used by him, the word defines a group of diseases sharing a serious depression of consciousness and motility. The association of stupor with the remittent fever strengthens the typhoid fever hypothesis.

Human being equipped by God Almighty with a variety of gifts which enable them to carry a burden of duties. The gifts are power of the body, vitality and power al-qalb. Islam has made clear necessity of a proper functioning of al-qalb to think in order to develop knowledge. It will help people to carry caliphate duties on earth properly, under the guidance of al-Qur’an and al-Sunnah. One way to enhance thinking of al-qalb required by Islam is dzikir, therefore, someone will find peace of mind and feel close to God. Feeling close to God, a person’s soul will be controlled. Conversely, if a person is not functioning qalb for dzikir, so he will experience drought soul. In al-Qur’an, al-qalb may have some meanings; it refers to the context of verse that contains in it. Moreover, to present the meaning of al-qalb is not always disclosure with the word of al-qalb, but also often disclosure by using the word of al-fuad, al-lub, al-nafs and al-sadr
