ABSTRACTTheir efforts to save the forests and increase the amount of benefit, at this time began use of environmental services, one through nature tourism activities. Bukit Baka Bukit Raya National Park as a conservation area has been used as a natural tourism activities and one of them is climbing Bukit Raya. In addition to have a positive impact, climbing activities also had a negative impact if it does not pay attention to the environmental carrying capacity climbing lane itself. This study aimed to calculate the carrying capacity Bukit Raya hiking paths that are on the West Kalimantan. The method used in this research is to calculate the physical carrying capacity (PCC), the real carrying capacity (RCC) and the effective carrying capacity (ECC) with the formula developed by Cifuentes (1992). Calculation shows the value of PCC in Bukit Raya hiking trail is 200 people per day, RCC sebannyak 15 people per day and Bukit Raya ECC climbing path can not be calculated due to the lack of tread design that affect the facility and the appointment of management personnel definitively. Keywords:  Capability, Trailhead, Ecotourism, National Park, Bukit RayaCara sitasi: Aryanto ,T., Purnaweni, H., dan Soeprobowati, T. This paper examines what is needed to transform nature tourism to protected areas into ecotourism, having genuine social benefits and serving as a tool for sustainable community development. It draws on the case of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Tanzania’s most visited protected area, and a multiple land use zone inhabited by the pastoral Maasai peoples. I argue that for ecotourism to promote sustainable development in communities that are its supposed beneficiaries, three fundamental conditions must be met. First, opportunities to capture the economic benefits of tourism must be structured in a way that is culturally appropriate, and therefore accessible to the target population. Second, for communities to benefits from ecotourism, they need secure land tenure over the area in which it takes place, as well as the ability to make land use decisions for that area. Third, tourism benefits to local communities must be more than economic; they must promote deeper social and political justice goals that, if left unaddressed, restrict peoples’ ability to enjoy the economic benefits of tourism. Without these elements, the conservation outcomes of ecotourism are likely to be less favorable.

This research activity was carried out based on a case study conducted by Generasi Biologi Indonesia (Genbinesia) in the activities of Botany Adventure in Turgo Hill. This study objectives to determine the diversity of edible flora, analyze the potential of botany adventure bio tourism and plan strategies for special interest in botanical bio tourism in Turgo Hill. The research method used for the inventory of edible flora is carried out by exploring methods in 2 locations based on the elevation of 500 meters respectively. Analysis of potential bio tourism used descriptive methods through field observation, asked the questionnaires, and interviewed participants. The bio tourism strategy plan is compiled with the SWOT technique. The results of the study show that the diversity of edible flora along the tracking routes as many as 60 species. Based on the analysis of potential, Botany Adventure Biotourism activities are feasible in Bukit Turgo with a feasibility index of 92.15%. The highest potential is supported by the attractiveness of natural resources, accessibility, and the availability of clean water.
