Most of the authors single out megacities as a special form of settlement, and speak of exceeding the level and pace of socio-economic development. Megacities attract enterprises of various business areas, as it is believed that this will have a positive impact on their development. In this paper, we assess the industry structure of the largest cities, analyze its differences from smaller territories, and conduct a discriminant analysis in order to identify the subjects of the Russian Federation that are predisposed to the appearance of a metropolis in them.

The publication presents the biography and autobiographical motives of the lyrics of the Ukrainian writer Lyudmyla Ovdienko. The purpose of the article is to present a biography and analysis of the poetic heritage of a fellow artist in the autobiographical aspect. We came to the conclusion that Lyudmila Ovdienko’s lyrical cycle is not only a specific type of context, but also a special form of creativity, a type of integrity that differs from the usual collection of poems and is a sequence of texts formed by the author. We are convinced that motives-images are significant for the poet’s autobiographical lyrics. Of the many motifs that sound in the poems, the most prominent is the autobiographical. The emergence of the genre of autobiographical motives in the creative work of L. Ovdienko is determined by a special type of thinking of the author, the national tradition. The leading place in the consideration of lyric poetry is given to the study of motives-images (motive-family, motive-village). These motives the most significant for the autobiographical lyrics of our compatriot.

This article is devoted to the problem of operator interpolation and functional differentiation. Some information about the variational derivatives and explicit formulas for the exact solutions of the simplest equations containing the first variational derivatives of the required functional are given. For functionals defined on sets of functions and square matrices, various interpolating polynomials of the Hermitе type with nodes of the second multiplicity, which contain the first variational derivatives of the interpolated operator, are constructed. The presented solutions of the Hermitе interpolation problems are based on the algebraic Chebyshev system of functions. For analytic functions with an argument from a set of square matrices, explicit formulas for antiderivatives of functionals are obtained. The solution of some differential equations with integral operators of a special form and the first variational derivatives is found. The problem of the inverse interpolation of functions and operators is considered. Explicit schemes for constructing inverse functions and functionals, including the case of functions of a matrix variable, obtained using certain well-known results of interpolation theory, are demonstrated. Data representation is illustrated by a number of examples.

The article studies the concept of the global social order as a subject of social research. The author starts with pointing at the changes in the structure and the character of the today's global social order (acceleration of exchanges and flows, gradual disappearing of a single hegemony, multipolarity) and claims that it is exactly capitalism that becomes a foundation for multipolar but yet unequal constitution of the global order. The article proposes to deal with the global social order as an example of a global subject – alternative to world system or global system – which can be placed in focus of social research. Also, the paper offers a definition to the notions of social order and global social order. Then the author provides several possible classification of the approaches to the study of the global social order, and then moves on to pointing out their mutual positions. The paper considers capitalism as a special form of global social order and suggests to analyze imperialism and neocolonialism as, on the one hand, the products of this order, and on the other hand, as instruments for its legitimation and hegemony. In the further research the suggested model can be used, first, for the improvements in the study of sociology's global subject, and, second, for deepening the knowledge about the process of (re)production of global social order.

Abstract This study presents the results of a cognitive analysis of Winston Churchill’s historical works and memoirs at the textual, lingual and conceptual levels in order to interpret the implicatures of Churchill’s reflection discourse. The scope of the present research covers Winston Churchill’s historical works and memoirs as one of the most fruitful types of literary text with regard to the realization of reflection, which is organically interwoven into his texts. The study is done by means of complex analysis with the application of discourse, textual, semantic, cognitive, and conceptual analyses. In the process of the investigation, it was found that Churchill’s reflection discourse represents a special form of language use that discloses a cognitive personality type, which is characterized by the prevalence of logical, deductive and cause-and-effect reasoning. The conceptual space of Churchill’s reflection discourse is constructed as a network model which represents different types of relations among the reflection concepts (subordination, identity, spatial, associative, subjective-and-causative, opposition, causativeand-resultative, attributive, qualitative, attributive-and-possessive, attributive-and-appositive, partitive, functional, reversive-and-functional, paradoxical, and dependency). The verbalization of the reflection concepts actualizes the implicatures of Churchill’s reflection discourse and helps determine the dominant messages implied in Winston Churchill’s historical works and memoirs.

In this paper, we consider the problem of recovering a function in three-dimensional space from a family of cones with a weight function of a special form. Exact solutions of the problem are obtained for the given weight functions. A class of parameters for the problem that has no solution is constructed.

The article is devoted to the study of the legal nature of the cost of unaccounted electricity, the calculation of which is a consequence of the commission of relevant offenses in sphere of economic activities. Attention is drawn to the problem of qualification of the cost of unaccounted electricity and the active dynamics of changing the positions of the judiciary on the issue, the lack of a common position on the legal nature of these losses. It is noted that economic courts do not make a legal assessment of such losses in the process of considering cases for cost recovery of unaccounted electricity or such an assessment is debatable. It is noted also that the cost of unaccounted electricity in law enforcement practice qualifies as operational-economic sanctions, and as losses, and as payment for the cost of electricity (a special form of liability). In this regard, the key aspects of the application of such forms of economic and legal liability as operational-economic sanctions and compensation for losses are analyzed, the features of contractual debt are determined. Arguments are given that exclude the possibility of recognizing the accrual of the cost of unaccounted electricity by operational-economic sanctions. It is proved that the cost of unaccounted electricity is not a payment for the supplied electricity, including debt. Based on the analysis of the relevant rules of economic legislation and special regulations governing relations in the electricity market, and according to scientific positions on forms of economic liability and judicial practice of recovery of unaccounted electricity, arguments are presented and it is substantiated that disputes on recovery of unaccounted electricity in the field of economic activities are disputes over the recovery of losses, and the value of unaccounted electricity in the field of economic activities by its legal nature are losses in the form of the value of lost property.

Using the criterion of convergence of branched continued fractions of the special form with positive elements, effective sufficient criteria of convergence for these fractions are established. To study the parabolic regions of convergence, the element regions and value regions technique was used. In particular, half-planes are considered as value regions. A multidimensional analogue of Tron's twin convergence regions for branched continued fractions of the special form is established. The obtained results made it possible to establish the conditions for the convergence of the multidimensional $S$-fractions with independent variables.

We prove a theorem on the preservation of inequalities between functions of a special form after differentiation on an ellipse. In particular, we obtain generalizations of the Duffin–Schaeffer inequality and the Vidensky inequality for the first and second derivatives of algebraic polynomials to an ellipse.
