An egalitarian model of university-school partnerships starts with a theoretical frame of equity and social justice. This qualitative research study sought to understand high school students’ perception of community service through an intergenerational university-high school-elementary school partnership. Data analysis consisted of detailed notes collected from university faculty who oversaw the focus group discussions and two graduate assistants who took observational notes.  These notes were analyzed and thematically organized.  The findings indicate that the students enjoyed the experience and were highly motivated to complete and read their community themed book for the younger children in their community.  This research contributes new knowledge to the field of community engagement and to the field of informal and formal education through its analysis of discussions on meaningful community service pertaining to university-school collaborative partnerships.

Abstrak Pengabdian kepada masyarakat merupakan bagian integral tri dharma perguruan tinggi yang melibatkan dosen, mahasiswa, dan tenaga kependidikan. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat bertujuan memberikan makna kebermanfaatan keberadaan Program Magister Administrasi Pendidikan kepada sekolah Kasih Immanuel dalam meningkatkan kompetensi mengimplementasikan kurikulum 2013. Populasi seluruh guru SD, SMP, SMA Kasih Immanuel sebanyak 15 orang dan sampel penelitian seluruh guru, namun yang hadir 12 orang. Data diperoleh dengan wawancara mendalam terhadap kepala sekolah dan guru. Selain itu data diperoleh melalui instrumen pre test dan post test. Data dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif. Hasil pengabdian kepada masyarakat menunjukkan: (1) Guru mengajar merangkap di SD, SMP, dan SMA, (2) Guru yang memenuhi standar kualifikasi pendidikan 50%, (3) Guru yang sudah tersertifikasi 25%, dan (4) Pemberian bimbingan teknis implementasi kurikulum 2013 sangat bermanfaat meningkatkan kompetensi pedagogik, personal, sosial dan profesional. Implikasi pengabdian kepada masyarakat guru semakin termotivasi melengkapi rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran (RPP) dan meningkatkan profesionalitas guru.  Kata kunci: Kompetensi, implementasi, Kurikulum 2013 Abstract Community service is an integral part of the three pillars of higher education that involves lecturers, students, and education staff. Community service aims to give meaning to the usefulness of the existence of the Educational Administration, graduate Program Universitas Kristen Indonesia to the Kasih Immanuel school in improving the competence of implementing the 2013 curriculum. The population of all elementary school, junior high school students is Kasih Immanuel as many as 15 people and a sample of all teachers, but there are 12 people present. Data obtained by in-depth interviews with principals and teachers. In addition, data were obtained through pre-test and post-test instruments. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results of community service show: (1) Teachers teaching concurrently in elementary, middle and high school, (2) Teachers who meet the 50% educational qualification standard, (3) 25% certified teachers, and (4) Providing technical implementation guidance the 2013 curriculum is very useful in increasing pedagogical, personal, social and professional. The implications of service to the teacher community are increasingly motivated to complete the lesson plan and increase teacher professionalism.  Keywords: Competence, implementation, curriculum

The third mission of a university is a community service. Based on this mission, this paper presents the activity of community service. The activity was training for senior high school students and teachers. The subjects of the training are actuators, IoT, and IP address. These components or subsystems are very important basic industrial instrumentation for further automation. These subsystems are very correlated with each other. Some actuators are electric, hydraulic, and pneumatic types. There are many applications of IoT and IP addresses, such as smart grids and communications.

ABSTRAKPengabdian masyarakat yang dilakukan pada beberapa sekolah menengah atas di daerah Banjarmasin ini bertujuan untuk mengenalkan  pemanfaatan teknologi sebagai media pembelajaran.Pengabdian ini berfokus pada pemanfaatan teknologi berbasis perangkat lunak Android pada ponsel siswa sekolah menengah atas di daerah Banjarmasin untuk digunakan sebagai media belajar. Sehingga pelajar tidak merasa jenuh saat melakukan aktivitas pembelajaran. Berdasarkan observasi dan pembagian angket pada 34 siswa di 5 sekolah menengah atas daerah Banjarmasin didapatkan bahwa lebih dari 80% siswa-siswa di sekolah menengah atas masih menggunakan media konvensional dalam memahami sebuah materi pelajaran. Selain itu penggunaan teknologi dalam memahami materi pembelajaran didapatkan siswa dari internet dan hanya sedikit yang mengetahui bahwa sudah ada aplikasi-aplikasi berbasis android yang bisa digunakan sebagai salah satu media pembelajaran. Hal ini menjadi salah satu faktor pendorong rendahnya minat anak untuk belajar sehingga ada anggapan jika mata pelajaran tertentu sangat sulit dipahami, terutama mata pelajaran berbasis sains. Salah satu solusi yang coba ditawarkan adalah penggunaan aplikasi berbasis android sebagai media pembelajar. Hal ini ditunjang dengan gaya keseharian pelajar zaman sekarang yang tidak terlepas dari penggunaan gawai. Sosialisasi penggunaan aplikasi kepada siswa sekolah menengah atas menunjukkan hasil yang positif, dimana siswa merasa terbantu untuk memahami materi pembalajaran. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari respon pengisisan kuosiener setelah pengenalan aplikasi, dimana lebih dari 95% responden merasa lebih mudah memahami materi dengan adanya aplikasi android. Kata kunci:pendidikan; perangkat lunak; teknologi. ABSTRACTThis community service which was carried out at several senior high schools in the Banjarmasin area aims to introduce the use of technology as a learning medium. This service focuses on the use of Android software-based technology on the mobile phones of high school students in the Banjarmasin area to be used as learning media. So that students do not feel bored when doing learning activities. Based on observations and questionnaires distribution to 34 students in 5 high schools in the Banjarmasin area, it was found that more than 80% of students in high schools still used conventional media in understanding a subject matter. In addition, the use of technology in understanding learning material is obtained by students from the internet and only a few know that there are Android-based applications that can be used as a learning medium. This is one of the factors driving children's low interest in learning so that there is an assumption that certain subjects are very difficult to understand, especially science-based subjects. One solution that is being offered is the use of Android-based applications as a learning medium. This is supported by the daily style of students today which cannot be separated from the use of gadgets. The socialization of the use of the application to high school students shows positive results, where students find it helpful to understand the learning material. This can be seen from the response to filling in the questionnaire after the introduction of the application, where more than 95% of respondents find it easier to understand the material with the android application. Keywords: education; software; technology.

This community service was a training in writing descriptive text for junior high school students in Joboan village, Probolinggo city. The method of this community service covered four stages: a) analyzing, b) planning and developing the content, c) implementing and d) training. In analyzing stage, the writer found problems faced by the students in writing descriptive text. In planning and developing the content stage, the writer developed method to write descriptive text by utilizing picture and guided question. With this pandemic situation, in implementing stage, the writer gathered 10 participants by applying health protocol suggested by the Government. Training stage was done for three days, 20-22 of July 2020. In the first day, the writer gave explanation related descriptive text. In the second day, the participants started to practice writing descriptive text by using picture and guided question. Feedback was given in the third day. The results of this training were shown by the presence of all participants three days in a row, they also gave responds and asked questions enthusiastically in the training process. The participants no longer faced difficulty in writing descriptive text since they knew that picture and guided question can help them write descriptive text better. Science museums not only function as collection, exhibition, research, and leisure locations, but are also important sites for education. Thus, science museums often organize various activities to educate the public and deliver various key concepts. Museums organize diverse activities, such as exhibitions, lectures, hands-on activities, tours, demonstrations, and drama. Subsequently, to highlight issues related to energy saving and carbon reduction (ESCR), the National Science and Technology Museum (NSTM) organized a 3-day workshop, recruiting 60 students from 2 high schools to participate in diverse promotional activities. For high school students, this diverse educational promotion method is seldom experienced in formal education; thus, presenting an extremely rare opportunity. For museums, designing activities specifically for high school students is also uncommon. Therefore, the effectiveness of using a high school-specific multi-approach activity design to promote education objectives has yet to be determined. This study analyzes the participants' level of acceptance and learning effectiveness regarding the various ESCR activities. Data were collected using questionnaire surveys, activity feedback, interviews, and observation records. Subsequently, these data were qualitatively and quantitatively analyzed to determine the students' acceptance levels and learning effectiveness regarding the various activities.

In a small (pop. 25,000) Eastern community in the United States, “counselors” (teachers, parents, police, mental health clinic workers, and ministers) and high school students were interviewed and tested to ascertain knowledge regarding drugs. Data suggest that less is known about certain categories of drugs than others; drug users are more knowledgeable about drugs than non-users; police scored consistently lower than other “counselors” and students; and those with higher levels of formal education scored higher. Particular problems and areas of ignorance among the (usually non-drug using) adults who give counsel require identification to aid in establishing more realistic, efficient, and effective organizing, staffing, and operating of programs.

Penggunaan internet dengan smartphone melalui hasil survei mengungkapkan bahwa rata-rata pengakses internet Indonesia berasal dari smartphone atau sekitar 67,2 juta atau 50,7 persen. Penggunaan internet tidak hanya digunakan oleh kalangan dewasa atau mahasiswa tetapi siswa sekolah (SMP,SMA) sudah banyak yang menggunakan internet. Penggunaan akses internet lebih banyak digunakan untuk media sosial (facebook, instagram dll), tetapi bagi siswa SMA akses internet belum digunakan secara baik dalam berkomentar atau menulis pada media sosial tidak menunjukkan etika komunikasi yang baik. Tujuan pengabdian masyarakat ini siswa SMA memiliki keterampilan penguasaan penggunakaan bahasa dan perilaku dalam menggunakan media sosial. Pada target pengabdian ini yang dilakukan di sekolah SMA Dharma Wanita Surabaya yakni terciptanya lingkungan sekolah yang beretika siswa degan mengetahui etika dari penggunaan media sosial khususnya etika dalam membuat status, komen dan membagikan video. Target lainnya siswa Sekolah Menengah Atas Dharma Wanita Surabaya diharapkan memiliki keterampilan dalam berbahasa dan berperilaku menggunakan media sosial. Metode pelaksanaan pengabdian dengan cara mentransfer ilmu tentang etika berkomunikasi di media sosial dengan cara memberikan pelatihan, transfer ilmu yang  dilakukan yakni etika menggunakan short message servive (SMS), etika menggunakan email, etika menggunakan media sosial resmi seperti facebook, instagram, twitter dan lain-lain dan etika bertelepon. Berdasarkan hasil tanya jawab pembicara dengan siswa SMA Dharma Wanita Surabaya kemampuan siswa dalam beretika sudah mulai dilakukan, hal ini ditunjukkan dari postingan video siswa melalui instagram  dan tanggapan atau komentar siswa ketika diberi kasus yang berkaitan dengan tindak pidana ITE. Based on a a survey conducted on internet use with smartphones, the average internet user in Indonesia comes from smartphones, which is around 67.2 million or 50.7 percent. Internet users are not only adults, but also students from middle and high schools have also widely used the internet. The internetis widely used to access social media such as Facebook, Instagram, and etc. However, internet users particularly high school students do not use their internet access properly. For instance, they put a comment or write something in social media which does not indicate good communication ethics. This community service aims to aid high school students in order to achievea more comprehensive understanding of language usage and to control their behavior through social media. The target of this community service conducted in Dharma Wanita High School Surabaya is to create an ethical school environment. In this case, students are expected to have good ethics in using social media especially while writing a status, commenting, and video sharing. Moreover, students of Dharma Wanita High School Surabaya are assumed to possess good language skills and behavioral control when using social media. The implementation of this community service is done by transferring knowledge about communication ethics in social media such as providing training. Transfer of knowledge includes ethics of using short message service (SMS), email, chat, and ethics of using official social media such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and others and telephone ethics as well. According to the question and answer session with the students of Dharma Wanita High School Surabaya, the community service seems to have been implemented. This is shown from their videos postings and responses on Instagram or their comments when they were given cases relating to ITE criminal acts.

HARM REDUCTION POLICY IMPLEMENTATION TO IMPROVE MORAL KNOWING ABOUT NARCOTICS IN HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS IN REGENCY OF LABUHANBATU UTARA, NORTH SUMATRA. Narcotics are drugs or substances that are usually used for health purposes. Self-destructive behavior that often occurs at this time is the use of narcotics among students due to the low Moral Knowing students about narcotics. This community service aims to improve students' Moral Knowing about narcotics by implementing the Harm Reduction policy by using Cognitive Behavior Therapy counseling and Peer Educators by applying Brainstorming. This community service was carried out at SMA Negeri 1 Kualuh Hulu and SMA Negeri Kualuh Selatan, Labuhanbatu Utara Regency. The results showed a change in behavior in students who became abusers of cannabis type narcotics who were given CBT counseling and there was an increase in students' knowledge about narcotics applied by Peer Educators.

Most home and micro-scale industries have poor business management. Good management is able to produce the desired result or good in the business being run. The partner in this community service activity is students of Al Hidayah Senior High School in Mojokerto, who has a business in making ginger drinks “Jahe Sehat”. This training aimed to increase partner’s knowledge and skill about sanitation hygiene and production management. The manufacturing process starts from the preparation of raw materials, namely ginger, extraction, cooking, sieving, packaging and labeling to marketing. It was found that healthy ginger producers still do not understand the importance of hygiene and sanitation in the production process, unattractive packaging designs and no good financial cash planning system. The community service team conducts training and outreach to solve the partner's problems. By carrying out this service activity, partners increase partner’ skills and knowledge and the healthy ginger product "jahe sehat al-hidayah" has an attractive packaging.

Skill Development with Cooking Training for Guramek Fish Dishes to the Extra-Curricular Group of Food Catering Students at Permai Pluit High School Jakarta. Cooking is an art to process raw materials into a ready eat the dish with proper cooking methods. To be able to cook well and properly, people need training the right way. Pelita Harapan School of Hospitality and Tourism carry out community service cooking training activities aimed at the cooking club at Permai Senior High School Pluit Jakarta. The purpose of this community service is to share cooking skill and knowledge with the member of the cooking club at Permai High School Pluit Jakarta since they need assistance to improve their cooking and food presentation skill. A pre-test was conducted before the training to find out the basic skill and knowledge of cooking especially gurame fish; the ending of community service activities was carried out in the post-test to determine the effectiveness of the gurame cooking training that had done. Cooking training activities to the member of the cooking class Permai High School Students has a positive influence because the cooking club member became more skillfully and understand in processing gurame into various Nusantara Recipes.
