In recent years, three-dimensional (3D) scanning has become the main tool for recording, documenting, and preserving cultural heritage in the long term. It has become the “document” most in demand today by historians, curators, and art restorers to carry out their work based on a “digital twin,” that is, a totally reliable and accurate model of the object in question. Thanks to 3D scanning, we can preserve reliable models in digital format of the real state of our heritage, some of which are currently destroyed. The first step is to digitize our heritage with the highest possible quality and precision. To do this, it will be necessary to identify the most appropriate technique. In this article, we will show some of the main digitization techniques currently used in sculpture heritage and the workflows associated with them to obtain high-quality models. Finally, a complete comparative analysis will be made to show their main advantages and disadvantages.

Aberrant activation of calmodulin 1 (CALM1) has been reported in human cancers. However, comprehensive understanding of the role of CALM1 in most cancer types has remained unclear. We systematically analyzed the expression landscape, DNA methylation, gene alteration, immune infiltration, clinical relevance, and molecular pathway of CALM1 in multiple cancers using various online tools, including The Cancer Genome Atlas, cBioPortal and the Human Protein Atlas databases. Kaplan–Meier and receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves were plotted to explore the prognostic and diagnostic potential of CALM1 expression. Multivariate analyses were used to evaluate whether the CALM1 expression could be an independent risk factor. A nomogram predicting the overall survival (OS) of patients was developed, evaluated, and compared with the traditional Tumor-Node-Metastasis (TNM) model using decision curve analysis. R language was employed as the main tool for analysis and visualization. Results revealed CALM1 to be highly expressed in most cancers, its expression being regulated by DNA methylation in multiple cancers. CALM1 had a low mutation frequency (within 3%) and was associated with immune infiltration. We observed a substantial positive correlation between CALM1 expression and macrophage and neutrophil infiltration levels in multiple cancers. Different mutational forms of CALM1 hampered immune cell infiltration. Additionally, CALM1 expression had high diagnostic and prognostic potential. Multivariate analyses revealed CALM1 expression to be an independent risk factor for OS. Therefore, our newly developed nomogram had a higher clinical value than the TNM model. The concordance index, calibration curve, and time-dependent ROC curves of the nomogram exhibited excellent performance in terms of predicting the survival rate of patients. Moreover, elevated CALM1 expression contributes to the activation of cancer-related pathways, such as the WNT and MAPK pathways. Overall, our findings improved our understanding of the function of CALM1 in human cancers.

AbstractIn this paper, a nonlinear elliptic obstacle problem is studied. The nonlinear nonhomogeneous partial differential operator generalizes the notions of p-Laplacian while on the right hand side we have a multivalued convection term (i.e., a multivalued reaction term may depend also on the gradient of the solution). The main result of the paper provides existence of the solutions as well as bondedness and closedness of the set of weak solutions of the problem, under quite general assumptions on the data. The main tool of the paper is the surjectivity theorem for multivalued functions given by the sum of a maximal monotone multivalued operator and a bounded multivalued pseudomonotone one.

AbstractFor abelian surfaces of Picard rank 1, we perform explicit computations of the cohomological rank functions of the ideal sheaf of one point, and in particular of the basepoint-freeness threshold. Our main tool is the relation between cohomological rank functions and Bridgeland stability. In virtue of recent results of Caucci and Ito, these computations provide new information on the syzygies of polarized abelian surfaces.

Abstract The prescribed Ricci curvature problem in the context of G-invariant metrics on a homogeneous space M = G / K {M=G/K} is studied. We focus on the metrics at which the map g ↦ Rc ⁡ ( g ) {g\mapsto\operatorname{Rc}(g)} is, locally, as injective and surjective as it can be. Our main result is that such property is generic in the compact case. Our main tool is a formula for the Lichnerowicz Laplacian we prove in terms of the moment map for the variety of algebras.

Background: Drug utilization Evaluation is the main tool to assess the clinical and economic effects of drug on health-care system. The aim of the current study is to evaluate the regimens of antibiotic prophylaxis in common gynecological surgeries in a referral teaching hospital Methods: This cross-sectional study was done in Alzahra hospital, Tabriz, Iran, from July 2017 to December 2017. Patients who received antibiotics as surgical site infection prophylaxis were enrolled. Data were collected from patients’ medical records and adherence rate to the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) guideline was studied as the primary endpoint. Results: A total of 210 patients who undergoes common gynecological surgeries were evaluated. Cesarean section (58.6%) and total abdominal hysterectomy (28.1%) were the majority of surgeries. The type of administered antibiotic was adherent to guideline in 71.4%. Doses and duration of prescribed antibiotic (Cefazolin, the most prescribed antibiotic) were not in accordance with the guideline in 100%. Only in 58%, the time of antibiotic administration was corrected. Conclusion: In this study, the misuse of antibiotics in most cases was documented in terms of type, dose and duration of drug administration in Al-Zahra Hospital. It seems necessary to publish evidence-based guidelines and monitor their proper implementation, not only to reduce costs but also to combat antibiotic resistance.

Scenario simulations are the main tool for studying the impact of a nuclear reactor fleet on the related fuel cycle facilities. This equilibrium preliminary study aims to present the functionalities of a new tool and to show the wide variety of reactors/cycles/strategies that can be studied in steady state conditions and validated with more details thanks to dynamic code. Different types of scenario simulation tools have been developed at CEA over the years, this study focuses on dynamic and equilibrium codes. Dynamic fuel cycle simulation code models the ingoing and outgoing material flow in all the facilities of a nuclear reactor fleet and their evolutions through the different nuclear processes over a given period of time. Equilibrium fuel cycle simulation code models advanced nuclear fuel cycles in equilibrium conditions, i.e. in conditions which stabilize selected nuclear inventories such as spent nuclear fuel constituents, plutonium or some minor actinides. The principle of this work is to analyze different nuclear reactors (PWR, AMR) and several fuel types (UOX, MOX, ERU, MIX) to simulate advanced nuclear fleet with partial and fully plutonium and uranium multi-recycling strategies at equilibrium. At this first stage, selected results are compared with COSI6 simulations in order to evaluate the precision of this new tool, showing a significant general agreement.

In the current Covid-19 transition period, it is very necessary to use innovative vocational learning models in digital models. The number of vocational learning models using ICT as the main tool during the pandemic needs to be studied further on how the model is implemented and its effectiveness. The problem that arises is that we do not know whether the use of ICT tools in vocational learning is effectively used. This study aims to empirically verify the effectiveness of ICT in vocational education learning during the Covid-19 transition period. Meta-Analysis is used as a method to conduct this research. There are 30 latest articles reviewed during the year of 2020 to 2021. All articles are classified based on the author, year of publication, the ICT device or application used, and the results of the post-test experimental and control classes. The results are obtained after the calculation using the effect size (ES) formula. The calculation results show that the learning using ICT as a tool during the Covid-19 pandemic has a high effect (1.28) on cognitive achievement in vocational education. The conclusion of this study is that ICT-assisted learning has a high level of effectiveness and is suitable for learning in the vocational field. Then, the dominant multimedia device or application used in the vocational learning in Indonesia is the computer technology network and it is the most widely used for the application of ICT in learning.

Abstract We study a precise and computationally tractable notion of operator complexity in holographic quantum theories, including the ensemble dual of Jackiw-Teitelboim gravity and two-dimensional holographic conformal field theories. This is a refined, “microcanonical” version of K-complexity that applies to theories with infinite or continuous spectra (including quantum field theories), and in the holographic theories we study exhibits exponential growth for a scrambling time, followed by linear growth until saturation at a time exponential in the entropy — a behavior that is characteristic of chaos. We show that the linear growth regime implies a universal random matrix description of the operator dynamics after scrambling. Our main tool for establishing this connection is a “complexity renormalization group” framework we develop that allows us to study the effective operator dynamics for different timescales by “integrating out” large K-complexities. In the dual gravity setting, we comment on the empirical match between our version of K-complexity and the maximal volume proposal, and speculate on a connection between the universal random matrix theory dynamics of operator growth after scrambling and the spatial translation symmetry of smooth black hole interiors.

The Enlightenment philosophy, inspired by the intellectual movements of the Renaissance and Reformation, emerging from the scholastic darkness of the Middle Ages, led to the emergence of the Industrial Revolution with its strong light; With the great acceleration given by the production, it has become the dominant ideology of science, culture and art by spreading first to Europe and then to the whole world. Modernism, which was shaped by the idea of Enlightenment, transformed into capitalism in a short time and caused the formation of a consumption culture. The enlightenment ideology brought the understanding of "objective reason" and "progressive history" to humanity, which transformed it into a consumer society shaped by capitalism instead of the "promised paradise". This is why the 'Age of Modernity' is called the age of capitalist transformation. The spread of capitalism to the whole world has been achieved through mass communication and production techniques. TVs, which are the broadcasting organs of capitalism, have become the main tool of capital transformation and have ensured the spread of consumption culture with advertising and marketing techniques. Modernism has carried the material, thinking and comprehension stages of art to a materialistic dimension within a structure that is far from emotional, formed by a technocentric and mechanical mentality. Art integrated with technology has become commodified with capitalist regulation and institutionalization; has gained a commercial dimension. Pop Art, which emerged in the 1960s, has become the symbol of commercialized art; It has emerged as an art movement that deals with the consumption society and its values. Andy Warhol, the famous representative of Pop Art, is one of the artists known to play a role in the commodification of works of art. Warhol's art has made serious contributions to the process of transforming today's art into commodity aesthetics. Meta art/aesthetics is a tradeable world of copies. This artificial world has turned into the real world in the consumer society, which can be reproduced in line with the possibilities of art production technologies; They have become objects of consumption whose uniqueness has been lost.
